  1. Offered up as a sacrifice to the Gods of the unwritten rules.
  2. If Yermin is on the bench tomorrow that would make me think the only reason he was in the line up today was to be there to take the HBP.
  3. He is fixing the game. If he has to take his own team down to do it then so be it.
  4. If this board affects your enjoyment of the team, that's on you. There is lots to enjoy with this team, there are also lots of issues. You don't have to turn your back on one to see the other.
  5. With 2 outs in the 9th inning of game 5 of the World Series Nick Madrigal hits a walkoff 2 run home run to clinch a world series victory. However upon appeal it is determined that Yasmani Grandal missed the bag when rounding third base and is called out resulting in a White Sox loss. The Sox go on to lose the series in 7 games.
  6. How often are you thinking he catches?
  7. This should be the new MLB marketing slogan.
  8. I'm sure they will have a way to scan the microchip.
  9. Just make sure that mascot stays away from the bat boys.
  10. The important thing to remember is that this means we basically got Giolitto, Lopez and Lynn for Avery Weems.
  11. I miss Peavy, he was entertaining. It's a shame he was driven away from the board.
  12. Nice to have some good White Sox news today! He earned it!
  13. There is no way greg775 is a real person. I have always been under the assumption that it is just another member that has created a character to play on the forums
  14. I thought that hiring Hinch was supposed to be the move that would cause the Sox to receive negative media coverage. Seems like the La Russa hire isn't being as well received as I am sure JR thought it would be. I sure hope JR doesn't see this as his big signing for the year. And I am sincere about this.
  15. The manager in a modern baseball organization is basically a middle management position. I don't think the position comes with the amount of power many people think it does.
  16. Sure it bothers me, but I believe in second chances. If it is deemed he is the best man to move this club forward then I can accept that.
  17. So no second chances? One mistake and that's it forever?
  18. What if his boss told him not to stop it? It seems like take every advantage was an organizational philosophy with the Astros.
  19. I can't believe so many would refuse to give someone a second chance. To the OP, you said how would you explain this to your kids. Would you not use this as an opportunity to teach that making a mistake is not the end of the world. A mistake was made and the man received and served his punishment and hopefully learned from it and now can receive a second chance if he proves worthy.
  20. I would prefer: Person X Giolito Keuchel Person Y Cease Dunning/Kopech etc.
  21. I guess you are just much more optimistic than I am. I would not want to go into next season having to rely on Kopech, Cease and Dunning all to have success. Especially considering possible regression of Giolito without McCann and while I do like Kuechel I'm not sure he can repeat what he did this year. Far to many question marks to be comfortable with what we have. I really think we need 2 starting pitchers to be added. On TOR and one at the back end. Bauer is the only TOR guy that is a free agent next year so he needs to be the #1 priority and then they can look at grabbing a guy like Q for the back half of the rotation. That would give us a very good starting rotation of Bauer, Giolito, Kuechel, Q and Cease. Kopech for sure has to start in the minors and I think some additional time in the minors could help Dunning as well, make them force their way into the rotation instead of giving them a spot and hoping it works out.
  22. With the Sox off of WGN I decided to buy MLBtv for the first time as I was excited to see this young team. After the first week of frustration I was questioning my purchase, thankfully they turned things around and it was an incredibly fun season to watch.
  23. That's a pretty solid list right there.
  24. I am curious what you believe is our most pressing need? My opinion is that without at least someone that can at least pass as a #2 starter any other acquisitions aren't going to matter.
  25. Yes, he does. I'm just not sure how long that will take. Who knows, maybe he will click with Grandal quickly or perhaps with which ever back up catcher we end up with.
