  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 05:48 PM) Has Rockstar ever published a Nintendo console title? I have no idea, but Rockstar doesn't publish AC anyway....
  2. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 05:36 PM) It streams the screen image from the console; it can't play anything by itself. Are you sure? I thought I heard an article that said you can take your game with you, as it plays remotely from your system.
  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 04:48 PM) This. I feel like when the controller is the main draw of a console, its a gimmick. The games need to be the main draw, and I feel like a lot of big developers are gonna do what they do with PS3 and 360 games, ignore the quirks of the controller (like how virtually no 3rd party games use SIXAXIS) and since the controller is the big draw, big 3rd party titles like Assassin's Creed and LA Noire will never see the light of day on WiiU and thus, it won't regain the "core" market. I am pretty sure I heard that AC has already been announced for the WiiU.
  4. White Sox 23rd rounder: Mike Marjama, C, Long Beach State. 6-2, 205 pound righty senior
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 04:19 PM) Blake Drake, RHP, Indiana St. Stupid parents. Sweet name, IMO.
  6. So how many people here are hoping that Walker does NOT sign, and goes to Utah instead?
  7. Peavy is headed to the DL. No word on who gets called up yet. Viciedo call up would be awesome.
  8. Rios may have a very lower BABIP, but his contact is weak. Might be some bad luck, but it's also just some weak, weak contact.
  9. White Sox 19th rounder: Kevin Vance, RHP, UConn. 6-0, 205 junior. 1.57 ERA as reliever. UConn still in NCAA tourney.
  10. White Sox 14th rounder: Mark Ginther, 3B, Oklahoma State. 6-3, 200 pound junior.
  11. White Sox 13th rounder: Chadd Krist, C, Cal. 5-11, 199. That's the 3rd Bear taken by the Sox. Cal still in NCAA tourney
  12. White Sox 12th rounder: Andrew Virgili, RHP, Lynn U. 6-2, 205
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 02:03 PM) How do you define "Panned out"? We've had some and traded them. Ryan Sweeney comes to mind there. That's what I meant, like HS players who ended up with a pro career, like Sweeney.
  14. LHP Blair Walters, Hawaii is 11th RD pick. Walters #'s in 2010 - http://thebaseballcube.com/profile.asp?P=blair-walters Good peripherals outside of H/9.
  15. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 01:54 PM) Sox haven't taken a prep player yet have they? No. Just wondering, but when was the last HS player we took who panned out for us? Because I think the last time we took a HS kid in the 1st RD was like Kris Honel in 2002.
  16. @conorglassey: The White Sox were linked to #Stanford LHP Scott Snodgress with pick 47. Getting him in the 5th round makes more sense.
  17. Well, Snodgress surely didn't have very good numbers at all 2009-2010. http://thebaseballcube.com/profile.asp?P=scott-snodgress
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 01:19 PM) "Until he becomes a starter" he's not a good pick. The point I'm trying to make is that there's a choice here, and it can be a good pick for the team even if he never starts because the team itself chose to put him in the reliever role. Ok, then agree to disagree, because I think never giving him a shot to start is completely asinine.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 01:11 PM) No, I get yours, you're telling me that a guy who is drafted at #13 who becomes a major league reliever is a failure of a draft pick. I'm disagreeing with that. No, I'm not.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 12:57 PM) And I'm disagreeing with this point. If a guy has the potential to be a a starter but winds up being most useful to the franchise in a bullpen role, that's fine for a #13 pick. That's the franchise deciding that the best way to maximize his value to them is in a bullpen role. Nevermind, we are clearly missing eachothers points.
  21. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 01:02 PM) I don't think so save for Soptic. I wouldn't expect you to like any of our picks, really.
  22. I'm going to guess that the Sox take a SS/2B with the next pick.
  23. So it seems that the Sox have draft a good crop of pitchers so far.
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 08:15 AM) If you draft a guy 13 and he turns out to be a good reliever, you're content with that. Most guys who are drafted after #10 never give you 1 WAR. But if you're drafting a guy at 13 who can only turn into a reliever, that's the bad strategy. Chris Sale at least still could be starting if the org chose to use him that way. And that's what I had said. I said UNTIL he becomes a starter, like, until the Sox actually decide to use him correctly, then he is not a good pick at #13, because all he has ever been so far has been a reliever.
