QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 08:39 AM) I really dont believe this to be the case. Micah or Sanchez for sure, but i dont think they are gonna trade 2 prospects for Lawrie and then package him with other prospects for Frazier Yeah I just don't see why they would do that. I highly doubt the Reds would covet Lawrie. That being said, I'm for this if they still sign an OF. Putting Lawrie at second probably increases his value quite a bit as well.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 06:22 PM) Tonight will be busy. You back on good terms with your source or just in general?

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 03:14 PM) Since his name has come up with Frazier talks, I'm curious your thoughts on who you'd have to get in order to give him up? Someone who is under team control for 3 or more years.

QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 10:53 AM) I know majority doesn't want to trade Q but we really have to trade from our depth in order to improve our position players. We just saw ATL fleece a desperate team, I hope we are atleast calling and listening to what teams would give for Q. I still don't know if this team completely knows or agrees with each other internally about what direction this teaM should be going in next year and the next. Seriously the only other option is to gut the minor league system again to get better. The worst possible thing they could do here is stand pat or marginally upgrade 3B or another position. That doesn't put you in a better situation to win much more than last year. After seeing what Atlanta got for Miller who's performance is comparable to Quintana I would hope they're getting feelers on him. It is nearly impossible to improve on last year's team without gutting the minors or trading a starter.

White Sox decline to tender Tyler Flowers and Jacob Turner
Sockin replied to Baron's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I just don't see Dioner being THAT much better than Flowers. If they dumped Flowers I would imagine there's a bigger offensive acquisition incoming via trade. -
Jeff Samardjiza signs with SF Giants, 5/90.
Sockin replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I really hope he does. That can only be good for the Sox if they decide to put Quintana on the market. -
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 04:48 PM) Maybe it means the opposite: a great opportunity to, (dare I suggest something that the Sox haven't done in a decade+) sell high. Yeah this was my thought. Sox could have a real good opportunity to cash in on Quintana after teams see this deal.

Good news, I'll take the 22nd draft pick.

Stone's contract is up as well, isn't it?

It's happening!

This is so awesome. I was just thinking about this when I was at the game last night. Extremely excited.

Red Sox fans constantly give Cherington credit for drafting and their farm system. Man I would love somehow get him on the Sox.

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 05:36 AM) I love listening to other teams broadcasts, be it MLB.tv or Sirius radio. Hawk is easily the worst TV guy I have heard in the last 10 years since I started with MLB.tv/Extra Innings. I drove cross country a few years ago and had satellite radio and it was so refreshing to hear other teams radio broadcasts. No monotonous dull pbp guys. They actually talked about the game and described the action. Our 2 pbp guys are brutal compared to most others. Totally agree. I learn nothing about the game from him between his relentless focus on nostalgia and making outrageous homer statements like these. I enjoy the professionalism from other team's broadcasters and actual insights on how the game operates today rather than what happened in 1965. Not saying I don't appreciate it every now and again but it's just gotten so extreme. He's contributing to the dumbing down of the fanbase IMO. -

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 01:18 PM) Probably not real. His bio: Jayhawk Journalist ROCK CHALK Class of 2018 @KUSoftball beat writer @KUGolf beat writer @785Live producer and host @KJHKsprts studio host and play by play The Red Sox are discussing a 3 way trade with them, I think he got his Sox mixed up.

I would argue RF/DH is a bigger need at the moment.

QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 03:02 PM) Justin Sellers traded to White sox according to Chris Cotillo He's a AAAA SS. Precursor to a SS trade?
-
I like Cespedes but not as a rental. If you give them Avi, you have a hole in RF to fill next year in addition to catcher/3b/SS.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 02:35 PM) Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 57s57 seconds ago Sources: #Padres progressing on multiple deals, with Ross a key piece. Moving him would signal concession in ’15. But looking at adding too. Maybe one is with us for Upton? I feel like the only way we make a deal for a hitter is if they're around for at least the next year +

FWIW, Avi is not in the lineup tonight.
