Well here it is how do you like it now?
DonkeyKongerko replied to whitesox89's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Because it is enough to like already knowing there's still money left for that middle infielder. -
Considering none of us have seen Iguchi play (have we?), I am going to defer to Kenny and his scouts on this one.

Score just reported Sox sign AJ
DonkeyKongerko replied to 103 mph screwball's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Wow finally got on this thread. You know something big happened when Soxtalk server slows down. Welcome aboard AJ and have a great year (or two) in Chicago. -
Kap or Jason, where exactly is the server anyways? And what kind of system is it running on? I've always been curious.

QUOTE(TheDybber @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 01:58 PM) let's do a little comparison: Sox LF: Rowand. Young, improving. Works his butt off. Cubs LF: Ordonez. Injury extent unknown. even if he plays next year, he won't be 100%. See Rowand, wrist. Thomas, arm. Sox CF: Podsednik. One good year. One bad year. Works his tail off. Still had 70 steals. Would switch positions if its for good of the team. Cubs CF: Patterson. "Five tool player." I hope some of those tools are craftsman tools, because they aren't lookin' too good. excellent CF defense. strikes out too much. pulls the ball too much. won't switch positions for the good of the team. Sox RF: Dye. Injury prone but has proven he's a good hitter. Has integrity. Above average fielder. Works his butt off. Cubs RF: Sosa. I don't think I need to lay out what he takes from the table. Advantage: Sox!!! Sounds about right. About the only thing that Cubs outfield would be is about ten times more expensive.

White Sox and Iguchi far apart in Negotiations
DonkeyKongerko replied to Sanjay2000's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yeah I caught a Japanese ball game once, the balloons are like oversized condoms that everyone blows up in the top of the 7th for the grand release. On Iguchi and AJ, it looks like with the offers we are making to both of them, we definitely have at least the money to sign one. My guess is if one of them gets signed first to another team, we will use the money freed up from the offer to help sign the other. -
QUOTE(hi8is @ Jan 6, 2005 -> 01:46 PM) according to rotoworld at 11:41 AM Thrusday January 6th "Free agent Esteban Loaiza will not be playing in the MLB nor any Mexican League. This is due to the fact that some outside source, beleved to be a Califiornian named Trevor Caesar, has bought Esteban's services for a reported 3 year 24 million dollar deal. Mr. Caesar plans to use Esteban for his 7 year old sons batting pratice." Wow Rotoworld is getting pretty harsh. There are plenty of worse pitchers in the Major Leagues than Esteban Loaiza. Apparently Rotoworld also forgot how he was one of the best Yankees pitchers in the ALCS (which doesn't say alot).

Borass would disown Beltran if he took that offer.

Terry Shea was bad enough to deserve 2 threads about his firing.

Wade Boggs & Ryne Sandberg inducted to HOF

I agree that both deserved it and congrats. -

FIXED: Sox Desktop Backgrounds from ABOZ
DonkeyKongerko replied to aboz56's topic in How Does That Work?
Nice to see some TEP pix, I usually see like 10 or 20 Sox ST pics every year from local media sources. -
During the Oscars, the montage of actors, actresses, and other entertainers who died in the past year always makes me sad. IMDB has a photo gallery up already. RIP to all.

I don't think KW wants to be in Moneyball 2.

Congrats to you and mrs. eye.

Los Angeles Angels Of Anaheim
DonkeyKongerko replied to The Critic's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I wonder what pro sports team is the farthest away from the city it's named for. Would it be the Angels with this name change? -

Angeles Angels Angeles Angels, it just doesn't roll of the tongue. -
I'm sure many of you already noticed the tag doesn't work anymore. You still have the option of making an all-HTML post in one of the drop-down boxes when you're creating a new post.

Weird Tex, I'm seeing everything in the thread after your 11:59 post inside that post like an open quote. Anyways, I noticed on the way up from Champaign that they added an I-Pass lane to all of the plazas I went through on 294. I think the eventual plan is to have mostly I-Pass lanes and just a couple manual booths at all plazas.

Looks like the Borderline skin puts them on the right by default. The invisionskins.com website says they can be moved to the left with some editing. Maybe we could vote on what skins to add to Soxtalk?
-
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 2, 2005 -> 07:58 PM) There is also now a Borderline Grey Skin that looks nicer. Are the avatars and stats supposed to be on the right for this skin? I don't think I've seen any skins that look like that before.

This poll question is so big on my screen. Seems like I have to do more scrolling now to read everything.
-
I'm guessing proper nouns are out? That makes it too easy IMO.

Hawk has a flair for the over-dramatic but you just gotta love the guy. It seems like every time he's interviewed he says something like "Something BIG is about to happen."
