Graveman to Astros for C Korey Lee
Nice that he can throw. Ok that his weakness is framing. Bring on the robots.

Giolito & Reynaldo to LAA. Update: Angels put on waivers
Exactly my point. Just shy of 4 million plus whatever the penalty LAA faces. The reasoning is that LAA staying out of the tax for another year might have had some value.

Giolito & Reynaldo to LAA. Update: Angels put on waivers
If they plan to spend big, like 500 million big... I'd think they'd wish they stayed out of the bracket this year. And it probably cost them like 5 million total. That brings back something of value. For sure.

Giolito & Reynaldo to LAA. Update: Angels put on waivers
I wonder what the return could have been if the Sox picked up the $ due to Gio and Lopey? Putting LAA into the lux tax was definitely costly for them.

Giolito & Reynaldo to LAA. Update: Angels put on waivers
The sequel to Moneyball is going to be pretty boring when it is just a 20 second tiktok of Hahn googling "Top Prospects in Baseball". "It all changed when I discovered incognito mode".

Rick out here targeting value miscalculation between the Baseball America Top 100 and the MLB PIpeline Top 100.

Garfein's Latest Podcast...
Ok. Reread my post and pretend that when I said "Hahn is gone" it means that "Hahn is gone from the position of GM". People leave this place because there are professional arguers here. Just a bunch of lawyers waiting to pounce. I'm just pointing out that as an avid Chuck pod listener, he is a new kind of negative here. Which is welcomed. And I think it is reasonable to speculate that now, after plenty of bad times where he still carried plenty of water, if it means that he knows something???? that's all.

Garfein's Latest Podcast...
After listening to that podcast I feel like Chuck & Ryan feel it is a done deal that Hahn is gone and they finally feel safe to be supremely negative. Usually it is a quick underhanded negative shot served with an overwhelming dose of fluff, but this was just some good old fashion burying. Such a change in attitude I wonder if it is already done?

Sox Draft 2023
I expected lefties to be in high demand yesterday. An entire generation of left handed power hitters were neutralized by the shift and I wouldn't be shocked to learn that organizations are very short on them and doing everything they can to react to the new rules. Now maybe prognosticators were also on that train of thought when they were ranking draft prospects and went too far overrating any left handed power, but I was surprised any of them fell, and especially Gonzalez.

GQ: Tim Anderson Is Tired of Being the Most Misunderstood Man in Baseball
Remember when Tim was mad that Benintendi got paid? Nevermind it was literally the first big contract Jerry has doled out throughout Tim's entire career. Nevermind T/A had two years remaining on his last extension. How did he get a pass on talking about another veteran player's money like that? Good thing the media didn't "understand" him in that interview.

LA Times assesses White Sox/Dodgers trade possibilities
I think TA is traded this year because if he goes now he is still QO eligible after next season if he were to return to form.

Garfein: Tim Anderson hates pitch clock, not Chicago
This is the silver lining of JR's lifetime contracts... no other GM would be willing to waive the white flag this summer, because they would be fired, but maybe Hahn can because he doesn't fear losing his job?
-
Garfein: Tim Anderson hates pitch clock, not Chicago
No speculating allowed, except for you... right? You literally listed players that you know aren't the cancer? Lol.
-
Garfein: Tim Anderson hates pitch clock, not Chicago
There are 99 reasons why to "hate this place" but getting boo'd by like a dozen fans after not hustling ain't one.

Garfein: Tim Anderson hates pitch clock, not Chicago
Had the Sox not hired his high school coach Lucas 100% would be openly bashing the org by now.

Fire Rick Hahn
There would be alot more Jerry apologists if he didn't do interviews like this. I would be one of them but he can't help but show his true colors. Who is he trying to help by sharing? Future billionaire owners? How was he allowed to give this pointless interview that only sees the light of day if/when he says something dumb?

Catharsis
10-12 with this schedule was probably the baseline. So while 7-15 is a huge disappointment, it probably doesn't justify the complete outrage. The next two series are not going to be easy so now is definitely time to enjoy the falling sky if that is your thing.

Rebuild Time
Am I wrong to speculate that it was a few hundred people that enjoy tailgating 8 times a year that was the driving force to kill that free museum?
