  1. I don't think it's out of the question. Morel isn't hitting at all, and his defense hasn't been up to the hype. With the team going the way it's going, maybe they send sombody out to shake things up a little bit. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 02:01 PM) Please stop.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 01:30 PM) Two straight off for Brent. Interesting. And McPherson is at .314 in Charlotte. Might be a move brewing.
  3. Just to review last year: 24-33, then 38-13, then 17-26, out of it, then 9-2 to finish it out. Awful season.
  4. QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 09:48 PM) I feel like we started out bad last year but ended up with like 88 wins Obviously, that couldn't have happened because if you are 3 games under .500 by mid April you're done.. right? 88 wins is great and all, but sometimes you have to dig a little deeper and realize they had a 38-13 stretch wrapped around garbage and went 5-13 against the team that actually won the division.
  5. I don't think bringing him up in 09 hurt his shoulder. I think his overall mechanics have always been bad, and they just caught up to him at age 28.
  6. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 09:24 PM) He certainly was shaking his arm. He looked uncomfortable even during warmups, his offspeed and breaking stuff was okay, between 85-88, his fastball was 92-93 and he wasn't getting it by anyone. The description in the game summary says single and took second on a throw. Peavy's done.
  7. Even if they say it's nothing serious tomorrow, they have to shut him down now for a while. It really is pointless to count on this guy at all.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 08:44 PM) Be really nice if Sox call an audible and start the process of making Sale a starter. I'd be all for that, but Sale would have to go down and start for a couple months, and earn his way into the rotation. It can't just be that his pitch count is at a certain level.
  9. After CJ Retherford got a single off Jake, he said, "My arm! It's broken!".

  11. Can't wait for that 38-13 stretch like last year. I'm sure that will be coming. But seriously, this team f***ing blows. There, I said it.
  12. Morel has been sub-par defensively so far this season, but I'm going to give him a little bit of a break considering this is probably the first time playing a lot of baseball in this kind of weather. Yes, it's an excuse, but I think he deserves a little bit of a break. He's also shown glimpses of a very good 3B, so I'll cut him slack for rookie miscues.
  13. I don't think it's really comparable quite yet. In the minors, Morel walked almost twice as much as Viciedo. Morel has had 49 plate appearances. Let's see where his OBP is at 150 PA's. I just hope he gets there, because I dread the thought of Mark Teahen playing 3B regularly.
  14. Morel looking for his first walk this year still. Please don't suck.
  15. I like it the way it is. I'm not against retractable roofs, but even when they're open, it still feels like you're inside--I'm speaking of Miller Park. I don't know how it is in the other retractable roof stadiums.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 09:04 AM) No. I'll give them til June. They will have played enough sample to know if they're good. Sometimes teams don't get respect until they're actually good.
  17. Are the Indians for real? Masterson and Tomlin have been outstanding. Carmona is coming around. Sizemore is back. And don't forget...the power of Orlando Cabrera.
  18. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...hicafx_kanafx_1 Thompson --2 hits and a walk. Blanke-- ejection
  19. You know what really concerns me about Beckham? He sucks at home. Just .179 this season at home, and .231 career. That really bugs me.
  20. Charlotte http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...chraaa_noraaa_1 Birmingham http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...cngaax_biraax_1 Winston-Salem http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...kinafa_wswafa_1 Some good things...Anthony Carter with another scoreless inning. Mitchell had a good game. Bayne, also good. Griffith--5 walks. No.
  21. So Buehrle can go 101 pitches when he's going to lose, but only 99 pitches when he's 10-15 pitches from an almost sure win? Ok.
  22. I've decided not to freak out ever during this season. It's either win or Ozzie and Kenny have to go. This team could still run away with this division. I have no idea yet. I'll be watching and hoping they win, but there's a part of me that wants to see what will happen if they don't make the playoffs.
