  1. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 03:33 PM) Bruce Springsteen even making the list is a joke. The man sounds like he's constantly straining while taking a s*** and singing at the same time for almost every song he sings. How dare you knock the boss!!! anyway if you wanna talk unique voices theres gotta be some love for tom petty. Also if you look at the rollingstone site and check out some of the ballots from actually singers its cool to see who they picked. B.B. King had Sammy Davis Jr. and Ol Blue Eyes as his top two, wouldnt have guessed that.

I cant believe so many people dont like arbys. I have heard this from many people but its probably my favorite. They actually recently reinstated the pick 5 deal and its a great deal. The trick is just getting 5 sandwiches or whatever and then getting a cup for water, and filling it up with whatever. It probably costs them a dollar to make one of those sandwiches so it doesnt bother me. I actually had a buddy who got caught doing that one time and told the woman who asked why his water was green, "I dunno but this is the dirtiest f-ing water ive ever had.

QUOTE (Texsox @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 08:50 AM) Holy crap what an opportunity! Prime of your life, excellent job skills, no major debt, and the freedom to do almost anything. For the next two three years do something f***ing amazing. Pick a cause. Get involved in something real and make it happen. Concentrate on a job somewhere you always wanted to travel to. Go help some people that need it. Go help some animals that no one is helping Go save some land Stop an injustice or start one. Get a job on a cruise ship or private yacht Worry about your career in a few more years, worry about your life now. Kids and mortgages will happen soon enough. You truly are at a great point in your life. Grab it and do something amazing with it. You will not regret the things you do nearly as much as you will regret the things you did not do. ^^^^Great post, couldn't have put it better. This is definitely the last time you will probably get to do whatever the f you want to do. No job, money saved up, no woman or kids. You should do something you've always wanted to do maybe try the west coast or something new.
  4. QUOTE (pcullotta @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 02:33 PM) Pedroia Avg - .326 Kinsler Avg - .319 Pedroia HR - 17 Kinsler HR - 18 Pedroia RBI - 83 Kinsler RBI - 71 Pedroia SB - 20 Kinsler SB - 26 Pedroia OPS - .869 Kinsler OPS - .892 Pedroia - 317 MVP Points Kinsler - 1 10th Place Vote The biggest difference may have been games played, 157 for Pedroia and 121 for Kinsler Was Pedroia even the Best Second Baseman in the AL? If the award was called Best Second Basemen he may not have won, but prolly still would have. Also unlike what happened in the NL this award goes to the most valuable player. Pujols did help his team and without him they would have been horrible but the award shouldnt just go to the best player in the league. Pedroia really went on a tear during the dog days of summer and really helped the red sox keep pace with the rays and the twins in the wild card. He deserves this compared to the rest of the field. Also im happy a guy whose only 5'9" won an MVP which is pretty cool.
  5. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 01:13 PM) Let me add that whoever voted for K-Rod should have his voted privelages revoked Seconded
  6. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 02:20 PM) According to the chat(thanks to Jim at Soxmachine.com), Nevin Griffith had Tommy John surgery and is out for all of '09, Buddy Bell really likes Morel's D at 3rd, Jon Link may be in the front of the line for back-of-the-bullpen fodder, and Carter and Hudson may start at W-S this year. Ouch on the Griffith front but is good to see that he likes Morel he moved pretty fast through the system for just his first year of pro ball and if he could continue his batting for average and add some power maybe as he came up the system id love for him to be an option at 3rd in the years to come.
  7. This is something where you cant let your emotions get the best of you. The save is the most overrated statistic in baseball and the fact that he does only pitch in 60-70 innings which someone already stated proves the point. I would say someone like linebrink earlier in the season or thornton were more important t his year as they often came into tie games or when we were up or down one and had to hold a lead or perserve a small deficit. Bobby did pitch in one run games but also quite a few 2 and 3 run games. Also Bobby wasnt very good in non save situations. This being said along with declining k rates and the dip in velocity i think it would be a great steal if kw were to get a couple of stud prospects or a package built around a stud like that martinez center fielder the mets have waiting in the wings. This is a business you cant get sentimental, i love bobby just as much as the next guy but this makes too much sense if the right deal were to present itself.
