Chicago White Sox vs. Cleveland Indians
QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 04:29 PM) Important, late September home game against the Indians, with the team sputtering and clinging to the slimmest of first place leads. Something about this scenario seems vaguely familiar . . . . Here's hoping this is the night we GET OFF THE LEDGE and never look back. Last 3 games of the year are also in Cleveland.

Job Hunt Thread
Has anyone here interviewed with Google for a software developer position before? I'm intrigued at what kind of questions they ask (stupid brain teasers, or actual programming knowledge?).

2012 White Sox Catch-All thread
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 24, 2012 -> 03:09 PM) Mark Gonzales @MDGonzales Sox 9-game trip: .222 batting average, 2.93 ERA, outscored 34-25, 11-for-69 (.159) with runners in scoring position I'm surprised they actually hit that well. But then again, they did win 3 in Minnesota.

Final 10 games for both the White Sox and Kittens
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 23, 2012 -> 10:20 PM) Sox win 2 of 3 vs the Tribe at the Cell, split against the Rays and finish the season winning 2 of 3 at Cleveland. Kittens take 3 of 4 at home vs Royals, lose 2 of 3 at Minny and get swept at KC. ChiSox 87-75 Kittens 84-78 Post your predictions My predictions: Sox 1-2 vs. Cleveland; 1-3 vs. Tampa Bay and 2-1 at Cleveland for a 4-6 record. Minnesota 4-0 vs. KC; 1-2 vs. Minnie, 2-1 at KC for a record of 7-3. Hope I'm wrong. Really really hope I'm wrong. I think KC is really going to lay down for Detroit. KC is our rival; not Detroit's. Royals get up for the Sox like no other team. What makes you think the Sox would win a series in Cleveland, but lose a series against them at home? Royals also swept Detroit the last time they played.

The First Annual Steve9347 b**** about your Fantasy Teams here
My team dropped 60 points today. I had 30 on my bench with Matt Schuab. Rivers got me 5... It was almost the exact opposite last week. Not having Bradshaw really sucked. Jackson and McCoy also didn't do s*** for me.

GT: 9/23: Sox vs. Angels
Our chance of winning the division just went up 14% to 68%.

GT: 9/23: Sox vs. Angels
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 23, 2012 -> 04:39 PM) Who isn't this time of the year in a playoff hunt. I still have suspicions the team has too many mental midgets. Angels don't look so uptight at the plate.

GT: 9/23: Sox vs. Angels
This. Team. Blows.

GT: 9/23: Sox vs. Angels
You just wonder how we're so damn bad with RISP. Part of it is regression back to the mean (since we were abnormally good early in the season), but that's not enough to account for most of it. These guys must be so uptight at the plate right now.

GT: 9/23: Sox vs. Angels
QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Sep 23, 2012 -> 04:31 PM) People are focusing on one awful game from Viciedo. The ones that hurt don't mean more than the ones that don't...and he has had a good September for his standards. Viciedo's been awful for the past two months.
-
GT: 9/23: Sox vs. Angels
OMG Viciedo knocked a run in.
-
GT: 9/23: Sox vs. Angels
That would have been nice in the first inning A.J....

GT: 9/23: Sox vs. Angels
What a choke job. Everybody on the offense can't hit for s*** when guys are on base. It's unfair to expect our pitchers to throw shutouts every night.

The end of Ozzie Guillen in Miami?
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 23, 2012 -> 03:03 AM) I think watching Robin this season proves that you can second guess any manager. Can you honestly say Ozzie is any worse than Robin? Both managers made tons of moves that were second guessed in game threads. I happen to believe Ozzie is the best manager in baseball, but neither Ozzie or Robin can win without players doing their jobs. Robin Ventura is in his first year of managing at any level. He's not a good measuring stick for managers, especially when it comes to on-field tactics. I've said it many times before...Ozzie is better than Robin at managing bullpens. Ozzie is even better when it comes to matchups late in games. Both love to bunt too much though, especially with a team that can't bunt. This doesn't mean Ozzie is a good manager (I think the last two seasons are more or less telling of the manager he is), it just means he's got more experience than Robin (no shock there). Compare Ozzie against Joe Maddon and there is simply no contest. If you gave Ozzie the Tampa Bay Rays, he wins you maybe 75 games. That team wouldn't be able to score 3 runs a game with the way Ozzie runs things.

The end of Ozzie Guillen in Miami?
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 23, 2012 -> 01:40 AM) I said they'd win the WS cause of Ozzie. I knew nothing about their roster. So if they trotted out a bunch of high schoolers you still would have believed that Ozzie would take them to the World Series and win it? lol ok...

The end of Ozzie Guillen in Miami?
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 22, 2012 -> 11:00 PM) I wouldn't call it a cop out. I knew nothing about Miami's roster. I trusted the people on here who said they had some talent. They're not going to can him after one season and he still might succeed there if it's possible for that franchise to succeed. I haven't even followed them. Has heath bell kept the closing job all year? Did he ever get his act together? You were the one who said the Marlins would win a World Series. People here said you were crazy. Now you say it was us who told you they'd win the World Series? Total BS.
