  1. I was wrong about Britton. Porcello, Kluber, and Verlander are the top 3 in some order. Announced 11-16.

  3. Albers bought out. Yes, we know this is no surprise. https://twitter.com/ChrisCotillo/status/794230912330452992
  4. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 3, 2016 -> 10:24 AM) Man, some of you guys get way too concerned about tweets. Like I said when people were b****ing about the Cubs twitter account, it's f***in twitter, it doesn't have to be 100 percent serious all of the time. No, it doesn't have to be serious all the time. In fact, some of the tweets last week about not remembering 2005 were funny. In this case, when the Sox are congratulating the Cubs, they should have left it as a simple congratulations.
  5. QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 3, 2016 -> 10:18 AM) Its just a twitter account though. Its not like its the FO official public statement about the Cubs winning it. It's the Sox official Twitter account. That's the organization...period.
  6. Shuck off the 40-man. Outrighted to Charlotte. http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/roster/transactions
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 3, 2016 -> 10:04 AM) More of a shot at the media that forgot about 2005 It was, but if they're really going to congratulate the Cubs, then congratulate the Cubs and end it. To include all of the other stuff that tweaks the media is just petty bulls*** from an organization that sucks right now.
  8. Not sure if this has been talked about, but this is pretty passive aggressive stuff. https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/794038366400413697
  9. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 09:53 PM) In MLB it's been a long time for any team to win back to back WS. Weren't the Marlins last to do that? Yankees 98-00
  10. Hopefully there won't be idiots fighting leaving the park tonight.
  11. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 06:20 PM) Thank god I don't live in the city. I'm turning my phone off at the end of the game if the Cubs win. I still haven't seen the final outs of the NLCS. Tonight would be no different.
  12. QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 04:01 PM) Is the world going to be different if the Cubs win? It seems like it would somehow have a snowball effect in other aspects of my life. Like, I will no longer be able to order my coffee served hot or we will have to drive on the left side of the road or something. These arent possibilities are they? It's not too much different than the White Sox or Red Sox. 88 years... 86 years... 108 years. A long time is a long time, especially when every living fan is seeing it for the first time. But the media has their narratives, and that's all that matters to them.
  13. Jim Thome throwing out the first pitch. He really can't lose tonight.
  14. One of two things is going to happen: 1) The Cubs lose, and we'll be happy to see their stupid fans be disappointed once again. or 2) The Cubs win, and their bar is set for the next five years while part of their identity dies. I'll take #1, but some positive will also happen if they win.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 12:36 PM) Game 3 was the best game by far. Agreed on that. The Cubs were a hit from winning. Hopefully that will be the difference come about 10 hours from now.
  16. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 12:28 PM) True. I think whoever scores first will win. The bullpens are too stacked on both sides for a ridiculous comeback, but it would be awesome if the Indians could have a walk-off. While I certainly would be happy in the moment if that happens, I kinda don't want it to be a walk off, because then suddenly the Cubs will have played in a classic World Series, when it really hasn't been. Pretty similar to 1960 if you look it up. The wins were straightforward for both teams, then Game 7 was a bloodbath at the end with Mazeroski hitting the walkoff.
  17. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 12:20 PM) I wonder what would happen if the Indians hit a walkoff grand slam down 3 in the bottom of the 9th against Chapman. That would be insanely awesome. That's kinda why this World Series hasn't been that great, even though they are going to a Game 7. When a team doesn't really have a shot to come back, it makes it for pretty straightforward win or lose type games. I hope that continues with the Indians taking an early 4-0 lead, and they just win it.
  18. The good thing about the Indians having three shots to win one game, is that it's still there if they don't win tonight. Kluber-Miller-Allen tomorrow night. I like their chances still.
  19. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Oct 31, 2016 -> 01:27 PM) He's the type of guy who can end up on 3 different teams by the time Spring Training starts. I think Andy Wilkins is back out on the market.
  20. I'll give the Cubs organization credit. They had a plan. They executed a plan. They won a pennant, which is an accomplishment. And their window for winning will still be there the next few years. That's the baseball side of it...good for them. As far as their stupid fans...nothing would make me happier than to see them lose all three games at Wrigley in their first World Series in 71 years. All that money spent by d-bags just to see them lose...would love it!
  21. Going to be nice to watch the flag going up and ring ceremony next April when the Indians host the Sox in their opener.
  22. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 21, 2016 -> 10:07 AM) Spotless was added to Netflix. Quality show. Kind of a Dexter/Breaking Bad mix. Anyone? Anyone?
  23. 40-man is at 40, plus Davidson, Petricka, and Webb who are on the 60-day DL. 4 free agents included on the 40...Albers, Avila, Jackson, and Morneau, so they'll be coming off next week.
