Sox @ Tigers, Quintana vs. Scherzer, 4/24, 12:08, CSN
I don't think it's a mystery why Alburqurque's had like 3 different surgeries. The guy's throwing motion is absolutely awful.

2014 MLB catch-all thread
QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 24, 2014 -> 11:16 AM) http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/04...,40.581,-90.984 Map of who dominates each and every inch of the USA in terms of MLB fandom I think it's pretty interesting that some of the other teams that share cities (or metro areas) like Oakland and the Mets have absolutely no majority where they are located. The Yankees dominate New York and the Giants dominate the Bay Area. Yet, the Sox have a pretty steady foothold in the Chicagoland area.

Sox lead league in out of zone plays on D
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 23, 2014 -> 11:41 AM) The Sox attempted the fewest sac bunts in baseball last season. It was the 3rd lowest total of the past 10 years. Yet there were posts on Soxtalk how Robin like to give up outs. Probably because we didn't have enough base runners to sac bunt over.

Apparently Turner and Stephenson got into a fight before game 1 of their series. The Pacers FO sure found a way to make that team way more dysfunctional.

Lost in all of this was that terrible out of bounds call they made that led to a Beal 3. The NBA needs to allow reviews outside of the last two minutes of the game.

Hinrich's +/- for this game: -13. Yeah....nobody else on the team had more than -5 and most of that was because of the run late in the game.

Augustin started to struggle down the stretch as well, but he played so damn much down the stretch that he must have been absolutely exhausted. DJ's gotta get the ball more than Kirk at the end of games.

Double digit lead in the second half of both games. Up 10 with 6 minutes left in the second one and we lose both.

For the love of god Thibs, put in DJ, Butler, Dunleavy, Gibson, and Noah for this possession.

QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 22, 2014 -> 11:21 PM) Thibs. WTF, leave Kirk in and take out Taj? He must be in love with Kirk's defense lawl. Thibs is a great coach but my god is he stubborn.

Dunleavy's finally back in and an offensive foul on Wall.

Bulls are pretty much done if they lose this one. Oh well.

I'm fairly sure Kirk Hinrich has lost us this game. He's the only one who's fresh out of these guys and he's bricking every open shot.

NBA Thread 2013-2014
Jesus Christ Thibs, take out Kirk and put in Dunleavy. Might want to think about putting in Boozer too. These guys are gassed.

QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Apr 22, 2014 -> 11:02 PM) they look completely gassed. JIMMAY has returned to 48 minute status. DJ's played the last two quarters.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2014 -> 11:05 PM) Wow, how can you miss that foul on the jump ball? Gibson never even got to go up and tip the ball.

Just terrible. Brick after brick. I don't think Nene even got his hand on the ball for the jump ball call.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 22, 2014 -> 11:00 PM) Offense went bye bye when Dunleavy came off the floor. It makes no sense to leave him on the bench right now. Either play DJ or Kirk, not both. Beal is way too big for Augustin to guard.

NBA Thread 2013-2014
This Bulls offense has been absolutely dreadful down the stretch in both games so far.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 08:09 AM) Cosmos told one of my all-time favorite science stories last night, Dr. Patterson, the age of the Earth, and lead poisoning. I saw this last night. It's definitely been the best episode of the new series thus far.
