  1. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 12:10 AM) We should trade DeAza and Rienzo to the Royals for Wade Davis. Coop would fix him. Royals are ghey. That would really hurt them but they might do it. I'd rather see us trade De Aza, Beckham, Petricka, and Rienzo to the Orioles for Matt Weiters.
  2. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 11:22 PM) If these guys are any good it'll sure make whatever the cubs are doing look hopeless Of what importance are the Cubs to us?
  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 02:59 PM) Bro, he's not Grady Sizemore. Meanwhile... TUESDAY: A team that spoke to the Phillies about Brown informed ESPN's Jayson Stark that Philadelphia doesn't sound enthused about the idea of moving Brown and is looking for two to three young players in return (Twitter link) MONDAY: The Phillies are "actively shopping" Domonic Brown with an eye toward selling high on him in an effort to acquire controllable young pitching, reports Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports (on Twitter). Dayan, Beck, Rienzo/Snodgress, and Hawkins? Could that be a thing? Oh my lord, that is awful. Of those guys, I would give them Beck + Rienzo/Snodgress, hopefully Snodgress.
  4. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 08:32 PM) Oh shift forgot that Gambino came out today how is it? So far, not as much "songs" as I would like. I am on track 11 now, and only like 5 of them are songs. 2 or 3 of them are interludes, and the others are like 90 seconds long with 1 verse. I think I may still end up liking Camp better.
  5. QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 08:18 PM) People buy CDs still? Whoa. It's my first CD purchase since 2008. If I am going to ever actually purchase music, it will be a CD. I'll never pay for digital music. And I wanted to support Gambino, so that's why I actually decided to pay money.
  6. There is absolutely no reason to give up on Viciedo yet. Give him another year in LF, then let him naturally move right in to the DH role in 2015 where he can just focus on being a great hitter. Then if he still can't hit as a full-time DH, then you can worry about moving him, which will be when he is still only age 26 and under contract. I mean, who else is going to DH for this team in 2015? We have no power studs in the minors who don't have a position. Our best bet would be like Andy Wilkins.
  7. Today was a struggle, but I pumped out a 2000 word feature story and reflection paper, had it all in by 5 pm, picked up the new Childish Gambino CD and then had a farewell get together for my major. Now off to the Hawks game at a buddy's house. Today was a real busy day all around.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 05:13 PM) Eno Sarris ‏@enosarris 9m "Eaton is our center fielder and we will continue to take calls -- as we have been -- on DeAza and Viciedo" - Rick Hahn Love the transparency there by Hahn. Just deal De Aza off for a couple mid-level prospects.
  9. QUOTE (bulokis @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 03:26 PM) It looks like it. I feel like we sold low on Hector but hopefully Hahn has more in mind. Just Eaton, or Eaton + a prospect from one of these teams. There has been no clear answer. I'll hold my breath for Stryker Trahan.
  10. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 03:21 PM) Everybody does not need a nickname. He already has one. It's Spanky.
  11. One PTBN from #Angels, one from #WhiteSox to #DBacks in 3-team deal. Angels' player eligible for Rule 5 draft. White Sox's guy might be too
  12. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 02:52 PM) I bet this was assigned to you at the beginning of the semester. Not entirely. We didn't pick our subjects until the beginning of November. So I've had a little over a month.
  13. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 02:50 PM) So what's the consensus here, is this Eaton guy going to be a butcher in the field? Speed and arm strength apparently right? Is he inept out there? I don't want some bumblebee out there bumbling around in the field, not for Santiago anyway. I don't think he is going to be a butcher at all, but I also don't think he sounds like he will be a stud either. He has the speed an an apparently strong arm, so that's working for him. But being 5'8" probably hurts a bit.
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 02:43 PM) The cold cut combo at Subway has really fallen off, never again getting that thing. I had one like 3 times this week before I realized it had bologna on it. But still $2 for a 6-inch is a preeeeety good deal. I graduate in 5 days, so I really don't want to have to go grocery shopping again.
  15. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 02:47 PM) Stop being a procrastinating bum? It's reeeeeeeally a struggle.
  16. I've been up for 2 hours now to get my final paper done of college, which is now due 2 hours from now, but this damn trade has totally distracted me. How am I supposed to write a beautiful feature story with this looming over my day? HOW!!??!!?!?!?
  17. QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 02:40 PM) Now people are just making stuff up with the Albert Pujols involvement in the deal......rumor Lol, what? AZ doesn't have 1B open, and Sox don't have 1B or DH open. If that troll was smarter, he would have lied and said Josh Hamilton.
  18. QUOTE (scs787 @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 02:37 PM) I hope Avi ends up being a middle of the lineup bat. I've been saying this for awhile, and my logic may be off but, I wanna see Lexi hit 2nd behind a guy who can consistently get on base(Eaton looks like he can be that guy). Last 3 years Lexi has hit .304/.346/.439 with runners on, in 749 ABs. I'm thinking Eaton-Lexi-JDA-Dunn-Avi 1-5. I don't mind that set-up, but I have a feeling that it will be Eaton (L) Alexei ® Dunn (L) JDA ® Avi ® Just to keep consistent w/ the L-R-L-R at the top of the order, and I think maybe the hope is that JDA will get Adam Dunn more fastballs to hit, assuming JDA becomes a feared enough hitter.
  19. QUOTE (GoGoSox2k2 @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 02:35 PM) I think people are drastically understating Eaton. He was also ranked ahead of them both heading into last year in the dbacks top 10 prospects. A year ago today, we would have been laughed at and hung up on if we offered Hector for Eaton It's funny because before last season I picked my AL and NL ROYs as Wil Myers and Adam Eaton. At least I got one of those right.
  20. There is a report now that the player the Dbacks would get from the Angels would have to pass through the Rule-5 draft on Thursday, which means this deal may not even get finalized for another 2 days. That blows. I hope that doesn't stop Hahn from making other moves now because he has to make sure this one goes through.
  21. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 02:15 PM) And of course you have guys like Beck and Snodgress who are probably just a season away, if that Snodgress doesn't impress me at all, actually. Struggles to put up a 2+ K/BB.
  22. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 02:14 PM) Coming into 2013, Skaggs was a top 10-15 prospect. I think the D Backs got the worst of the deal. Trumbo has been going backwards. Right. Dbacks got screwed, Angels made out awesomely, and the Sox are kind of just in the middle somewhere.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 02:12 PM) I know I'm going to get backlash for this, but what exactly is this surplus of pitching the Sox have? Guys like Rienzo can be found in every organization. Sale-Quintana-Danks-Johnson-Santiago-Rienzo-Paulino
