  1. Well, the 2006 World Series was terrible, so hopefully a Tigers-Cardinals series this year would be better. Anybody but the Red Sox.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 10, 2013 -> 09:36 AM) Have you never watched MLB playoffs before? It's worse now.
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 10, 2013 -> 01:37 AM) I despise Cardinals fans. They all act like they've never won anything before. I have seen this quote twice on my facebook regarding the series win "words cannot describe how I feel right now" Jesus, act like you've been there before. If the White Sox won a single playoff series this year, I'd have been pretty happy...but words would have described it. Speaking of "act like you've been there before"...how about Adam Wainwright? He's been on the mound to end a World Series before. It was a 6-1 ballgame. He knew they were going to win the game. Yes, it was a Game 5, but if the Cardinals lose the NLCS, they still only won the NL Central. It's not like they won something new last night. So Adam, why are you acting like you just won another World Series....or even a pennant? Yes, a couple fist pumps and high fives all around. But it was overboard for that team. And while I'm complaining...another trend I've seen this postseason...when you lose the series, grab your stuff and head to the clubhouse. These losing players sitting in the dugout watching the other team celebrate makes me think they just want to "show how much they care", when they really just want face time on TV. You lost, Jason Grilli. Leave the dugout.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 3, 2013 -> 07:03 AM) Post your predictions for the playoffs here. Poster with the closest picks wins 2 49ers tickets and a fixed up '69 Chevelle. Cardinals over Pirates in 5 Dodgers over Braves in 4 Red Sox over Rays in 4 Tigers over A's in 5 Dodgers over Cards in 6 Tigers over Red Sox in 7 Dodgers over Tigers in 5 If the Tigers win tonight....wow.
  5. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/y2010/index...gddwin_msswin_1 As of now, they have Semien listed as DH.
  6. 3 stolen bases for Johnson already. Semien walk and sac fly.
  7. Semien DHing today. Teammates with Colin Moran. http://mlb.mlb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?gi...ox&sid=l119
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 06:45 PM) Balfour was a douche. Pretty sure he yelled "what the f*** are you looking at, b****?" At VMart for no reason Uncensored
  9. Go Bucs. Hope they come back and win this.
  10. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 08:24 AM) Me too. Granderson is a nice player but it would be a mistake if he is our "big splash". He's gonna want a lot of money and is already 32. I wouldn't want Granderson for more than two guaranteed years, but I'll take him over De Aza any day of the week. De Aza is a 4th outfielder for an NL team. He can pinch hit, fill in for a regular on the DL, pinch run for slow guys. When you ask De Aza to start 150 games, he'll be part of the problem. Not part of the solution.
  11. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 07:57 AM) "The Sox might be viewing Alejandro De Aza as a fourth outfielder — or as trade bait." Just terrible if true. Nobody would miss De Aza. Nobody.
  12. http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/10/...-baseball-show/ David Price is such a (I got a lot of words, but most of them are offensive to some people).
  13. How should Hahn fix the White Sox? By not doing anything dumb between now and Opening Day 2015. No Band-Aid approach. Keep making smart trades for good prospects who have brains Don't sign anyone over 30 to a deal for more than two years Poach some scouts/player development people from other organizations that know what they're doing. Get a real manager after 2014 when Reinsdorf will let him
  14. http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/10/...ing-jose-abreu/ Looks like Marlins, Giants, or Rangers. Blind bids are supposed to be in today.
  15. Matt Harvey is having Tommy John surgery. See you in 2015.
  16. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Oct 3, 2013 -> 06:04 PM) Excellent report. Thanks for pulling all that information together. One question: In the past I thought teams were limited to six guys. Have they expanded or our they just rotating a few guys out? A couple of the players are only eligible to play on Wednesday's and Saturday's. Pretty sure Jacobs is one of them.
  17. TB over Bos in 5 Det over Oak in 3 LA over Atl in 4 StL over Pit in 5 TB over Det in 6 LA over StL in 7 TB over LA in 6 I'm never right, so go opposite of this.
  18. I think the right teams won these games. Playoffs should be good.
  19. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 03:43 PM) If the Indians are lucky enough to win tonight, I don't believe they'll win more than 1 in the ALDS It's going to be tough for them to win tonight. They don't have a game.
  20. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 08:07 AM) The Wild Card game needs to be a best of three series. I would like the one game play-in more if they went to no divisions and a more balanced schedule. It seems unfair for the Pirates to have their season come down to one game when they won 94 games, and the Dodgers won 92 games--and they automatically move on to the best-of-5. If I knew the Play-In Game was the true 4th and 5th seed, I wouldn't feel bad for the loser of that game. But if the Pirates lose tonight, I would feel bad for them because it's possible they were one of the three best teams in the NL. The Dodgers were just in the right division.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 30, 2013 -> 07:03 PM) Go Nelson Cruz Yes. Please go...away.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 30, 2013 -> 03:48 PM) The Baseball Cube ‏@thebaseballcube 9m #Rangers Joey Butler draws the short-straw and is DFA'd as Texas reinstates Nelson Cruz in time for Game #163 Cruz is DH-ing. Go Rays.
  23. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Sep 30, 2013 -> 01:24 PM) Brian McCann and Abreu are on my wish list. Couple trades can definitely improve this team We can probably forget about the Sox signing high-profile free agents, including Abreu. The Sox are going to have to make smart trades, smaller free agent signings, and gasp, actually draft and develop some position players. Garcia and Semien look to be a good start at rebuilding the offense, but this is probably going to take a few years to get back to contention.
  24. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 30, 2013 -> 11:25 AM) His comments when hired should have gotten him fired the next day. He was not a believer in OBP and as such they are where they are. Amen. I'm not huge on hitting coaches making a huge difference, but that was ridiculous when Manto said he didn't care about walks. I hope they talk to Rudy Jaramillo and Kevin Seitzer.
