  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 10, 2014 -> 06:35 PM) Hey. Anyone know how to convert YouTube video to mp3 so I can play it on iPod. This is the site that I've used.... http://www.vidtomp3.com/
  2. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jan 10, 2014 -> 03:10 PM) Any new shows that started that are worth a watch?? Was thinking about Chicago PD and True Detective. Well, this show started back in September or so, but Masters of Sex had a pretty great rookie season.
  3. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Jan 10, 2014 -> 01:16 PM) it's kind of funny to have such polar opposites on the same show. allison williams who won't do nudity, and lena who will be naked for the whole ep. Upon googling her to find out what she looks like, I found she is the daughter of news anchor Brian Williams. Maybe that has something to do with her not wanting to do on-screen nudity.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 10, 2014 -> 01:51 PM) Amy Adams has a smaller role in the movie than the trailers would have you believe. If you like Joaquin Phoenix or are particularly enamored with Scarlett Johannson's voice, this is the movie for you. I'm somewhere in the middle on it. It's definitely not the type of movie you have to see in a theatre to enjoy 100%. Spike Jonze has always been known for being a quirky director, so this fits with his entire body of work. A little bit of Soderbergh to him...although he's also mainstream/commercial when he chooses those projects. I actually didn't even recognize that it was Amy Adams until about 3/4 of the movie was over. They made her look pretty homely with the frazzled hair and apparently no make-up. An interesting tidbit. They did the entire movie with another woman doing the voice over for the operating system. Then in the editing they decided she didn't fit very well, so they asked Scarlett Johannson to come in and redo all the dialogue.
  5. Wactched Her last night. It surprisingly had a lot of funny scenes. I got a little bored towards the end, but it was for sure a different movie and I think I liked it.
  6. Very cool stuff. I don't know how many of you guys live near each other, but a monthly (or biweekly, or weekly if your ambitious enough) recap video of what players moved up, down, "Helium watch", hot or cold, injury updates, ect would be pretty cool. I think people would enjoy hearing you guys talk about players and show video clips over the sound, rather than read text about them. Just a suggestion.
  7. I honestly can't figure out a compelling argument for why he someone would NOT approve of what he has done. I think he has done a great job, but I can see why people would also choose "not sure yet", because not a ton of this organization are guys he brought in on his own.
  8. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 10, 2014 -> 01:01 AM) You still get the feeling that characters are evolving. You get glimpses of crazy Walt and Jesse in and out of being on point and being a total junkie. I can't stand Skyler and her sister. And Saul is hilarious. What an awesome sleezeball. He reminds me of a video game character. The characters don't stop evolving. They are all so different from S1 to S5, it's crazy. And if you hadn't heard, Saul is getting a spinoff dramedy to air hopefully this fall. It's a prequel though, so don't read in to what the may mean for him in the BrBa series.
  9. Man, I had no idea that Tanaka has to be signed by Jan. 24th. I was thinking that was the deadline for teams to say if they wanted to bid the $20M or not, and then there would be a separate negotiation window. Now that I know this thing only has 2 weeks left, I'll actually pay attention more when I see stories on this. Excited for this to be over.
  10. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 10, 2014 -> 12:36 AM) OK, so I've finally dug into Breaking Bad. I've finished the first to seasons. Starts off slow, but I like how it continually builds. I'm really enjoying it. Once you get about halfway through S3, the show explodes and takes off until the very end. Very intense and crazy s***.
  11. Saw Dallas Buyer's Club tonight. Thought it was a decent movie, but I have no interest in seeing it again.
  12. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 9, 2014 -> 02:07 PM) In the 10 minutes I played, I fear that I will have the same issue. I just don't have the patience to get into games like I used to. I need to get in and out. It's really sad growing old and losing that video game love. I used to be able to play WoW or SimCity or whatever for hours and hours on end. Now I can barely sit for an hour. Oh, I can still game for hours on end. Like I said in this thread, I was playing the s*** out of Grid 2. Playing like 3+ hours of it every night. But with Max Payne 3 I felt it was too much just sitting and watching a storyline that I didn't care about. At least in GTA 5 the storyline was funny and really cool. And in AC4, I knew the backstory. But I don't know, maybe I'll go back and play some more of it.
  13. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 9, 2014 -> 10:16 AM) So one reason I love console games more than PC games, despite my preference for keyboard/mouse over a controller: not having to spend hours "fixing" a game that I just downloaded. I got the Max Payne 3 package deal from Amazon for 6.99 last week. After taking a full day to download, I was excited to play it last night. I click on the shortcut and boom, immediate failure. Something about not being able to find a game key. Literally 2 hours of internet searching and basically hacking my way into the game later, I was able to play it. By then it was 11pm and I had no more energy. With a console you stick the disc in and play. No bulls***. Speaking of Max Payne 3. I bought it back in October when Rockstar was doing a "Preorder GTA 5 and get 75% off all Rockstar games". So I bought it for like $5 back then. I've played the game once and never since. The controls were just too weird and the "play 5 minutes, watch 5 minutes" aspect never got me involved in the game. I think I played for about 2 hours.
