QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 11, 2013 -> 04:28 PM) We'll obviously see what Snell and Teague turn into, but Butler, Taj, Noah, Gray, Gordon, Deng, Duhon, Hinrich have all made contributions, and that's skipping the #1 pick. About the only guy from that list who hasn't out-performed their draft slot is Gordon because he was a high pick. The busts are Johnson and obviously Thomas. That list also really doesn't reflect reality, since the Bulls traded for Deng, traded away Seraphim to the Wizards to clear cap space for the 2010 free agent fest, traded away the rights to Bonner, etc. And I said "Last decade" for a reason, the people making the choices changed right around then. Thabo turned out to be very solid too (I think we traded Carney for him)

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 09:54 AM) And like I've said, be satisfied being the 90's Pacers with the modern day George Karl as your head coach. Because apparently no deal has made since for the Bulls for 6 years now. They've been healthy for two years in the regular season under Thibs. They got the one seed both times. They made it to the conference finals in his first season with a pretty young core and no shooting guard. I really don't know how you can come to the conclusion that the Bulls will never win because they lost in Thibs' FIRST season as head coach in the conference finals and then Rose tore his ACL.

The Challenge: Rivals II starts tonight. Can't. Wait.

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 02:40 PM) Where did Jaws end up having Cutler ranked? I think he's set up for a big year. 14th I think

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 01:32 PM) Fixed. This was Rose after game 4 of that series. Some video. At 4:10 he clearly shakes Lebron, but doesn't go to the rim because he is most likely fatigued (Greg Anthony agrees in the highlight). 4:40, Rose easily goes baseline and the whole Heat defense collapses on Rose and he dishes it out to Brewer for 3. At 5:20 he completely blows by Lebron, but Wade comes from the weak side and sends it. You can blow the guy all you want, but the Heat defense collapsed every time Rose got by Lebron. On the most important possession of the game he gets Lebron off balance, but settles for a jumper. This video was from game 4. Look, Lebron is good defensively, but wow is he an overrated man defender. E: --- in game 5 at 2:25 he gets by Lebron when driving to the rim, but the whole heat defense collapses and blocks Rose. There aren't too many highlights with Lebron on Rose, but to think he completely shut down Rose by himself is stupid.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 12:30 PM) A really nice first step in beating the Heat would be realizing that this core won't get it done. If you have 1 player that can create his own shot, you are not beating Miami anywhere. There is 1 player in the NBA that can shutdown Derrick Rose. Lebron is that player. The Bulls can tinker all they want with a "new bench mob" but until they get better players next to Rose they will not win a title. Nobody can shut Derrick down 1 on 1. The Heat as a team surely give him problems though. I'll agree with that.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 09:58 AM) 39%? He also is horrible at rebounding despite being 6'6 And he can do nothing besides spot up and shoot. Not a fan of this pick. They said he shot 47% on pull-up jumpers, which was best in the country. That's hardly just being a spot-up shooter. He has good length and everyone considers him a good shooter. He should do well for the Bulls.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 28, 2013 -> 06:05 AM) No he's just the best scorer in the best conference in the country. His measurements predraft kind of did him in a little bit. Still, drafted, which makes him 7 in a row for Thad. Not too shabby. Shurna and Frazier were 1 and 2 in the B1G last year, Jujuan Johnson and Taylor Battle were 1 and 2 the previous years. Leading a college conference, whether it be the best conference in the country or not, doesn't have as much to do with pro potential as you seem to think.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 27, 2013 -> 11:01 PM) Can't believe he's still on the board. Instant offense. I can. Like I said months ago, he doesn't have a position. He isn't athletic enough to play the 3 and he isn't big enough to play the 4. You jumped all over me after I asked if he would even get drafted after he declared. It's understandable though. Sometimes team loyalty can be a bit blinding.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 27, 2013 -> 02:22 AM) Jimmy Butler is fast becoming the most overrated player in the NBA (far as Soxtalk goes). He's a piece. Not the difference. Stop it. The Bulls need another star. That's the only way in the 2007+ nba (and that might not even be enough). Do you mean 1980+ nba? It's pretty much always been a star's league with a few exceptions scattered in. There was even an exception in your 2007+ period (which we have gone over a bunch of times, but you always seem to forget).

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 04:01 PM) Jordan taught him that trick. And the Jordan myth continues to grow.....

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 12:34 PM) The other thing with the Bulls is that they're also looking long-term as well. Having Mirotic stuffed away makes that the case. You're right though that Oladipo should not go #1. He'd definitely be a very interesting guy to pair with Thibs over a couple seasons though...think of the steps forward Butler has taken then imagine what a guy more athletic could do. I don't think the Cavs would do Deng + #20 for the #1, but I wonder if there's any team in the top 5 that might do Deng + #20 for their slot. Oladipo could well be available for several picks and he could be an interesting fit. And no, I wouldn't give up the Bobcats pick for anything in this draft. Yes, but the Bulls took Mirotic in the 20s. If the Bulls trade Deng for a top 5 pick, I suspect it would be for someone they would want to contribute right away. Oladipo will be solid on defense right from the start, but he's going to have some issues offensively.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 24, 2013 -> 11:59 AM) If nothing else, it would be a very good defensive team. Oh, and if you took in Pierce, he would definitely start with Jimmy Buckets off the bench as the 6th man. Oladipo would be an absolutely terrible pick at #1 overall. Especially by the Bulls. The spacing on that team would be horrendous. He's also a bit of a project and the Bulls would need an instant contributor considering they're in win-now mode. McLemore makes sense because he can shoot. Hell, I'd rather have Porter in that scenario and play Butler at the 2 (although that doesn't help spacing much either).

QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 21, 2013 -> 08:03 AM) They wont be able to do anything with Wade. He wont be traded because no one will want to trade for a guy making 20M a year who is starting to break down. He has two player options remaining for 20M in 14-15 and 21.5M in 15-16. He wont sniff that in the open market so he'll opt in. He also helped orchestrate (along with Riley) the whole big 3 to Miami thing. I really don't think they would get rid of him regardless.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 20, 2013 -> 10:50 PM) Oh, and the Big Three era will be a smashing, unquestioned success no matter what happens from this point on. 3 finals, 2 rings = vindication. Everybody expected that. Hell, everyone thought it would be 3 finals and 3 rings at this point. People were even talking about the Heat breaking the Bulls wins record after the decision. Lets not act like this is some sort of surprise.

Great game by Lebron. He hit his open jumpers and the spurs never really adjusted. Pops really cost the Spurs the last two games.

Parker is playing awful

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 20, 2013 -> 10:08 PM) Jesus, Parker and Duncan both on the bench AGAIN. Here comes a run. Diaw playing center. This should end well.

Lebron is really hot right now. Might have to bite the bullet and stop going under.

Green playing like he wants to get cut again.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 20, 2013 -> 12:20 PM) There are reportedly now 2 additional incidents involving Hernandez, drinking, and night clubs. He's apparently an angry dude. That's 4, including a murder. One of them saw a handgun being discarded. Apparently Evan Rodriguez was similar to Aaron Hernandez after all. Unfortunately it had nothing to do with football.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 11:07 PM) Facts? You mean like the fact that is was LeBron that took Rose out of every 4th quarter in '11 and you say otherwise? lol. Lol, okay.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 11:05 PM) Play dumb if you want. Your agenda has been clear for months. Only on a Chicago board will you not get called out on it. I always thought i backed up my argumets wiith facts. How about you?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 18, 2013 -> 11:00 PM) Just admit your agenda. Chop LeBron down to protect Jordan's legacy at all costs. It's ok. I did the same thing with Kobe for years. ?
