  1. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 10:40 AM) You sir, are correct. I thought it was whoever had the lead the series before they tied won the cup? Because I thought last year the Sox just had to win Game 1 or Game 2 in the second series last year to secure the cup because even the Cubs won the other two, the last team to have a lead was the Sox, and they therefor, won? I don't know, why they wouldn't break the tiebreaker with point differential is beyond me.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 08:11 AM) Wasn't Mike Lowell quite good on defense before the injuries piled up? Mike Lowell was awesome on defense. So if Ravelo's comp is Lowell, then we shouldn't be hoping he can "stick it at 3B".
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 10:06 PM) Anyone here think Pujols' contract will even be within $25m of $300m? I'm think he could have lost 10% or so because of this downseason and now injury.
  4. QUOTE (hawkubes @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 12:39 AM) It can be done. See David Robertson, getting the job done for the yankees this year. G GS W L SV BS HLD CG SHO IP H R ER HR BB K ERA WHIP BAA 32 0 1 0 0 2 13 0 0 29.1 21 5 4 0 20 47 1.23 1.40 .193 Right, that's what I'm saying. You either have a very good ERA (Like Robertson), a really bad WHIP, or a combination (like Lindsay).
  5. QUOTE (Bruce_Blixton @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 10:56 PM) Rangel Ravelo is off to a hot start in Bristol, really like this kid. He's drawn comparisons to Mike Lowell, projectable power, hope his defense lets him stick at 3B. Does.Not.Compute.
  6. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 12:30 AM) How does a team surrender a triple to A.J. ? I And in US Cellular field no less.
  7. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 19, 2011 -> 11:34 AM) So I tried watching The Tudors last night on Netflix. Season 1, Epiosode 1 starts off "Previously on The Tudors" and then shows like 1 or 2 minutes of all this quick information and important looking scenes. Is this really how the series starts, or has Netflix misnamed the episodes? I watched like 10 minutes and couldn't figure out really what was happening. It started with a play being rehearsed, and Rhys-Meyers naming some guy as Duke. Anybody?
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 08:45 AM) Have you heard Ozzie's comments on Juan? All he cares about is that Juan's .260 batting average is higher than Dunn/Rios/Teahen. Yeah, but Ozzie doesn't make the decisions, which is my point. I think at some point Kenny has to say "to Hell with Ozzie", and do what's right for the team, not for Ozzie's golden boy.
  9. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 02:08 PM) Many hitters who are able to swing both ways will switch it up to get that "feel" back. Many times a player had learned how to swing the other way at a later time, and generally were being taught perfect mechanics when learning compared to learning as a youngster. Thus, the hitter can get out of their little habits that they may have had before adjusting their swing correctly. I remember hearing earlier in the year that Alexei was taking BP left-handed, and doing quite well.
  10. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 11:05 AM) I like the Brewers' retro logo. It's so clever. M.O.B.!
  11. QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 01:14 PM) Milledge is quietly putting together a solid season in AAA. So that's option number 2 of people the Sox have rotting in Charlotte who could take over for Pierre and be better.... Thanks to a solid May and a fantastic June. He really started the season poorly, but he is definitely coming around.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 07:53 AM) What a unique and original joke. How on Earth did you come up with it so quickly? I apologize, Mrs. Walker.
  13. If Konerko hits another HR before he strikes out again, he will have just many HR as K's in June (11).
  14. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 03:07 AM) Aramis and Soto missed a couple of those pitches by at least 16 inches. Sergio also threw 2 or 3 hanging sliders that most hitters would deposit into the outfield crowd.
  15. "In-between swings, Beckham chatted with hitting coach Greg Walker about the type of adjustments struggling .230 hitters need to discuss." Walker - "Have you tried just closing your eyes and swinging for a home run every pitch?.....Oh you have?.....Well just keep trying that, it will work eventually"
  16. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 10:00 PM) Well that movie was just perfectly cast. And Marley and Me was on tv tonight, still gets to me. Im such a softy for dogs and lost a dog when I was a young teen, last time I cried was when that dog died. I can not watch that movie. I balled at the movies watching it. Worst experience during any movie.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 09:06 PM) Dunn whiffs again. He needs a stint in the minors. He just does. Adam Dunn is not going to the minors, he just isn't.
  18. Dunn never seems to get mad about striking out 2-3 times a game or getting booed by everyone in the park. Can't tell if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
  19. I have a feeling my power is about to go out. Wind is whipping trees around in my backyard, and the lights just flickered. This spring/summer sucks so far.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 09:00 PM) Exactly. I hate Juan like the rest of you, but I give him his props there. It was the right use of Juan. Omar and CQ deserve some blame, not the bunt. Curious how Ozzie realizes Juan had no chance to get the run home without the squeeze bunt, yet still plays him every single day.
  21. Buehrle's change-up is pretty devastating so far. Cubs are just waving at it.
