The point is nobody mopped the floor with anybody tonight. Debates are hard to win but they're very easy to lose. Al Gore sighing or GHWB looking at his watch. These are the kinds of things that people remember and none of them really happened tonight. As far as material, both these guys had their rehearsed lines and memorized figures and repeated the hell out of them. I do think the material gave Kerry a slight edge towards the end where it seemed like Dubya was somewhat unprepared to have an in-depth discussion on Korea. Still, nobody won a decisive victory of any kind tonight. Hopefully the next debate we'll see some more candidate interaction.

1 minute is a long time on eBay.

I thought Oakland and Seattle did in 2000 but the loser became the Wild Card anyways.
-
Best of 3 games in Oakland to decide it all. I love the AL West, it's always like two great teams are fighting it out at the end. Who do you like? Colon vs. Mulder Escobar vs. Zito Washburn vs. Hudson I personally think it will come down to game 3 no matter what and Hudson will show up.

Does anyone else find it funny when Joey's picture comes on the Diamondvision during the Sox intro video?
-
Yes and usually the winners are 2 CFers with an Ichiro. Remember, it's alot easier to win two gold gloves than one.

For future reference, there's a huge thread about this in the Sports Bar. We try to keep non-Sox discussion there as they are not worthy to be talked about in Pale Hose Talk. But hey, GO REDS!!!

This game was fun for a while when I rented it (2004 that is) but I think it got too easy after a while. The only hard part for me by the end of the week was hitting good draws and fades. The putting system with the caddy tips makes it way too easy to putt while turning them off makes it too hard.

The question is will he have another 2002 type season trying to recover from being out for so long? It seems like it takes him an extra year to make a comeback and frankly (no pun intended) I dont know if he has any comebacks left in him.

Angels suspend Guillen for rest of season
DonkeyKongerko replied to witesoxfan's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Does anyone know what he did exactly? To get suspended for the rest of the season without pay would require him to breach his contract or maybe commit a crime I would think. What the hell did he do in the clubhouse? -
This is the order of teams I would like to see win the WS if the playoffs started today: Oakland, St. Louis, Minnesota, Atlanta, LA, NY, Boston, Nobody

Sailed through most of his career with a lot of low ranked opponents and his counterpunching technique. I think Tarver exposed the weakness that was always there and that Roy cannot take a great deal of punishment.

I watched the replay and you are right, they sound really upset at the end there. One would almost think it wasn't a national broadcast. Anyways, this makes me happy: Sosa 0-5 4K 8 LOB

Pedro f***ING Feliz hits a grand slam!!

Cubs DO play the Braves so there's a chance they could lose a few more.

Damn we were spoiled with Ray at 2B. At least offensively he was one of the best in the league for a while there. Even when he had some parting words for KW et. al. I never had bad feelings for #5.

Man if the Cubs lose the Wild Card by one game...

I think we need an adult forum or something. This is really not something that any kiddie should be wandering in here and reading even IF this forum is called Sex Lies and Politics.

I don't have the numbers right now but Crede has always hit well against KC.

Anyone that still doesn't have Google shares, the ship will soon set sail.

How tantalizing is it that this guy plays so well in September and sometimes April to make you think he has all the tools? This is still his most disappointing year in the majors but I still root for the guy. He may be "uncoachable" with that long swing but I don't mind keeping him around with someone else to platoon him.

Bradford was too overconfident in the boardroom. I think that rubbed Donald the wrong way. Perhaps if Bradford had admitted his mistake right after the moment and said he had misspoke he would have redeemed himself a bit. Either way Stacie needs to be fired ASAP.

Why is it that we tend to shut up and listen to people when we know they are about to die? Either way these are some pretty powerful words from Kenneth Bigley. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3682234.stm

Wouldn't the Moneyball approach be the best for a team playing in a ballpark where alot of homeruns are hit? We want to turn those solo shots into 3 run homers.

Remember that game against the O's at the Cell earlier this season? It was pouring rain and we had already dropped the first of the doubleheader. I believe Eric Bedard was pitching in a middle inning and the game looked like it might end very soon due to rain. The Paulie Chant starts up and PK crushes one out to left field. That is my greatest Paulie moment of this season. Well that and him stealing 2nd in KC in the opener.
