7/5 Sox v. Royals
ChiliIrishHammock24 replied to Swingandalongonetoleft's topic in 2011 Season in Review
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 09:13 PM) So what the f*** is it with this team. We take fastballsdown the cock, then swing at s*** in the dirt. It's hard to drive in runners when you get it backwards. I'm going to take a wild guess and say you turned the game on right when The Bridge came up to bat. -
Interesting information of Brandon Inge

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 08:53 AM) I don't think you could be more wrong... Brandon Inge is one of the better guys in professional sports, as far as I am concerned. He does extensive work with sick children and the children's hospitals in the Detroit area. Linky The fans recognize this and he is indeed a fan favorite because of it. Yeah, every Tigers fan I know loves Inge. Hell, I even like Inge. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 08:53 PM) Let's just say the anticipation is nowhere near what it was for Beckham, Mitchell or Sale. Then again, he was a comp pick. Agreed.

Great bunt Brent! -
Danks was 1/1 with a BB, SB. 9/10 in SB now.
-
They seem to be pretty cautious with Petricka. 4 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 07:05 PM) It's telling the lack of 'enthusiasm' over this guy. Nobody cared when he signed. Nobody really cares that he's debuting tonight. Hopefully he proves me wrong. Or because this is about the 4th different time we have heard that he signed. It was talked about in the minor league thread last week when it first came out he was signed, and people have asked why he hasn't played yet as well.

I voted probably around 20 times for PK/Ethier.

I hope you are suggesting they are trying to find a creative way to get Viciedo on this team, and not that they would trade him, because I would scream like a child.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 04:56 PM) New Blackhawks' numbers: Carcillo 13 Olesz 85 Brunette 15 Mayers 22 O'Donnell 6 Montador 5 Good, the #13 sucks anyway.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 5, 2011 -> 01:48 AM) Viciedo hitting 4th? The White Sox taking on Derek Lowe's contract? HUH? Pierre Beckham Konerko Dunn Ramirez AJ Viciedo Rios Morel Until Dunn puts together a solid week, I won't be sold he has figured anything out. And with the way Viciedo is tearing up AAA, and in his brief time in the MLB last year, I think he could certainly be a #4-#5 type guy on a team with only 1 legit power hitter (Konerko). EDIT: Also, it seems you are looking at your lineup as "if everyone plays like they should", because there is no way Beckham deserves the 2-hole spot, or Dunn the 4th spot yet.

WTF are we waiting for ? Call up Viciedo !

QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 12:28 AM) If he isn't called up between the 3rd and the 7th - heads are gonna roll on this site. Well.....it's now almost 2 hours in to July 5th. I'm sharpening my pitchfork..... -

I'm not sure what to think of that list. I feel like some of those are pretty plausible, and then some are pretty unlikely, like his high jump and especially kicking a 60-yard FG. -
Oh hey there Jared Mitchell, have yourself a game, huh kid? 3/3, 2 2B, HR, 3 RBI, 2 BB. Wow.
-
QUOTE (kevo880 @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 11:41 PM) Freakin De Aza just on fire lately. On a separate note, anyone thing Reed is going to make it to the Majors this year? 2 IP 5k tonight. Absolutely. And I wouldn't be surprised if it was before Sept. 1st.

QUOTE (BaseballNick @ Jul 4, 2011 -> 10:30 PM) Sox scouting Atlanta per Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe: Hmmm...that would be interesting. So we trade say Quentin for Beachy, and then maybe flip Danks/Floyd to the Yankees for some minor league pieces, maybe even a package around Danks for Montero. Peavy-Buehrle-Danks/Floyd-Humber-Jackson-Beachy Pierre Morel Konerko Viciedo Alexei AJ Dunn Rios Beckham I would be very satisfied w/ that team, especially when you assume we would get some decent prospects in return for Floyd, and especially Danks.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 01:54 AM) For some reason I decided to watch the 1st episode of Franklin & Bash....wow, this is awful I find it mindlessly entertaining. Not so say I keep up with it, but I have seen parts of it and it was decent.

Wilkins went 4/5 with a 2B.
-
QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 07:40 PM) Paulie should be in over Tex. With the DH, room for more. Why is there a DH in Arizona?
-
Ah, I see Kinney allowed his 2 inherited runners to score. Doesn't make Axelrod's line look sexy anymore.
-
QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 07:15 PM) Who's have thought he'd still even be on the team? This guy.
-
QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 2, 2011 -> 07:14 PM) Phil Humber could be the White Sox's representative the the All Star game. Miggy, Tex, and A-Gon will all make it over Paulie, right? Maybe Santos will get a selection, or maybe AJ.
-
That Dylan Axelrod sure learned how to pitch at some point.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!

So I'm out of town and missed this whole game. Boxscore says Humber went 7 innings, and Thornton went 1 2/3. So who recorded the last out? Did Thornton actually go 2 IP? Did the Cubs somehow get an automatic out somewhere?
