  2. Gio Gonzalez 7 shutout innings today vs Reds. Moyer faces Bumgarner. Moyer faced Steve Carlton (born 12-22-44). Bumgarner was born 8-1-89, three years after Moyer debuted in the big leagues.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 12:54 PM) He'd be our top prospect by far, it would seem And not only that, the Dbacks are in a position that they could trade Holmberg as part of a final piece of a pennant run because they have so much pitching depth in their farm system. Compared to the Sox a couple years ago, that had no pitching depth and very little chance of making the playoffs with or without Edwin Jackson.
  4. Holmberg is off to a good start for high-A. He'll probably be in AA befoire his 21st birthday. Thanks, Kenny! http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...&pid=571787
  5. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jan 25, 2012 -> 04:26 PM) Sale gets the first start in these. I picture him even thinner looking in red pinstripes somehow.

Ravelo with a double. 2 doubles and a homer so far this season...that's a good sign considering he hit for very little power last year. He turns 20 in a couple weeks.

    Walters... 6IP, 2 hits, 2 walks, 10 K
  8. Broxton looked like he was pitching in pain, or something. Just awful. First time a game has ended on back-to-back HBP's since the Sox beat the O's in 1966... http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CH...196609020.shtml

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Apr 11, 2012 -> 06:50 PM) Walters is a guy who could really move fast this year. Hell of a start. Bundy will get the headlines, but Walters could move to W-S before long if he keeps this up.
  10. flavum replied to flavum's topic in FutureSox Board
Wow, Bundy faced 9. Struck out 6. 19 years old. Could move quick.
  11. flavum replied to flavum's topic in FutureSox Board
6 up 6 down, 3 k's for Bundy. The O's don't have much to be happy about. I hope the kid pans out.
  12. flavum replied to flavum's topic in FutureSox Board
Bundy got three outs on 10 pitches, and is scheduled to go three innings.

Charlotte lost http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...chraaa_dubaaa_1 Birmingham won--Hey Saladino, how about a hit? Quintana, solid start. http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...hunaax_biraax_1 Winston-Salem- Heidenreich starts http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...wswafa_frdafa_1 Kannapolis-- Blair Walters vs Dylan Bundy http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...delafx_kanafx_1
  14. Happy flight? http://flightaware.com/live/flight/UAL1803
  15. Scott Baker out for the year.
  16. Verlander blows his own save. Guess Leyland gave him the rope.
  17. No Verlander this weekend. No King Felix when we face the M's. Good time to peel off some wins and get off to a great 2012.
  18. Video of the AJ homer. 42 second mark...bad word? http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_...8374897313-1024
  19. http://twitpic.com/98l11b And then he went to the dugout and I'm pretty sure he referred to the fan in a way that a couple NBA players got fined for last year.
  20. No excuses for Danks today. This has to be a win today.
  21. They'll have to play a doubleheader in early May since they finish the season in Cleveland. They aren't going to do it then.
  22. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 10, 2012 -> 03:05 PM) I'm saying as far as winning the series, which should be the goal of every series. Yes, winning series should be the goal...in October! I hate the term "winning series" in the regular season, because consciously or subconsciously, when they win the first two games of a series, there could be a weak lineup the next day or the players may go out the night before a little longer because they already have the series won. A baseball season is 162 separate opportunities to win one game. Yes, when a series over you may say, "well, at least we got 2 out of 3", or "at least we got one game in Texas". But I hate when players and coaches talk about "winning series" during the regular season. It's an easy way to let down.
  23. If you believe the White Sox have a shot at the postseason, then the Tigers beating the Red Sox and Rays is a good thing. Hopefully the Sox can find a way to beat the Tigers 7 or 8 games this season.
  24. That's just a weird lineup.
  25. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 9, 2012 -> 09:17 PM) Let's see more out of Humber...to me, he's a greater concern than Sale, who I think ends up being our best SP... He is already. I'm optimistic about Humber. I think he'll be one of the better 5th starters in the AL. 190 innings. 17-19 quality starts. I could see that.
