  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 10:26 PM) Any metric that has Jackson higher than Humber this year is bogus to me Well, they are actually tied with a 1.7. But as MattZ said, WAR understands BABIP (At least I'm pretty sure). Humber has been good, but he has also been pretty lucky, and his peripherals don't scream "dominance".
  2. No idea how Jackson handles the bat, but it's safe to assume that Alexei will be batting with 2 outs next inning.
  3. Jackson is so bad that he has the highest WAR of any starter on this staff. Whoops, wasn't supposed to say that.
  4. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 10:10 PM) I wouldn't have even trade Lucas Harell for Jackson Oh my gosh, some of you guys are soooo dramatic. I COULD PITCH BETTER THAN JACKSON!! AHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, we get it.
  5. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 10:08 PM) IMO, KW is the biggest problem not Ozzie. Ozzie is STILL a huge problem, but not as bad as KW. I didn't word that correctly. I didn't mean Kenny wasn't at blame too, I just mean he isn't going to lose his job mid-season. So wishing for the Sox to fail so he can get fired tomorrow is not worth it.
  6. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 10:07 PM) Kenny isn't absolved of all blame. I have issues with both. Yeah, but I'm saying you wouldn't fire him mid-season because of what is happening in 2011. It's not like if they fire him tomorrow the team will all the sudden be better. GM does not have a direct impact on the team day in and day out. However, if you fire Ozzie, then you could definitely see changes immediately.
  7. s***, what was I thinking sitting Montero against our Sox? Good thing Arrencibia went 0-4.
  8. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 10:02 PM) I'll take a beatdown in this game if this is what it takes to get Kenny Williams fired. Lol, what? Not only is there 0% chance Kenny will get fired mid-season, but Ozzie is the problem, not Kenny.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 10:00 PM) That was the clearest balk you'll ever see. He'll, ej balked twice there. Clearest balk you'll ever see? Not even close. However, that was 100% a balk, but that ump must have eagle eyes to have seen that s***. His leg twitched a couple times and he was done.

  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 09:51 PM) Ummm....there's no way in hell that's not Bo Jackson in his prime. Or Roberto Clemente. One of those two. You think I've REALLY seen every throw in the history of baseball? Obviously I am exaggerating to prove a point. But either way, it's the strongest throw I'VE ever seen in my life.
  12. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 09:50 PM) any1 know how far PK hit that flyout? Warning track. Looked like it might go out.
  13. Detroit is getting shelled by the Rockies. 9-1 in the 4th.
  14. Steve Stone is absolutely correct, Parra probably has the best arm in baseball. It's sick. That's how I fell in love with that guy in the first place. If anyone cares, I'll find the video of the strongest throw in the history of baseball.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 08:37 PM) Dude... We weren't dominant down the stretch because Q wasn't there. Exactly. When you lose the MVP favorite for a whole month, you are going to struggle.
  16. This really is a beautiful ballpark. Love the look of the backstop, the pool in center, the restaurant in LF, and the massive wall in CF. Very cool park.
  17. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 08:27 PM) So, what kind of offense does Arizona have? Not that the Twins had any. Upton, Montero, Young, and Drew are the guys that could kill us. Oh, and of course the best defensive OF in baseball, and one of the best LF in baseball this year... my boy Gerardo Parra.
  18. QUOTE (Bighurt52235 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 07:18 PM) I feel fairly certain that I could drive a ball out of Willaimsport with a standard claw hammer. What do you guys think? Anyone hit a ball 200+ feet with something other than a bat? Lol, quite an odd thread. My friends and I used to use tennis rackets as baseball bats, and play with tennis balls. Probably hit it over 200 feet. And we used to hit kickballs with baseball bats, probably only hit them like 100 feet though. And we used to hit golfballs with a baseball bat, and those go like 400 feet, but I don't recall ever trying to hit a BASEBALL with something other than a baseball bat. Hell, we almost never played with real baseballs anyway.
  19. 3 hours until gametime. Ugh, I hate west coast games.
  20. Wow, I would have never guessed. He is always a player that I never notice or pay attention to somehow.
  21. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 06:12 PM) 1 or 2 is perfect. I just find it hard to make myself commit an hour to it by myself. Someone else watching with me would motivate me. I definitely like someone else to watch the same show as me so I can have someone to bounce ideas off of. Unfortunately, hardly any of my friends/family watch the same shows as me.

  23. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 04:34 PM) I get distracted way too easily when I'm watching a show of that intensity and drama by myself, I can usually only watch comedies by myself. Same is true for movies. Wouldn't someone else being there provide more distraction? Usually I can never watch a serious show with more than like 1 or maybe 2 other people.
  24. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 17, 2011 -> 01:20 PM) What is it with your man crush on Andy Wilkins? It's worse than NSS with Remenowsky. But at least Remenowsky might actually make the major leagues How do I have a man crush on him? I can't remember the last time I ever brought him up outside of the daily minor league recaps. But regardless, he is still having a good season. Not as well as he did in RK ball last year, but he still is doing well enough to be selected for the all-star team, and being 22 in High-A, he is age appropriate.
