I'm not gay, so I guess my straight point of view doesn't really allow for me to say that friends calling each other gay is normal and forgivable behavior for a high schooler, but I hear people use the "R word" at least a few times a week either at work or in general and while that does does personally affect me, I also don't think they need to be ruined or lose their jobs over it. I just chalk it up as them being ignorant to it's connotations and it's effects on people. I also don't think it means they hate mentally challenged individuals or that they would ever use it towards a mentally challenged person to hurt them.

If his 2019 is anything like his 2018, his debut BETTER be in 2020. By midseason we could be looking at a top 20 prospect, similar to how Kopech is viewed. Save him until mid-April 2020 for service time. The only exception for me being if 2019 is somehow a competitive year and they want him to end his 2019 season by coming out of the Sox bullpen for a playoff push.

EVERY team passed on Cole Hamels before the Cubs. All 13 other NL teams passed on Murphy before the Cubs had a chance to claim him. This took a collection of all the other teams having their thumbs up their asses to get these guys to the Cubs. The Cubs had no advantages here, just unbelievable luck. EDIT: Nevermind on Hamels. I wasn't sure if he was a waiver pick up, and when I googled it, the "Cubs claim Hamels off waivers" headline was from 2014.
