My jobless ass would probably only manage a couple hundred bucks for some upper deck tix. If I had a salary though, I imagine myself paying somewhere in the $500-$1000 range. It's not something I expect to happen more than once in my lifetime.

Whoever of Buck/McCarver/Leiter said it, they were right: a 3-0 choke job is possible if you have poor starting pitching. The Yanks bullpen was pretty damn unreliable too this postseason with Rivera really being the only go-to guy. I expect Stein to spend lots on pitching wherever he can find it. Maybe he'll just pay to invite every free agent SP to Yankees camp.

I'm happy for the Red Sox. Especially after A-Rod tried to knock that ball out yesterday. Still rooting for the Cards or Stros to win it but the 2004 Red Sox will be forever remembered for what they have done tonight.

I believe the umpires are due some credit as well. So often one will blow a single call in the playoffs and be forever remember for it. Rarely are umpires ever noticed when they get things right. There were two huge calls reversed last night that the umpiring crew got right and I just want to say they did a heck of a job. Also takes some balls to reverse two calls against the Yankees in the Bronx like that.

If Oswalt wins tomorrow and the NLCS goes 6 or 7 games, the winner will in all likelihood be facing a well-rested Yankees team with homefield advantage. It's not looking too good for either but I gotta keep the faith. Yanks have been shut out of championships this century (technically 2000 was 20th century).

Playing under the label "The Best Player in Baseball You've Never Heard Of" here in Chicago may have bothered him as well. He deserves to be a superstar somehwere where the national media can recognize can recognize his accomplishments. More money wouldn't be too bad either. I respect the Twins as well. How does it reflect on the Sox when we are usually dominated by the Twins in September? It's the closest thing our guys had to a postseason in '03 when we went to the dome. How do you think they would have performed under October pressure which is many times more than that?
