  1. QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 11, 2013 -> 02:12 PM) I don't want to wait Really looking forward to the official visit. Groce usually does an outstanding job with them.
  2. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 11, 2013 -> 11:44 AM) We don't know that. Maybe in some parallel universe, we get the FG and the pick 6. With Eli at QB this is likely. It's not like the Bears got the pick 6 because the Giants were backed up in their endzone either. They got like 30 yards before that pick 6
  3. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Oct 8, 2013 -> 10:31 PM) So, I'm bored, my fantasy football teams suck, and it's almost NBA season. I thought I'd throw up some predictions here... West Clippers over Blazers in 5 (have the Clippers #1 due to the Spurs resting old guys and Westbrook's injury costing the Thunder a few wins) Spurs over Mavericks in 4 Thunder over Warriors in 5 Rockets over Grizzlies in 7 Clippers over Rockets in 7 Thunder over Spurs in 6 Thunder over Clippers in 5 East Heat over Cavs in 4 (going out on a limb and saying they get around 100 games combined from Varejao and Bynum. East sucks beyond the top-4) Bulls over Wizards in 5 Pacers over Hawks in 5 Nets over Knicks in 6 (obviously depends on health of Brooklyn's old dudes) Heat over Nets in 6 Bulls over Pacers in 7 Heat over Bulls in 7 Finals Heat over Thunder in 7 MVP- Durant (only because of Lebron fatigue) ROY- Trey Burke (would be Oladipo if he could start at SG) 6th man- Reggie Jackson if he qualifies Most Improved- I would say Valanciunas or Drummond, but it usually goes to guys that have slightly more NBA experience. I'll also avoid the obvious Utah guys and go with Ersan Ilyasova finally putting together a good season instead of just half of one (something like 17-9). It's so hard to make predictions because a lot of it depends on health, team chemistry, etc. There are too many unknowns. As of now the Heat obviously have to be the favorite, but could you imagine them having a to play a completely healthy Nets team that play well together? How would the Heat counter KG and Lopez? Who would guard D-Will? The Bulls completely healthy would obviously give them a run for their money too. The Bulls could give them similar problems to what the Pacers did last year except that they would have a much better backcourt and a star player to go through down the stretch. It's just way too early. I wouldn't be surprised if the Bulls pulled off the 1 seed this year.
  4. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Oct 7, 2013 -> 01:23 PM) So our pass defense is quickly becoming one of the worst in the league. We are 30th in the league currently in opponent pass completion % at 70% (only Oakland and San Diego) has done worst. We are also 6th in the league in highest yard per attempt at 8.3. When the secondary is not generating any turnovers and the DL is not pressure the quarterback, our defense is a disaster waiting to happen. When you run a cover two system, but can generate little to no pressure this is the result. We could blitz, but we don't have the CBs to play cover one or cover zero (look at the Steelers game for reference). It's going to be a very underwhelming season for the defense because of all the injuries on the D-Line.
  5. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 6, 2013 -> 12:35 AM) Stanford back to back 3 and outs going to f*** me on this cover. Did you get it at 6 or closer to 9?
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 6, 2013 -> 12:30 AM) Really dude. When have I ever trolled? Come on, Rock. You know your stuff and you generally provide very good insight, but when it comes to anything pertaining to Ohio State you get a bit nuts. It's not a big deal because the homerism is warranted, but let's not be crazy and act like it's not there.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 5, 2013 -> 11:31 PM) I think the near sideline judge convinced the the one with the good angle that he was down when he fumbled the snap. The running in made no sense otherwise. I think you're right. One was running in for the spot and it was closer to the correct spot than the one given.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 5, 2013 -> 11:25 PM) Rose said his vert is 5 inches better than pre injury. 5?!
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 5, 2013 -> 11:20 PM) I -think- he got it, but no angle was indisputable. I thought the sideline judge running to the play from the top of the screen was all over the place when he ran onto the field, I had no idea where it was going to be spotted. Yes, it looked like he clearly got it, but once the initial spot was made there was no way they were overturning it. It was a bad spot, but there's nothing you can do there. He probably shouldn't have challenged since there was no clear evidence that would have overturned it.
  10. Brutal beat at the end. I only lost 100 on it, but even Musburger touched on it (he clearly gambles). That last play made a lot of money change hands.
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 11:00 AM) Cle, Cinci, AZ, Minny Please no. Freeman is pretty talented.
