  1. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 11:46 PM) I hate people who think JR is cheap. When all he has done is proved over and over again that he is not. I thought he was making a Charles Comiskey reference.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 06:41 PM) Well, Molina's given up 90 hits in 69 IP. That's not going to work, no matter how good his control is. Single, double, double, single, 3-0 now against the Barons...still batting in the 1st. 7 hits/15 AB's. ERA back up to 5.06 after getting down to 4.74 entering today. And then down to 4.66 by the end of the game. He pitched 7 innings, 8 Hits, 3 ER, 1 BB, 2 K. Clearly he shut it down the rest of the game.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 10:43 AM) They are very scary creatures for sure. I'm pretty sure the 300 pounders are in the south though. They get big around us, but not that big. Down in georgia/alabama/louisiana they can sit in those bogs and swamps and grow all year round with very little threat of freezes that could kill them. There was an old Jeff Corwin Adventure show where he was in Louisiana and he pulled a breeding female out of a mud puddle that had to be approaching 200 pounds. He stuck a stick in front of her face and she chomped it in half. I will look on youtube to see if I can find the clip. Please don't. I wet the bed enough as it is over this thing.
  4. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 10:28 AM) What happened? I can't find anything on the Sox site? I didn't hear it either, but Twitter is our friend in this case.... Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien White Sox say it's tightness in both hamstrings for Viciedo. He was in pain on that hit. Get him some Gatorade. I'd say Danks probably gets the start in the OF today.
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 09:33 AM) Did you lose any fingers or toes when you didnt know they were there before? Snappers are very common in lakes. They stay away from people, they will only bite when provoked, and they are usually really deep in the mud. I wouldnt worry too much No, but now that they know I am there, they will be gunning for me! I've heard the read the internet for potential victims.
  6. Going to my first game as well. Will be leaving early to eat lunch at Bicardi in the Park, watch BP, and soak up all the glory behind the Sox dugout.
  7. I'll be there, and the Captain always shines on my presence. Paulie K, please.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 05:24 PM) the craziest thing about Alligator and normal snapping turtles? They can extend their necks halfway up their shell while snapping. So if you had your hand on the top of its shell in the middle, theoretically it can bite your hand. I rescued one off of Shoefactory road in Hoffman Estates a few summers ago, and I saw it happen. I grabbed that bad boy by the back of his shell when i picked it up and it snapped at me a few times. You would never think its neck would bend that way, and you wouldnt think it was that long. Thanks, makes me feel MUCH better about swimming there now!
  9. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 04:05 PM) I'm a very messy person when it comes to my personal spaces. A game I play is that when I get home I empty my pocket of change right onto my bedroom floor and have a nice surprise when I clean. Today's haul? $17.89 I do the same thing, but in a jar or in a little pile on my dresser. I don't just Make it Hail in my room.
  10. QUOTE (farmteam @ May 25, 2012 -> 12:49 AM) I'm the complete opposite. I've never had much of a desire to wear a watch, either for fashion or time-keeping purposes. Same. I was given a watch when I was younger, and never wanted to wear it. And to this day, I have no desire to ever wear a watch.
  11. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 04:36 PM) We already nicknamed him D2 like four f***ing years ago. Yeah, D2 and JorDanks have been around for a while now.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 03:32 PM) By the way...Apple yesterday was awarded a patent on "Wedge shaped computers" taht could basically ban all "Ultrabook" type Windows computers because of the shape. Sounds about right.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 03:06 PM) http://www.duquoin.com/news/x721954519/PCH...icago-White-Sox Grand Falls, Minnesota or Bristol, Tennessee? Huh?
  14. Not really a "pet" at all, but someone posted a picture of an "alligator snapper turtle" they found in our lake. I actually found a dead one last summer floating near our shoreline. These things looks scary, and can be up to 300+ pounds. They eat meat, and can easily take off fingers and toes. Needless to say, I'm pretty nervous to go to our lake house now. I've always been weary of water creatures, but now I'm freaked out actually seeing one in our lake.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 03:09 PM) That was JoeCoolMan. Somebody said something about their girlfriend not knowing baseball and Joe just straight up said he didn't have one. Funny as hell.
  16. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 11:05 AM) Dogs are amazing Love it. My dog always acts like the protector of my niece and nephew. She always has to sleep next to their cribs, and wherever they are, my dog follows.
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 7, 2012 -> 10:32 PM) 26,000 in attendance is encouraging after the 2 previous losses. Any game we draw 25-30K is a moral victory this season. And any production from 3B is a Morel victory.
  18. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 12:25 AM) Paulie said best crowd yet this year, props to all attendees. How many was it?
  19. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jun 7, 2012 -> 09:53 PM) Apple is overcharging their customers because people are paying for the brand?! No way! It's quite amazing how easy it is for them, once they herd the sheep.
  20. Kevin Goldstein did a "Projection of category leaders" for 2012 draftees. Basically, which player who was just drafted is the most likely to lead the draft class in each stat....... He picked Courtney Hawkins to lead the 2012 draft class in Homeruns....
  21. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 7, 2012 -> 04:33 PM) You changed your view format. Use the board's standard format. Well that's what I figured. But I just figured it out. It's under the "OPTIONS" tab at the top of the post, and then "standard view". Phew!
  22. Another reason we should hope for Chris Beck to stay as a starter and succeed. A future 1-2 rotational punch of Beck N' Sale. Mmmhmmm. Now we just need to get someone with the last name Kate.
