Also, I forgot that waiver priority changes every week based on record. So since I am 1-0, my waiver dropped from 1st to 8th. So I put out waiver claims for Mike Wallace (drop Keenan Allen) and also TJ Yeldon (drop Christine Michael). -

I put Melvin Gordon in a few offers. Trying to sell-high on him. Put out offers for DeMarco Murray and one for Matt Forte. Also put out an offer of Melvin Gordon and Eric Decker to a dumb friend of ours for LeVeon Bell. He has Danny Woodhead, and that's the 1-for-1 I was initially trying to go for, but I would think he would be suspicious of trading a RB for a RB on the same team. -

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 05:40 AM) I'm in the same boat with the #1 waiver claim. I'm going to drop Derrick Henry. I need a backup QB but not till week 4 which is Rodgers bye week (Stafford is actually available in my league). I don't think I wanna use it on a QB though even though I should jump on Stafford. I need a RB after Bell comes back in a couple weeks (I'm weak there especially now with Freeman looking like a RB2, so I pretty much just have Forte) so I'm looking at Theo Reddick. BUT, Will Fuller is looking awfully attractive. I might just pick that kid up. He looked amazing against the Bears. I'm going to possibly shop Gronk this week. Maybe even Rodgers if I decide to just take Stafford. Carl, any advise bro? I would absolutely be picking up Will Fuller if I didn't have Hopkins already. I can't see having 2 WR from the same team being a good idea. I might just wait until the waiver period is over and grab Mike Wallace or TJ Yeldon. Or maybe Tajae Sharpe. -

So who are the hot waiver pick ups for this week? I just lost Keenan Allen for the year, but have #1 waiver priority. Anyone I need to scoop up, or should I hold on to that #1 waiver spot for another week? Luckily. I am deep enough at WR. I have Decker, Baldwin, Hurns, and Melvin Gordon to replace him with. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 12:31 AM) Get rid of Lawrie. Case closed. I guess everybody devalues Saladino cause of where he was chosen in the draft. Sorry, stat nerds (I say that lovingly) and draftniks ... the eye test is all that matters on Saladino. Sox are too dumb to play him, however. Sox scouts and front office and coaching staff is a fricking joke. Absolutely nobody is or has done that.
-
There is absolutely no reason to move Saladino. A good team needs depth. Dino is the perfect depth player who can hit a little, play solid D, and can move around the field. He's an asset, and a cheap one. He's a no brainer to keep on this team, whether he's a super-utility guy or a 2B starter, you keep him.

All that being said, I'm sure Porcello will win. Boston, 20+ wins, nice ERA.

fWAR... Kluber/Tanaka - 5.0 WAR in 29 starts (0.172 WAR per start) Sale - 4.8 WAR in 28 starts (0.171 WAR per start) So you are talking about near virtual tie in WAR, besides, Margin of Error for fWAR is 0.5. Now, Baseball Prospectus uses their own form of WAR which accounts for catcher framing. This is important because, as you probably know, the Sox are HORRENDOUS at pitch-framining. So this adds/removes the impact a catcher has on a starter. With that in mind, Sale leads ALL baseball in pitcher WARp. Sale - 6.5 Kluber - 6.2 Price - 6.1 Verlander - 5.8 Archer - 5.3 Sale has lost 6.3 runs to his ERA because of that pitch framing. Let's adjust those the top 5 pitchers in ERA to reflect their team's pitch framing.... Fulmer - 2.76 ERA to 2.61 Sale - 3.03 ERA to 2.75 Tanaka - 3.04 ERA to 3.12 Kluber - 3.05 ERA to 3.02 Quintana - 3.13 ERA to 2.87

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 23, 2016 -> 12:07 AM) I finally moved Arrieta. After we AGREED upon this deal (Arrieta + Corey Seager for Syndergaard, Kinsler, and Addison Russell), he kept waffling back and forth for days, not giving me an answer or randomly changing his mind back and forth, we eventually settled on this... I trade: SP Jake Arrieta SP Michael Wacha OF Colby Rasmus (picked him up waivers this week) I receive: SP Noah Syndergaard 2B Ian Kinsler 1B Joey Votto No idea why this guy decided to "throw in" Votto. I never even brought him up, as I ASSUMED he would be untouchable (Depsite a poor start). Really excited about adding Kinsler as Kolten Wong has been atrocious for me. Rasmus has been great, but I JUST got him and 4 of his 5 HR have come in 2 games, so I am banking on a couple hot games inflating his totals. Syndergaard is a step-down, but maybe not that much if he keeps racking up the Ks, and Arrieta doesn't. Really didn't want to lose Wacha, but if Votto rebounds at all, and Kinsler keeps being a top 2 2B in baseball, I will have come out very very good in this deal, I believe. This trade completely catapulted me in to the best record. Votto has been crazy good in the 2nd half. I got... Syndergaard was the 12th best SP in my league. Kinsler was the 5th best 2B in the league. Votto was the 6th best 2B in the league. I gave up... Arrieta was the 11th best SP (I traded him AFTER his no-hitter, so I probably got more out of Syndergaard post-trade than Arrieta gave him post-trade) Wacha was the 86th best SP. Rasmus was the 75th best OF. -

QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Mar 31, 2016 -> 07:11 PM) Eliminate him. As noted above, really hate taking Posey @ 12 overall. Much better players are available there. Did you pick Stanton @ number 2 overall? Over Trout/Harper/Goldschmidt? Sano and Seager were also drafted earlier than i'd expect them to be. Not a big fan of the Jansen pick or the Lindor pick. The rest of your draft seems to be filled with solid guys and sleepers which is nice. Although, where's your other RP's? Casilla and Jansen is all? Deff. not a big fan of the start of your draft tho, especially if you choose to draft stanton over one of Trout/Harper/Goldschmidt. Suck it Ron! I won it all baby! -

My team, Eaton Pujols, won the whole thing! $150 to me. Finished 17-2 on the season. I won the championship 937.5 to 779. Wasn't even close. -

QUOTE (TRU @ Sep 12, 2016 -> 04:38 PM) Garcon would need 70 yards and a TD to beat you.. He had over 70 yards only 3 times in 16 games last season and never scored more than 1 TD in any game.. the combo of 70 yards and 1 TD happened just one time.. It would be shocking, to say the least, if Garcon has 70+ yards and a TD tonight.. I think you're good. A little more digging.. in the last 32 games he had a stat line of 70+ yards and 1 TD in only 3 games (Two of those against division rival Eagles).. recent history says he has about a 10% chance at hitting those numbers. Hopefully I did not just jynx you. I am going to be 5-0 in my leagues after tonight, but unfortunately will be losing Keenan Allen in two of them.. that's a tough one Garcon did get 51 yards, but no TD. I won by 9.9 points. My best friend is in my league...he almost DOUBLED his opponent. And he STILL had bench players out produce some of his starters. -

Welp, had I played Melvin Gordon...or Isiah Crowell (wasn't really even considering it though), or even Doug Baldwin, they all outscored Decker, I would be sitting really comfortably heading in to MNF. But instead, I hold on to a 12.9 pt lead and he has Pierre Garcon left. Still not terribly worried, but one TD by Garcon and I could be screwed. Picking up Ebron worked out well for me. -
QUOTE (hi8is @ Sep 11, 2016 -> 01:30 AM) Holy cow were you right! What a nightmare S2 was. One of the worst I've ever seen. Your description was dead on! It's a shame because I was trying so hard to piece together everything from S1 to figure it out, and none of it mattered one bit.

Should I be playing Melvin Gordon? I currently have Christine Michael and Eric Decker (flex) playing over him. He's projected for a couple points less than both guys and KC is ranked 4th best rush defense. -

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Sep 9, 2016 -> 11:06 PM) I think it's cool to see how our players rate against players from other teams. Would be cool if he's a top 10 SS next year to me. I think it's also cool that Eaton is a top defensive RFer. Comparative stats are cool to me and other folks. Na mean? Rather compare him to Francisco Lindor, a divisional rival SS whom we will be seeing a lot of over the next 5+ years. I just get annoying with the constant comparisons to Cubs players. -

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 09:09 PM) And he seems to have twice the arm of the guy across town who gets tons of praise for his D. I can't wait to see how they compare next year. We might have the better shortstop. Who cares? -

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 9, 2016 -> 08:23 PM) Whoever has him like myself... Rob Gronkowski out for season opener. Yeeeeeep. Had to pick up Ebron. It was between Ebron or the Colts TE that presently escapes my mind. Of COURSE my uncle picked up Clive Walford already, his 3rd TE on his roster now. Clueless SOAB. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 03:46 PM) Tim Anderson 1471 MiLB PA's. Gordon Beckham 380 MiLB PA's. I said nothing about Anderson being rushed. My point is that small sample sizes of major league success don't always last and it's too early to think he's on his way to being an all-star. -
Going back and finishing Mr Robot S1. I think I got to the last episode and stopped. This is going to sounds really strange to you older people or those married or in a relationship. But until I started to see the girl I am with now, I had a lot of trouble watching TV shows because I was pretty much constantly talking to multiple girls at once through multiple dating apps/snapchat/text. And when I wasn't talking to one, I was on those apps looking for another to talk to. It was kind of an addiction and it would take me 2 hours+ to watch a regular show because I was constantly pausing or rewinding. Now that I am dating one of them, I deleted all those apps and am on my phone way less. lol. It sounds really dumb, but I had to reply to them as soon as I got a message. Annnnyway, I just rewatched Episode 9 and just have 10 left to watch.

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 03:12 PM) He sure looks like he belongs and then some. All the people who thought he was rushed or that his callup was a desperation move were completely wrong. Helps one believe in the FO a bit more. They nailed this pick and they nailed preparing him and they nailed his timetable. Kudos I think you are jumping the gun big time here. Even Gordon Beckham was a world beater in the beginning. He's doing well so far, but jury is still out. -
QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 03:12 PM) I was actually gonna post about this earlier. Just about every vendor in comic cons uses Square (though at the mercy of their data reception) and I wonder how that'd affect them? I guess they would use a converter. Would the dongle they supply handle that?

QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 10:15 AM) I don't really have an opinion one way or the other on what Apple did (I don't use an iPhone in any case) but I will call bulls*** on the following: -Apple trying to force everyone into their own, overpriced proprietary standard -Everything going all-digital, which means DRM will become the norm, and interoperability will die As wireless becomes more of a mainstream standard, it will improve, and people will deal. It's because they are courageous.