  8. QUOTE (MAX @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 09:58 AM) 32 years old and he is a kid? When you're 50 it is... Edit: Or if you're ozzie guillen
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 15, 2008 -> 10:28 PM) He could be our missing Link in the '09 bullpen. I caught that pun, atta babe.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 13, 2008 -> 08:55 AM) What are you saying there? I meant the sox. Wow i need to stop drinking
  12. Im not sure this is the best move as he is a twinkie and half away from seriously challenging Uribe to a nathans hot dog eating competion, but in a roto article he is predicted as ended up with the sox. I know not a lot of people dont want him but do u think KW might do it for a short term incentive full contract. Link
  13. Yea and that was a great Truman Show quote at the end...haha
  14. This is probably my favorite show on tv now. "Guys why arent the breaks working???" "Because i cut the breaks!!! Wild Card b****es!!!" And i dont know how anyone doesnt like danny devito in this show hes hillarious "Frank what are you doing?" "I waterboarding the s*** of your sister" Edit: I have a bad feeling that boldly going nowhere show is going to suck...
  15. I cant believe Longoria got all of the first place votes i thought maybe alexei would get one or at least half one...and agreeing with rotoworld Ellsbury shouldnt have been so high.
  16. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 01:32 PM) Apparently the A's have acquired Matt Holliday, as of now details are not available. From Mlbtraderumors.com sourced Jon Heyman from SI.com Hey wouldnt it be funny if they sent geo to the rocks and he made his way back to chicago in a willy taveras deal???? I would literally laugh, because sometimes you have to to keep from crying.
  17. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Nov 10, 2008 -> 11:32 AM) Well, these days there's a 25% chance he got some sort of VD. Hope it was worth it...I'm sure it was. The Slayer is immune to VD...
  18. There is a zero percent chance fukodome will ever be on the white sox and why would you want him?
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 06:23 PM) 1) Ludwick or Ankiel for CF (because of the emergence of Rasmus) 2) Coco Crisp 3) Brandon Lyon (will be leaving D-Backs probably...) 4) Juan Cruz (ditto) Taking either Ankiel (because of the HGH) or Ludwick (sort of the Cardinals' version of Carlos Quentin) scares me a little, because we'd have to overpay IMO and both of them might struggle their first year in the AL making adjustments. I prefer a lot less talent going for Taveras. Crisp is someone that KW remains high on from everything I've heard. Cruz, and especially Lyon, would look nice in our pen, especially if we're actually shopping Jenks and/or Dotel. I dont want anything to do with ludwick. He has regression written all over him especially coming into the american league. THat is not the only thing against him though in my book.
  20. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 02:34 PM) Small market teams probably like helping the Cubs out because they know the more jerseys the Cubs sell, the more money they'll pocket through revenue sharing. Honestly I have no idea what else they'd be thinking. There is not one player in the Cubs minor league system and only a couple players on their Major League team that I'd rather have than Yunel Escobar alone. Add a CF in Schaffer or Hernandez, who are again better than anything the Cubs would give up aside from maybe Vitters, and Atlanta is offering more on top of that? Oh, I forgot how AWESOME Sean Marshall is. And man, that Ronny Cedeno is gonna be so good he's going to make Cesar Izturis look like Rey Ordonez! And Felix Pie?!?! GTFO! That guy is gonna hit .240 all over this b****! Man, what a deal... Btw obviously i have no way to prove this but i trust my buddy and he tells me he has a cousin in cali that use to blaze with vitters in high school...funny story
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 01:38 PM) Sounds like Cubs are going to get him, as the Padres would rather have a surplus of mediocre pitchers than actually get future studs. I'm convinced that Hendry has incriminating evidence on some of these GMs. He has to. This really pisses me off. He got aramis ramirez and lofton, for one year, for nothing. He got Derrek Lee, one of the best offensive 1bs in the national league for f-ing Hee Sop Choi. Also, the Rich Harden deal i found suspect. Even though hes not always been healthy for who they gave up that was a steal. Gallagher is trash and they would have given Murton away for a bag of bats and Patterson may just be corey 2.0. Id say the cubs are second only to the indians in the ultimate fleecing in trades.
  22. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 8, 2008 -> 01:56 PM) I hope we sign this kid. It would be like getting cheated on by an average-looking chick with a s*** personality who you just were with because she helped you win a championship three years ago and then getting all mad but then bouncing back with this Cuban chick who is like 50X hotter and hits for more power. If i could find a hot cuban chick that could hit or power id propose on the spot
  23. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 06:30 PM) I'm assuming this is sarcasm that being said i belive Ring is a Brave now. i couldnt find the green font...
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 06:27 PM) If Jenks was traded to the Mets, you'd probably see the Sox get Feliciano back in the trade and move Thornton to the closer role with Linebrink and Dotel as the set-up men. Hey you think we could pry royce ring back from them???????
  25. QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Nov 7, 2008 -> 06:23 PM) Dude, more than two words explaining would help I said just a thought, I highly doubt we trade Jenks anyways. I wansnt knocking your post, i actually think it might be a good idea which is why i suggested it a few posts before yours no hard feelings it was meant as a joke.