  12. Goodluck Okonoboh will make his choice today. Down to IU, tOSU, and UNLV. It seemed like it was IU all the way, but then I saw Evan Daniels say it's probably going to be Ohio State. Now this morning Meyer changes his crystal ball to UNLV. Hard to tell where he will go.
  13. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 2, 2013 -> 12:58 PM) Creaning a Simeon kid would be all kinds of stupid. Yeah, I don't think there's any way that happens. If Tate decides to transfer it would be his choice. He'll likely never start a game for the Illini (barring injuries).
  14. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 2, 2013 -> 10:26 AM) You have to tread lightly because of his HS. I could easily see Starks transferring again. I don't think Tate will be "Groced" out if he decides to transfer. If he realizes that he'll never play a significant role for the Illini he might choose to transfer. Yes, I think Starks will have 5th year eligibility (won't have to sit out a year if he transfers), so it could definitely be him.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 08:12 PM) Hope for Tate. If he's as bad as you seem to make him out to be I'm sure he'll be the one. He could possibly be the last guy off the bench next year because Abrams, Starks, and Snider would all be ahead of him
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 07:29 PM) Expectations will be a little higher next year, right? Maybe not the worst thing. PG depth is a problem this year. It won't be next year. This leads me to believe that Tate or Starks might transfer
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 23, 2013 -> 04:53 PM) Cliff Alexander ‏@humblekid11 4h My top 6 schools NO ORDER Michigan state Illinois Memphis DePaul Kansas Arizona He will officially visit all those schools outside of Michigan St. The Lyle angle is interesting to think about also as teams like Illinois, Michigan St, and Arizona aren't really recruiting him and it looks like KU might not offer either.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 22, 2013 -> 10:07 PM) Tucker has them in cover 1 and cover 0 a lot. Yup and the bears really don't have the cornerbacks to play single high safety (or no safety help) too often. We have cover 2 personnel. I don't understand what he's doing. I get that the front four aren't getting pressure, but when the blitz doesn't hit home we get absolutely gashed.
  19. Robert Johnson picks IU. Very solid get for the Hoosiers.
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 16, 2013 -> 10:27 AM) It is weird being in this position but with Snider on board I would just say no thanks to Lyle. We are in a position where we should be really good starting next year even if you don't anyone else. I'd prefer not to deal with Lyle who could be Jereme Richmond part II and I've heard he may have a hard time qualifying anyways. Not to mention that there are rumors that Illinois backed off of Lyle to begin with (not saying he would have gone to Illinois anyways) because of his attitude and off court issues. It sounds like Lyle might not even get an offer from KU. Him and Cliff were saying that he they were going to visit KU for late night together, but Eric Bossi tweeted a few days ago, "I know it has been reported that Lyle will visit for Late Night in the Phog because he has told people that. From what I have been told, there has been NO visit set with Lyle." Arizona said they weren't recruiting him. Seems like lots of teams aren't big on him. Also, Isaiah Whitehead will announce today.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 16, 2013 -> 02:51 PM) There is something to be said for being able to get superstar level players to be willing to work together for the benefit of the team. That's one Phil Jackson appears to be the legend at doing. Spoelstra's managed to pull that off somewhat, but it did take a while. I feel like it would be easier in this case because these guys were all close friends before signing up. When they originally started playing together people were saying that they were all playing too unselfishly and that was the detriment to the team. Willingness to work together has never been a huge problem with the heat because of the relationships the players had prior to 2011.
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 16, 2013 -> 02:46 PM) By your logic/standards, Mike Brown is a better, more accomplished coach than Thibs. Wouldn't that circle back to the original argument of "it's easy to win with Lebron James"?
  23. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 14, 2013 -> 09:39 AM) Everyone knows I like Ulis, but awful choice. Should've gone to one of other two. If they get Lyle do you think Ulis decommits?
  24. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 13, 2013 -> 01:41 PM) Yeah that was a missed call too but far from the worst. TCU got turnovers on straight plays in the final minutes and the refs missed both of them. They got really screwed. The halo rule call was horrendous. Then they let TTU get off a play on the fumble that occurred on the next play, so I thought they weren't going to review it. They eventually reviewed it and still screwed it up. These two plays were after the refs somehow overturned the punt return for a TD on a non-reviewable call. The scoring play is reviewed, but the judgement call made on the field couldn't be changed and I have no idea how they thought their was enough evidence even if it was a reviewable play. TCU just got screwed.
