  1. Kershaw is definitely better, Arrieta and Sale are so close when you factor in Arrieta's bad walk rate.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 12, 2016 -> 11:47 AM) So I'm an ahole (or as I tell myself...a truth teller) when it comes to personal finances, so I'm just going to make this comment, but unless I'm mistaken, you work as a server at a Chili's. Now I have no idea what your longer term plans are and maybe you have lined up some wall street job with a big signing bonus (or already have a ton of money through inheritance or something...either way, I don't need to know), but unless one of my predefined scenarios fits, in no way shape or form is dropping $42K on a car a solid financial decision for someone just starting out. You don't need to take my advice and I'm not here to get into a big discussion about it, but seeing that you are buying one I find it in my internet heart that I need to give you what I feel is the advice I'd tell my kids (and the advice I'd want someone to tell me in that situation). You are mistaken. And if I don't find a more lucrative job or some sort of situation occurs, I more than likely won't be getting this car anyway. I have until the configuration date (Summer 2017 probably) to figure that out, since the $1000 is completely refundable up until that point. But at the same time, this is also motivating me, so it's financial stress that I ultimately have a way out of in 12 months.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 12, 2016 -> 09:17 AM) What reason would there be for your screen name essentially to be "penis"? A banana hammock is a nickname for a thong. We have a user within this very thread with the name "Ass" in it.
  4. Tesla changed their projection of 500,000 Model 3's by the end of 2020, to the end of 2018. :o This probably pushed my expected arrival date on my Model 3 from Mid 2018 to Dec. '17 or so. About 6 months less to save for. While it will help almost certainly solidify me for the $7500 tax credit, having less time to save worries me. To account for this, I just bumped up my auto-paid savings "Tesla Fund" account and extra $100 a month. My goal is to be able to take about $20,000 off the price with savings + tax credit. Plan to configure my car for about $42,000 or so.
  5. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ May 9, 2016 -> 02:23 AM) Groome is getting some bad buzz leading up the draft. It's not crazy to think that he is there when the Sox pick. Which brings me to this question.... At pick #10....would you guys rather have a top 1 or 2 talent whose stock is falling right now and slides to #10, or would you rather have a guy who was a late 1st RD pick whose stock has exploded late and all the sudden becomes a top 10 pick by draft day. Which would you rather the Sox select at #10?
  6. QUOTE (shipps @ May 10, 2016 -> 10:23 AM) Nope. Huh? Why?
  7. LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT MAN'S TESTICLES! Wow, real ballsy to try for 2 on that one. Not advised.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ May 9, 2016 -> 10:21 PM) Desmond making us pay for not signing him Yeah, we've been really hurting without him.... ???
  9. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 9, 2016 -> 10:21 PM) Jennings has to catch that... That was by no means an easy catch, however, I feel like he actually moved his glove AWAY from it. Probably a 50/50 catch for most pitchers.
  10. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 8, 2016 -> 10:19 PM) Its not my thing, but hey the if Sox want to be showered with D then that's their decision and I respect. You beat me off to it, I mean, beat me to it.
  11. Holy s***, the draft is in a month. I need to get that day off work again.
  12. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ May 8, 2016 -> 09:40 PM) BA Has Ray falling to the Sox in their latest mock draft. http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/mock-draft-2-0/ AND THE PROPHECY CONTINUES.
  13. New Chance mixtape on the 13th.
  14. http://mlbfarm.com/index.php?team=CWS Holy good god, Zangari strikes out a lot. Got to be over 33% of the time. EDIT: Actually, it's over 40%. Yeeesh.
  15. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 7, 2016 -> 10:48 PM) Anyone else use roku for hbonow? Buggy as hell and thinking I should just buy something else. Man ps4 really needs to get that app. Get a Chromecast man. We have 7 in our family. Best $35 you can spend on electronics.
