QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Sep 4, 2016 -> 10:49 PM) This is incredible. If he ends up hitting .300 with 30HRs & 100 RBI...i'm just gonna smack myself really hard. I just see no other options. He doesn't even have to hit 30 HR to out perform his 2015 season offensively, which was still pretty damn good. His walk rate is up, his K-rate is down, his average is up. He could surpass his 2B and RBI total pretty easily. It's hard to figure out why his offensive WAR is SOOO much incredibly worse than 2015s. Must be deeper statistics that I haven't delved in to yet that are making the difference.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 4, 2016 -> 09:18 PM) Solorzano gave up 0 hits as well. I'm sure some here will call him a sleeper prospect next season. What's your point?

Sox still have 11th pick. 4.5 GB of Philly for 10th pick. 13.5 GB of MIN for 1st pick -
QUOTE (Donaldo @ Sep 3, 2016 -> 08:10 PM) Do they plan on using Cooper as a Starter or a Reliever? Good question, but no idea. Looking at his game log, it seems they may be attempting to limit his innings with his 2nd half bullpen stint, because he certainly wasn't failing as a starter.

Sorry, 9/2 games. Damn computer rolled over the date and I didn't notice.

http://mlbfarm.com/index.php?team=CWS Matt Cooper in relief.... 3IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 6 K. His ERA at AA is 3.07 and he has 47 K to 12 BB and just 30 H in 41 IP. That's a K/BB of about 4, and a WHIP slightly over 1. Encouraging progress for a 16th RD pick a couple years ago. Call went 1/4. Lechich continues to have a great transition to becoming a pitcher. 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K. He's only pitched 14 innings since converting, but hasn't allowed any earned runs with 11 H, 2 BB and 16 K. Comito had a great start. 7 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 9 K. Booker went 1/5, SB. Roman - 2/4, 2 SB Schnurbusch - 0/1, RBI, 3 BB, SB Fisher - 1/3, BB, SB Great Falls in the playoffs now.

With today's loss, we still have the 11th pick. 3.5 GB of Philly for 10th pick. 13 GB of Minnesota for 1st pick. -
Collins went 3/6, 2B, K, overall on the day. Fisher went 2/2, 2 2B, RBI. AVG up to .341 Booker went 2/4, 2B, BB, RBI. AVG up to .336 Matt Foster struck out the side in 1 perfect inning. Now has 9 1/3 IP with GF, 1 H, 2 BB, 12 K, 0 runs. 20th RD pick this year, but he's torched AZL and GF so far. His WHIP and his ERA are both UNDER 0.68 across the 27 2/3 IP between the two levels.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 1, 2016 -> 07:13 AM) Yup, that's something I came to realize over the past 10-15 years. Despite all the stereotypes of Wrigley, the baseball experience is so much better at Wrigley than at the Cell. Fans just pay more attention to the game and are more into the big moments. And it's not just because they are good now, I've seen it during the down years too. Yet their reputation has always been the exact opposite...so...

Woah, I had no idea Eddy Alvarez is batting .353 in AAA. Only 17 PA, but has 4 BB to only 2 K. For some reason I thought he was struggling.

Tonight's loss moved us up to the 11th pick! Yay! 4 GB of PHI for 10th pick. 14 GB of MIN for 1st pick. -
0-1, 4 BB for Collins. Now has a 21.2% walk rate.... http://mlbfarm.com/index.php?team=CWS Call went 2/5, 2 2B, 3 RBI.

As much as I would love Puig's talent, he would only add to the clubhouse circus.

What always kind of interested me was the role of a GM for a minor league team. Because you really don't even get to construct your own roster. And your best players get taken from you, and sometimes struggling/injured players get forced on your team. Must be weird to try to build a team, but you really aren't the guy constructing your roster.

With tonight's loss, we still have the 12th pick. 0.5 GB of COL for 11th pick. 4 GB of PHI for 10th pick. 14 GB of ATL/MIN for 1st pick. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2016 -> 08:32 PM) Hendricks should be Cy Young. It's crazy how he has become a superstar out of nowhere. He's really no where near the Cy Young award, but he is doing really well for some reason. Him and Arrieta are running super low BABIPs. In fact, both Lester and Lackey and even Hammel have real low BABIPs too. I wonder if that's a lot of luck on their side, a product of facing weak NL offenses, or just having a really good defense. Or a combination. All 5 Cubs starters are in the top 11 in lowest BABIPs in baseball. 5 of 11! Arrieta (2), Hendricks (6), Hammel, Lackey, Lester (9, 10, 11).

Man, I'm so tempted to go WR/RB heavy early and then take Prescott later. But that is so risky. Ahhhh. -

Interview with Alex Call, 3rd round pick
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in FutureSox Board
Really good stuff Owen. I love the comp to AJ Pollock. You'd expect most young prospects, particularly OFers, to say their comp is Mike Trout, Andrew McCutchen, Torii Hunter, some star like that who everyone knows. But AJ Pollock is not only a great player, but tells me Call actually follows the MLB pretty closely and that actually seems like a really nice ceiling comp pick in terms of a player who is above-average in everything, but not outstanding or poor in anything. -
Wow, didn't expect Collins to get the AFL due to him just being draft from a college season, and being a catcher, figured they would want to give his legs a rest.
-
I doubt Collins goes, but I could see Hansen going since he "saved" some innings by being in the bullpen in college his junior year.

Childish Gambino is going to play his new album at Joshua Tree from Sept 2nd-4th, hopefully the album coming out on the 5th to everyone else, and then his show Atlanta premieres on FX on the 6th. That's a pretty great week for Donald Glover.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 23, 2016 -> 09:32 PM) I enjoyed part of my time with No Man's Sky, finding new worlds, naming s*** and ..... Well, that's about it, in the first 6 systems I ventured into, 4 had already been discovered by ONE f***ing player -- Wizardnebula69 -- how is that even possible? A game where the developers believed it would take so long for players to find each other that they didn't even bother to include player to player interaction in the game's initial release, I came across another asshole in my second system. I grinded from plant to plant like a dope, spending ridiculous amounts of time firing upon rocks to collect ultimately meaningless resources because I'm a sucker for hoarding-centric gameplay (thank Fallout for this character flaw), there was no real point to any of this, no truly fantasticle monsters to discover or epic space dogfights, just slight variations upon the same pig-demon I met on the last previously discovered planet I visited and clumsy, broken hold-x-at-this-reticule and slowly pivot space battles. The UI is bad, the trading is bad, the ground combat is bad, the leveling system is bad, the story is bad, the inventory system is horrific and the payoff is non-existent. I've foolishly played more hours than I care to admit and I've yet to see an ROI, just more mindless grinding and the same f***ing animations over and over again. I'm bored and in reality I've been bored since the very beginning, hopelessly waiting for a payoff that does not exist. This game may be playable in the future, once the developers get their s*** together via DLC but it's sadly broken and vapid right now and I can't help but feel like I was sold a bill of goods by a small studio who didn't know how to handle their insane hype so they just rode the wave, telling fib after fib because they didn't know better. And what we're left with is basically a procedurally generated Rebel Galaxy ($20 title), sans the solid space combat and Firefly inspired asthetic, oh and 100000x more grinding, so much grinding. tl;dr: f***, I believed the hype and unfortunately so did the developer, knowing all along that they couldn't back it up. Dude, you just got to get to the center of the universe!