  14. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 8, 2014 -> 11:43 PM) You could always connect a PS3/PS4 controller. Those are bluetooth devices and will actually work with most games if you just plug it into your phone/tablet. Or there's an app that'll connect it for you via bluetooth. Sony can easily implement that if they really wanted to. That's a good point. I didn't event think about how the controllers are bluetooth. You could play all the great Playsation games on your PC with a wireless PS3/PS4 controller in your hands, which makes it quite literally a portable playstation. Hello, long plane rides.
  15. Wolf of Wall Street. Holy s*** what a long movie. I liked it, but man they could have cut out an hours worth of drugs and hookers scenes. That dude lived a crazy life, and according to Time Magazine, most of the insane s*** in the movie was actually true. For anyone who has seen the movie already (or not I guess), I found an hour long interview with the real Jordan Belfort from 3 years ago (before the movie even began filming) where he talks about his crazy life and story. http://vimeo.com/8747076
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 8, 2014 -> 05:38 PM) Differentiates from the Cam torrents. VidSync/Cam whatever is a guy with a camcorder in a theater. DVDRip is usually from a screener which is at least 720p Yeah, nearly every movie gets put up online within a couple weeks of theater release, but they are s***ty cam videos with bad sound and dark video. The DVDrips are the only ones worth watching. Thankfully, it being award season, almost every new movie is coming out on DVD much sooner than normal. Usually it takes 2-4 months after theater release to get a DVD rip. Now, they are around a week. Great time of year to watch movies.
  17. Wolf of Wall Street is now DVD quality!! Yeeeeeees! Also, "Her" is online now too.
  18. QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 8, 2014 -> 02:19 PM) I've heard almost no discussion of Thomas on ESPN I've been watching MLB Network for the past 2 hours, and it's been almost exclusively about Maddux and Glavine playing together, and John Smoltz has been in studio discussing it all. Now, since the announcement, they've just talked about other pitching duos in the Hall, and right now Maddux and Glavine are both being interviewed, with John Smoltz there too. Poor Frank, no one outside Chicago seems to give a s***.
  19. This Maddux/Glavine lovefest is overshadowing anyone talking about Frank. BOOOOOO
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 8, 2014 -> 01:59 PM) Ok Joe, we all know you give no f***s. Point made Yet we have a page full of the same 2 people repeating how awful they thought the movie was. Talk about "point made".
  21. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 8, 2014 -> 01:37 PM) 4% on Rotten Tomatoes. Ouch Yeah, and Billy Madison got a 46%, and Big Daddy a 40%, Mr. Deeds a 22%, and Grandma's Boy a 18%. And that's just from one actor who has put out these cult classic comedies. Excuse me while I continue to not give a f*** what Rotten Tomatoes thinks of comedies. I understand a lot of people didn't like it, and that's fine, but telling me critics hate a raunchy comedy means nothing to me. Couldn't mean any less, actually.
  22. QUOTE (MEANS @ Jan 8, 2014 -> 01:31 PM) funny you mention that movie, the wife and I tried to watch it yesterday on Netflix.....wow that was HORRIBLE! Turned it off after 25 minutes......so so so bad. Hahah, have you seen Kentucky Friend Movie? Or The Onion movie? All fit the same type of ridiculous satire. The homeschooling sketch had me rolling when they wrote "KEVIN IS A f**" on the fridge. Loved this scene too... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNiPSY5nT2Y "I feel like at any moment Shoeless Joe Jackson will come out of there and I can play catch with him."
  23. Oh man, I watched Movie 43 last night and thought it was hilarious. The scenes tying the shorts together were dumb, but the shorts themselves were hilarious. It really did remind me of a modern Kentucky Fried Movie, with less nudity.
  24. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 8, 2014 -> 10:48 AM) ALso for the record, I was posting at Joe because I found his posts irritating, which of course is why he is doing it. I just think he is derailing a good thread by making posts solely for the purpose of irritating other posters who brought it up (long before I ever said anything, so no, not talking about myself here). That, my friend, is what is "cutesy". Lol, yeah, I'm just trying to enrage people with my offensive posts about Blue Jasmine being found online. Clearly you've arrived at this way-off-base destination simply because since I've begun doing it, some people have for whatever reason (read: no good reason) have been annoyed by it and that hasn't caused me to stop. You act like I started doing this directly after some conversation started where everyone said not to do it, and I decided to say "f*** YOU GUYS" and start doing it. No. I did it, then people complained, then I continued giving no f***s because people whining for no reason isn't going to make me ruin it for people who have already expressed value in me posting it for them. Like someone said in the 2013 thread, this is one of the dumbest conversations on this site right now. When will people learn to ignore a 1 sentence post made once every day or two? Somehow that doesn't seem like a burden.
  25. Captain Phillips is online now.
