Finished Far Cry 5. Really solid game, and I liked it much better than Far Cry 4, although I've never been disappointed in any version of that franchise (admittedly, I refuse to pay money for FC: Primal). I just started Detroit: Become Human and fuck is it beautiful. I don't even have a PS4 Pro, and yet it's still the best looking game I've ever played. Watchdogs 2 was probably the bar before this one. If you've played Heavy Rain, the goofy controls are still there, but I just adore the "choose your own adventure" storytelling that Quantic Dreams does. My girlfriend was super in to the first mission of the game. I let her make all the decisions, and she ended up saving the hostage's life (Played as a hostage negotiator/detective). So she was thrilled to "win" and wants to keep playing.

I agree. Until he starts tearing up AA, he doesn't really move the needle for me.

I don't know if it's just because an IU kid, but I'm very excited for him. Madrigal, Steele, Stiever, and Bilous are the ones I'm keeping the closest watch on, the first two guys being obvious. I actually like Steiver more than Pilkington.

I will only be looking for his BB and his Ks to a certain extent. I don't care if he gives up 5 or 6 runs, just pound strikes.

I've been enamored with Stubbs since we were all making Sale/Q to Astros deals over the last 20 months. He's been considered an above-average defensive catcher with an above-average arm, but he also happens to be hitting .356! this season in AAA, with a BB rate of about 10%, and a K% of only 13.5%. I guess the only knock against him is that he doesn't have much power. But with good defense, good arm, good eye, good contact, fuck it, no power is fine.

I think you'd have to add Nate Jones to make that work. Astros can't be desperate enough to get Abreu to give up their best "touchable" prospect in a deal that wouldn't help fix their more pressing need, their bullpen.

Also, as for the Sox scouting the Astros' minor league farm....I would say that's because the Sox have relievers to sell contenders, and are likely scouting all contenders for that reason, not because of a specific Abreu trade.

Hostetler, pretty likely, referred to Bukauskas' meltdown pre-draft last year as something that to paraphrase, "completely took him off of our board". I think if they hated his make-up then, they wouldn't like it any better now.

I think Abreu can get you one top 100 guy, and maybe 1 or 2 mid-tier guys. But what I wonder is if the Sox can pair Abreu up with one of our relievers, like we did with the Yankees trade last year. Go for one really high-end guy, like Alvarez, whom everyone is mentioning. But on his own, maybe something like LHP Cionel Perez, 3B JD Davis, and C Garrett Stubbs??

Not awful, but still wrong. The Dodgers overcame all of this and scored 2 in the 9th inning, down to their last strike, to win anyway.

Kemp and Roberts already got ejected over the awful calls, and this one caused Grandal to be ejected in the 9th, with the game on the line.

Oh I know, I just mean none of these guys are considered top signing, so I'm just trying to put our excitement in perspective. Hopefully a year from now when the chains come off, we can snag a top 10 guy or two.

I'm a little surprised Cease is already getting the call up. Not that he doesn't deserve it, or that 70 IP isn't a decent sample, but because both the Cubs and Sox have been so patient with him, I kind of expected him to have another month or two in W-S. But exciting nonetheless. Kind of interesting to see that Birmingham is netting 2 more outfielders. Do Muno and Brett get released? Or release an IF like Barnum or Basto?
