QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 08:56 PM) You guys are nuts. It was a nice way to pick up a run. If Juan has to play, it was good use of Juan. Greg is right. Since Juan is an automatic out, we might as well force his out to be productive. I mean, the chances of him scoring a run with a full swing are pretty astronomical.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 08:30 PM) Kevan Smith, 2011 draftee from Boston College, 2-2 with a HR so far. That kid is gonna move FAST. Born in 1988. He better get out of rookie ball soon.

Viciedo is 2/2 with 2 singles. It seems like he hasn't had a 1 hit day in a long time. Nice start for Rangel Ravelo. 2/2 with a 2B, 3B.

Yeah, you can't pitch around Starling F'in Castro. Pitching around a who isn't a power threat, but can steal a bunch of bases? Not a good game plan.

QUOTE (LayelBurton @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 01:13 AM) GF's Qualon Millender is the 2011 BaseballAmerica's Fastest Base-runner for the White Sox organization. Went 3-6 2R 3B 2RBI 2K tonight (Spent 2010 w. Bristol) Also keep an eye on Jon Bachanov ('07 Angels' Supp. 1st Rounder) 2.0IP 1H 0R/ER 4K tonight in White Sox debut. Millender is what, like 24 years old in rookie ball? I'm not holding my breath on that guy. However, Bachanov seems like an interesting arm. Former 1A pick who has put up great peripherals just about every year (although that's just in Rookie ball and low-A ball). Maybe he could be something. http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/p...id=bachan001jon

Sox "trying to get a return on investment"

QUOTE (Real @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 12:43 AM) lol, two pages and still nobody has offered their opinion? Teahen or Pierre in LF? I would MUCH rather have Teahen's poor defense and left handed pop in the lineup than Pierre's poor defense and NOTHING in the lineup I know Teahen's power is subjective, but put simply, he can hit homers and extra base hits, Pierre can't. Pierre can't even turn singles into doubles with SB, which makes him USELESS Yep. It's just so bad we are saying "Which player would hurt us the least in LF" when we have a kid flat out dominating AAA who plays the same position and can be an IMPACT PLAYER. Such a s***ty position to be in right now. -
Man, I really wish Reed was still starting. He looks like he has overpowering stuff. Sounds like if he can just learn 1 more pitch, and get it to a respectable level, it seems he SHOULD be able to start. Doesn't he have 2 plus pitches with 1 decent one? He should be able to get by with 2 plus and 2 decent pitches, I would think.

I'll start paying attention to Great Falls/Bristol when some of the signees start playing. I can't imagine anyone on that team right now is anything but a loooooooongshot prospect.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 10:54 PM) I thought it was 4 times? Either way, he's hilariously bad right now. I really don't even get mad. No, he struck out 3 times, and then nearly hit a HR in his 4th AB. -
Sure, you can trade Konerko if you want even less fans showing up than now. Paulie is the biggest fan favorite this team has had since Frank. You trade him now, in the midst of back-to-back outstanding seasons, and the fans will throw a fit. Paulie is a lifer.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 07:54 PM) I'd appreciate that. Thanks. We both worked at opposite times today, so I didn't get a chance to see him before he went to sleep, so I will try to remember to ask tomorrow night when he gets off work.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 02:51 PM) Kuhn has a higher ceiling than that. I'd say Chone Figgins in his prime. thats very optimistic -
Is Viciedo a top 100 prosect?
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to whitesoxbrian's topic in FutureSox Board
I would think 100 easily. Top 50, probably. -
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 02:10 PM) Good point, I forgot. In all seriousness though, he hasn't exactly sucked lately. Not showing much power but he's been putting the bat on the ball and improving. He's a rookie and showing improvement, he should be playing. No, he has not. Hitting .279 in June. If this guy was playing every day, or at least 5 times a week, he would probably have his average up to .270-.280 range by now.

That would be another white sox winner!

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 02:30 AM) Eh, he did finish 5th in AL MVP voting last season not far behind Jose Bautista. He is probably going to win the AL POTM for June. Him, Verlander, or Adrian Gonzalez. -
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 01:05 AM) I have a question. Couldn't find an answer anywhere online. We have an 18 foot, round, above-ground pool, 52 inches deep and we're thinking about buying an underwater pool to light it up at night. Does anyone know how much light will be enough for the whole thing? They have 35, 50 and 100 watt lights and I have no clue which one to get. I can ask my dad what watt pool light we have in ours. Our pool is probably 52 inches deep, maybe 12 feet wide, and 26 feet long? I'm just guessing, but's it's a rather large oval. Our light is in one corner of the pool, and it does a great job lighting the whole thing. It is somewhat dark in the very opposite end, and obviously when someone sits in front of the light, but it's definitely sufficient. I'll try to remember to ask.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 19, 2011 -> 11:20 PM) Only ones I follow (and high on) are Viciedo, Short, Reed, Buch, Reinzo and Thompson. (I just keep a lookout on guys like Dan Black because I've met him before, Gallagher cause he was my sleeper pick two years ago, Marrero cause his situation is a little bit similiar to 07-08 David Cook and Flowers' walk numbers) Oh, though not a prospect, but Shane Lindsay just for the laughs. When you have a WHIP higher than your ERA. You are either doing something really good, really bad, or a combination. His statline is an enigma.
