s***, there was some slugging 2B that I had seen in another list that I really wanted to see come to the Sox. His last name was Kyle I think. Too lazy to look him up.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 08:53 PM) Next time you ask your boss for a raise, I think it's fair to call you greedy. It's a business and I see no problem with a young player trying to get his max worth, especially given that there's no guarantee he ever pitches in the majors or sees another big contract. Injuries happen, especially with pitchers. Funny you say that, I've never asked for a raise in my life.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 03:54 PM) First and last... While I don't think he is a piece of s***, I do think calling him greedy is fair, and I can tell you that because of this whole thing, he hasn't gained any new fans. Even if becomes an ace in the next couple years, I have no intention of ever buying a jersey of his. Isn't really making himself a fan favorite early. Things can change, obviously.

2014 White Sox draft pick thread
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to southsider2k5's topic in FutureSox Board
QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 07:32 AM) It's one thing to stalk a new draft picks girlfriend for no reason, it's another for the board to start analyzing her looks now that she has no ties to Sox. Please stop. I think she's beautiful. And a big baseball fan, which makes her even more attractive to me. -
QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 03:16 PM) That one was my fault, transposition error. But still, that is a deal I would take for Q. Oh yeah, Joc Pederson is having a monster season, even for the PCL. Urias is a god damn 17-year-old in High-A who is holding his own at least. And Alex Guerrero, albeit 27-years-old already, is hitting .376 with 10 HR and not striking out much in AAA.
-
Since this doesn't really fit anywhere else, I'll add it here. I wonder if Hahn has a few deals agreed upon already, contingent on what the Sox do in the next 10 days or so. Like maybe he said "Yeah, we will give you Alexei for A, B, and C if end up 10 games back by next Saturday" Or something. I'm sure that wouldn't make the other GM very happy to have to wait on an asset they may want right now, but I would have to think Hahn is really conflicted on whether he should sell off some parts now, or wait this out and add a reliever or two instead.

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 11:37 PM) Tyler Flowers deserves to stay for a couple more weeks after making this video. http://m.mlb.com/video/v34430919/top-10-th...140709_27538916 I hope those are real, and not just some writers doings.

2014 White Sox draft pick thread

QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 11:15 PM) I had been checking Rodon's favourites occasionally to see if he'd faved anything about the White Sox or signing, he had a string of her tweets favourited but when I looked tonight, there were gone. So I checked and they no longer follow each other, plus she kind of vaguely refers to a dumping/being heartbroken in some tweets. I need to get a life. Man, that's really sad. And now I regret tweeting at her this afternoon asking if "her boy" was coming to Chicago tonight to sign. Whoops! -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 09:01 PM) Hard hit ground balls? Come on dude...he throw 95...if you hit the ball it's going to be hard The fact that he gives up the least amount of hard hit balls in baseball says you couldn't be more wrong. -

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:44 PM) I came here to make sure that Soxtalk, who melts down over Sale pitch counts, was fired up about him getting pulled with 107 pitches Thank god I said a couple innings ago that I would let Chris go 8 innings, and 115-120 pitches due to the all-star break. Because now I am on record as being against pulling Sale before Petricka imploded. Not like some of these hindsight people. -

QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:20 PM) Sale needs one more out for a sub 2 ERA, and after this game he'll be qualified. If he keeps it scoreless, he'll slot in first in AL ERA and second in the majors behind Wainwright. He was qualified after his last game, but then lost it 2 days later. He keeps towing the line. He will be fine after his post-ASG start. -

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:14 PM) Conor Gillaspie is blossoming into a star, no kidding. Not a star, but he is certainly looking like he could have some staying power for at least a few years for either us or another team if Davidson keeps up his summer. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:13 PM) I didn't realize that ball hit Gomes in the face, and not off the monster. Haha, neither did I. Him and De Aza should hang out and trade stories. -

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:03 PM) Well, he had a 5 BB outing a few starts ago. That really sabotaged his walk rate. Outside of that start, I bet he is barely over 1.00 BB/9. Yep. Without that outing, his BB/9 would be at 1.06, which would only be behind Phil Hughes. Instead, it's 1.54. -

QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 07:02 PM) How many walks does Sale have in his last 10 starts? That ratio is starting to get real ridiculous Well, he had a 5 BB outing a few starts ago. That really sabotaged his walk rate. Outside of that start, I bet he is barely over 1.00 BB/9. -

With this being Sale's last real workload for the next 9 days or so, I wouldn't be opposed to him trying to go 8 innings, 115-120 pitches. I think he is at 90 right now. -