  16. I would like my display name to be "MrBananaHammock7". Thank you.
  17. I'll be there again. I'll try to do better than what I did on Thursday. That one was on me, guys.
  18. Date went alright tonight. This was my first time meeting here (another Tinder meet), and like I experienced in my 1st Tinder meet, she was about 30-40 lbs heavier than expected. She was actually a really nice girl and we got along fine, but I immediately went from feeling nervous that she would like me, to feeling like I had the upper hand. lol. But overall, I have mixed feelings. She ended up actually knowing far less about baseball than I was hoping. Didn't know a single Sox player, David Ortiz, or really anything outside of the Cubs. She was giving me Cubs updates as the game went on and mispronounced Zobrist's name. Not like being a huge baseball fan is a requirement of mine, but she talked up her baseball love so much that I was disappointed I guess. Also, she talked an awful lot about her job and how much money she makes. She is an ER nurse and makes pretty good money, way more than I do. Like....4x the amount that I do. I guess I was a bit intimidated by her talking about it all and how she is going to buy a $40,000 jeep here soon and how she goes to Vegas like 4 times a year, has trips to Cali and Nashville planned. I mean, she goes on vacation almost once a month. Plus she said questioned a couple of times why I would get the degree I got, considering jobs in Journalism pay so little. She said that's why she went in to medical, because of the money. (And her mom is a head nurse, I get the idea her family is loaded). So all that combined with the fact that she lives an hour south of me....Eh. I'm just not sure. I still got another girl here that I want to meet in the next week. She lives like 25 mins away and we have just as much, if not more in common. Only problem with her is that if I don't text her, we won't talk. When we talk, or conversations are full and she is interested. But every day it's on me to start the conversation. Kind of hard to figure out if she really wants to talk.
  19. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 5, 2016 -> 05:51 PM) I'm a junior in HS. Girl is into me and I think I am also into her (she is a Sox fan and literally can recite Sox player stats/sabermetrics AND is pretty. Too good to be true right?). Problem is that she is a graduating senior who will go to college in Louisiana, and there's like, a 1% chance I go to college there. This is on par with what I usually hear. I don't think cheating would be as much of an issue with this girl, but I could see jealousy (both ways). In the age of the smartphone and near-constant communication, I'd hope that some of these problems are less prevalent now. Yes, I graduate in May 2017 and the girl graduates in a couple weeks. It seems like a horrible idea, but we have so much in common and it would be hard to not try to make something work. I was in a relatively similar situation when I was in HS. I was a junior dating a senior girl who was going away to a major university. She was only going 3 hours away, but I still couldn't handle the idea of her being around college guys all the time (including her ex) and me not ever knowing what is going on (age before smart phones, social media was just Myspace). I decided to end it over the summer. Good thing I did. A few weeks later she was back with her ex and they have been together for the next 8 years since. lol.
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 5, 2016 -> 11:42 AM) So I'll just say and I'm sure some of the people are joking, but better to find a girl that is a baseball fan vs. a girl that isn't. Who gives a rats ass if she is a fan of your team or not. The rivalry could actually make it more fun. That's exactly what I told a coworker of mine. The girl I was just dating, didn't follow sports at all. Had never even SEEN a hockey game, even on TV. This new girl is baseball crazed, and even though she sends me snaps of the Cubs game and teases me, she also watches the Sox games and teases me about them and wants to go to Sox games with me. That's a lot more fun, even if it means playful teasing.
  21. My guess to my buddy was Justin Turner. His guess was J.D. Martinez. I like his guess better.
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 5, 2016 -> 01:45 AM) Chili, you must be a Ken doll stud. You got women all over the place. What's your secret? Flowing black hair; bodybuilder type? You seem to have a ton of women to choose from all the time. Lol, no Greg. I do have flowing dark locks though. QUOTE (knightni @ May 5, 2016 -> 07:05 AM) "I went to YOUR team's game; you shouldn't have any problem going to MINE. Here, put this Cubs shirt and cap on." A concern of mine that I've already thought about. lmao. If she bought be a ticket, I would go to a Cubs game with her no problem. But I would draw the line at being dressed up in Cubs gear. Afterall, SHE suggested getting herself a Sox shirt.
  23. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 4, 2016 -> 10:44 PM) So this isn't the younger lady, correct? No. I actually ended up dating the 18 year old for like 6 weeks. It didn't work out because she was worried about my intent to move to AZ at some point, and her interest to move to Indy. She didn't want to get too deep and get hurt. She said she got nervous about how much she was starting to like me, so just ended it. And it definitely ended cold. Not badly, but she just suddenly said she was done. And then about a week later she said she misses me and thinks she made the wrong choice about wanting to break up. But i haven't taken her back yet. I want to see what this new girl (and another couple I have on the line) have to offer first. And no, we never even had sex. I wasn't in it just to tag some ripe 18 year old. And yes, this new girl is older. lol. She's 22.
  24. Going on a first date to the Sox game tomorrow. It was HER idea, and she's a HUGE Cubs fan. We are going to the mall beforehand because she wants to buy a Sox shirt. Is it ok that I'm already in love?
