You don’t if someone isn’t paying you for his proper future value projection. Baseball execs worth half their weight have a good evaluation on him and know the pedigree of prospect he is. Someone deals with you at near his ceiling or he stays here.

Bassitt wouldn’t take more than Vaughn… we’d likely want a young arm for our bullpen added, I would think actually. For Castillo ( who is now rumored to not be available ) - yes, we’d need to send more. We make Vaughn available and we’d find a taker for a young starting pitcher who fits the bill.

I think it would amount to Vaughn being dealt for someone to upgrade the rotation. Gio, Lynn, Cease, Kopech, Gray/Basset Hendricks, Graveman, Bummer, Tephera, Crochet, Ruiz, Lopez, + Anderson, Robert, Abreu, Schwarber, Eloy, Grandal, Moncada, Joc, Garcia Doesn’t sound bad to me. Sub Conforto for Joc and it sounds a lot better.

He certainly has that “6th tool” in spades. I’ve been impressed with him on the big stage with LA since 2016 or 2017.

Could do a lot worse. Only gripes I’ve got about him are his higher strikeouts and that he’s a righty. Living in LA, I’ve seen plenty of the grindy guy.
