  1. It makes me wonder if they converted all of the early saves, and actually started the season 11-2, or whatever it was... Would they be a good team now? Did the bullpen woes infect this team mentally, and they just can't get out of it now? It's just a bad team with no balls.
  2. I wouldn't fire anyone during the season, because I don't think it will do anything. If they don't make the playoffs, I'd fire Kenny or hope he steps down. Then I'd hire Rick Hahn and let him have the power to retain or fire Ozzie.
  3. Watch them get an insurance run or two. Just to rub it in.
  4. That goes without saying. There's no good reason to have him on this roster right now. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 4, 2011 -> 03:01 PM) Speaking of, I wonder at what point we say f*** it for the season and start stretching him out for the future? Might as well get a head start right?
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2011 -> 02:47 PM) I wonder when last time we threw a runner out at the plate was from the outfield And who were the starting pitchers that game?
  6. I thought the Sox would win about 92 games this season. If they lose today, they'll have to go 80-50 the rest of the way to go 91-71. Our only hope is that the Indians aren't this good, and they start losing games in bunches.
  7. Gut feeling---there will be a roster move after this game, either today or tomorrow. Somebody will not be getting on the plane to Seattle tomorrow night.
  8. Too early to call this a disappointing season. I'll wait to the all-star break to declare them dead if they're 10 out. I'll go with 1994.
  9. Pierre, Ramirez, Dunn, Konerko, Quentin, Pierzynski, Rios, Teahen, Vizquel
  10. Just watching it, you could tell it wasn't that dominating of a performance. Loud outs, double plays, and a lot of swinging at bad pitches. The Sox just suck right now.
  11. Ethier at 29 games. Past the half-way point.
  12. If they don't have a decent May, boycotts won't matter. The attendance will suck the rest of the season if this really is a bad team.
  13. I think a more logical boycott would be to not go past this season if Kenny Williams remains GM after this season. That is, if they don't make the playoffs. There's still a lot of time left, but they can't have two bad months in a row. It's got to get rolling soon. So this is all on Kenny. He can do whatever he wants with the coaching staff, Ozzie, the players, whatever. But he has to pay without a playoff appearance this season.
  14. .500 by June 1. 19-11 from here to Boston. Do it.
  15. I had the Sox with 50 wins at the break. They have to go 40-27 to the break. Let's get it going tonight.
  16. Charlotte http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...ox&did=milb Flowers with a homer off Kevin Milwood. Birmingham http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...mobaax_biraax_1 Winston-Salem http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...frdafa_wswafa_1 Kannapolis http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...kanafx_lexafx_2 Ross Wilson hitting .350 Gm 1 http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...kanafx_lexafx_1
  17. Yeah, these are not fun days for the Sox or the fans. It's not going to get better for a while.
  18. Sunday lineup today. Alexei hitting 5th. Teahen, Lillibridge, Morel 7-8-9. Fun.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 05:26 PM) Come on guys, you're smarter than this. Evaluation time 1 every season is Memorial day. Deadline for legit consideration of trades is at earliest mid-June. I'm a June 1 evaluater, but if they go 5-15 the next few weeks, uh...enough might be enough. Not trades, but sending down guys, firing Ozzie, Walker...
  20. If Cora replaced Ozzie, I hope it's interim. No need in handing over the keys with a 2-year contract. As for 2005 doing more harm than good, I understand the thought, but no. Still, no excuse for not making changes when they're needed. If this s*** keeps going for another few weeks, they might have to do something.
  21. Looks like the rain will be out of there around game time. Maybe a slight delay, but they'll have a decent window to play.
  22. I don't think anyone had Hudson headed to the Hall of Fame, or even the top of anyone's rotation. I think some people think it was a stupid trade for the long run, and it certainly can turn out ot be a bad trade if the Sox don't make the playoffs with Edwin Jackson in their rotation, while Hudson could be a productive starter for fairly cheap over the next five years.
  23. Hudson has always had first inning issues. Even in the minors.
  24. Look who got a win last night in AA.... http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...&pid=435042
