  1. Sean Williams‏ @SeanW1754 25m25 minutes ago More Nick Madrigal just made an incredible diving play to get a force out at second-base. Wow. He apparently glove flipped it from his chest to 2B for the out. That's pretty sexy considering that's never a play he would have likely ever made playing 2B.
  2. Charlotte reached about 11,000 tonight, their highest of the season. Our minor league teams are having nearly as many as our major league club some nights.
  3. I haven't played any of those, but the Uncharted series is something I might jump in to at some point. Yeah, racing games always look awesome, but those games always reek havoc on my eyes for whatever reason. It's hard for me to play those in any substantial chunks.
  4. Has anyone made trite references to his fragility yet? If not, insert one here.
  5. Right, but if we are to believe he was going to come here and then decided to go some where else, it better be money reasons, something the Sox can't control.
  6. It damn well better be because he's being offered more elsewhere, and not just that he doesn't want to be here.
  7. I've only ever seen him slide feet first, unless you mean he is jamming his thumb when he puts his hand down to balance his feet-first slide.
  8. Fun Fact: Jesus Jr. has now gone 3 weeks without a "strikeout-less" game. 24 K's over his last 15 games. Although he does have 4 XBH over those 15 games, so he's at least selling out for power.
  9. Detroit: Become Human
  10. I still wouldn't characterize his time in AA as "not starting".
  11. Huh? He has started in every appearance except his last one, in which he had 11 days off between it. May have just been a rest thing, or part of the juggling act of promotions.
  12. If Jim Thome said it saps power, then I believe him. Said it took about 8 months for him to get full strength back.
  13. This is some of the meanest shit you've ever said.
  14. Wrist injury. Jim Thome, an authority on power, said it took about 8 months after his wrist surgery to regain his power. Wrists are pretty important for bat speed.
  15. Awesome! So stoked that Madrigal gets to end his career as a Champ, but also, please sign tomorrow and get this thing started.
  16. And it's apparently been very fruitful for them.
  17. That's a tremendous point. Hadn't even considered that.
  18. No I didn't, but thanks for the heads up. If nothing else, dreaming on him being anything like his father, or taking advice from his father, is pretty cool. We've seen a handful of big league sons recently make huge leaps in the last couple of years.
  19. I'm not asking if Tejada Jr will ever be good, I was just more-or-less asking if it's safe to assume he's not very highly touted, if a team like us with restrictions is able to sign him. Obviously most of these guys are complete lottery tickets, and there are many cases of random low signings turning out good, but if he's signing for $300K, he's probably not near the top of his class right now. Just tempering my enthusiasm.
  20. Players are running all over Cease. He's pretty slow to home. Kopech is working really fast, as the announcers have pointed out. He's getting it and throwing it, probably 12-15 seconds between pitches.
  21. Kopech surviving completely off of his fastball, and he's commanding it well. When he's missing, he's mostly missing high with it and the hitters are swinging at it. Escaped a lucky double (Chest high fastball inside that the batter tomahawked down the line for a double), and a walk in which he was very close on a couple of pitches to Hazelbaker. 2 more strikeouts. He's got 5 through 3 IP.
  22. What game are you watching? Durham gun has him at 95-99 for every pitch, and he had 0-2 counts on at least 2 of those 4 batters in the 2nd inning, getting both on strikeouts in the zone. His command just just fine to me, as his only walk was from nibbling.
  23. Damnit Quin, you stole my comment.
