  1. QUOTE (kev211 @ Mar 12, 2012 -> 10:02 PM) Hard hat and lunch pail Gibson. If only he would start making free throws again... Taj used to shoot FTs at 70%, what the hell happened to that?

I got the Vita today. The Show on it is kind of underwhelming after you've played the PS3 version. Still pretty damn good, but the frame rate and visuals are sorta eh. Portions of the game don't look all that different than the PSP versions (maybe I just have high standards or I just forgot what a PSP game looked like).

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 9, 2012 -> 02:33 PM) I cannot experss how much the experience increases in The Show when you add all your custom sounds. Player walk-up music, Thunderstruck to start the game, Nancy Faust's "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" playing randomly throughout the game and after losses. Let's Go-Go White Sox after the game ends. I added CSN music for between innings. After a "k" the stadium plays hawk saying "HE GAWN". It's a perfect experience. Someone over at OS uploaded a ton of random team specific stuff too. I'm excited for that first game against Texas, and to give up a bomb, to hear the Natural music in the background. Anyway, can't wait to play more tonight. They made Sale a beast in that game. You wanna share these with me? lol

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 9, 2012 -> 11:47 PM) Wow. The Show has everyone wearing 42 in a Sunday game. Wow. Wow. I also saw the sweat stains on Adam Kennedy's cap since it was a pretty hot day. The amount of detail in this game is incredible.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 8, 2012 -> 11:51 AM) MLB 12 is nuts. It's so incredible. Stephen Strasburg is a beast in that game. They actually made Chris Sale really legit, too, which I did not expect. Man, the Sox suck. I'll either have to do a draft or get trade crazy. Right now I'm just enjoying the RTTS, which is vastly improved. The skills they have you run through actually teach you ball recognition, and the points feedback is much better and doesn't crush you for good at bats just because you didn't get a hit. 11/10. I got 13 Ks with Sale in my first game. My Vita's getting here on Tuesday. Can't wait to take MLB 12 on the go with me.
  6. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Mar 8, 2012 -> 11:01 PM) Korver had 6 wide open 3 pointers and missed them all. ALL OF THEM. Pathetic. He should feel bad. He's a streaky player, that's how a lot of three point shooters are.
  7. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 8, 2012 -> 09:42 PM) The dude doing the T and the Joakim Noah dance afterwards is hilarious.
  8. QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 7, 2012 -> 11:42 PM) I didn't post it because of anything that happened tonight (or anything that the Bulls have ever done). You shouldn't presume things, especially since I wasn't even replying to a comment that was about the Bulls game. Jesus christ, defensive much? It was posted because it's an interesting article on an interesting topic, and because the ridiculous mindset that LeBron is an awful person because he doesn't take the last shot for his team in every possible situation (which chw42 alluded to). It seemed pretty relevant to that. LeBron doesn't want that kind of pressure on him, so he either gives the ball to Wade or freaking Udonis Haslem. It's been this way since Boston beat Cleveland in the playoffs a few years back. If there's any single intangible in basketball that's of any importance, it's having the drive to put the team on your back the entire game, including the last possessions, which oh by the way, are some of the most important in the game. People don't just like closers for the hell of it, they do it because closing a basketball game isn't easy. This isn't about LeBron's basketball skills, it's about his mindset. He probably has twice the talent of any player in the NBA, but his drive and motivation to be THE guy just isn't there. He's his own worst enemy and I think we should all be glad that's the case, or else every other team in the NBA would be championship-less for the next five years.
  9. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Mar 7, 2012 -> 09:24 PM) You could see Rose frantically looking for Haslem to dish it off to, but alas had to take it himself. Hahaha. LeBron sat in the corner today while D-Wade took the last shots in their game against Atlanta.
  10. Jennings is DRose's b****. Rose did something similar to him in a game last year at the Bradley Center.
  11. Dunn looks to be in awesome shape, I'd say he has a chance to hit at least .240 this year.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 6, 2012 -> 08:57 PM) That's only on the Canadian version, sadly. Yeah...sadly. Did they change the color of the PS3 cases? The picture you had looks like the case is blue. WTF man, why do they have to make changes like this? It totally ruins the look of my game collection. I still don't know if I want the Vita version of the Show or the PS3 version. Vita version looks eh so far from impressions and the limited videos I've seen, but I'll only judge after I've seen it in person. Edit: I couldn't pass up this deal: got PS3 and Vita versions of MLB 12 for $70 off Amazon. This probably means I'll get the Vita and even if I don't, I can sell the Vita version for at least $30 on eBay. Mwahaha.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 6, 2012 -> 02:27 PM) Beats the hell out of looking at Adrian Gonzalez. I prefer the Jose Bautista cover.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 4, 2012 -> 07:06 PM) Ramirez was horrible with situational hitting last year, though. The other side of the coin is that putting him in the 2 slot, he is almost forced by a new manager to be more of a "team player" and less of a free swinger. But will that take away his aggressiveness, or make him start going back up the middle and to RF? Morel seemed to "shrink" his offensive game in that type of situation, and the power only came back later when he started to feel like he belonged. Alexei's a .287 hitter in the 2 hole. He hit .294 in that spot last year. His highest OPS in any spot in the lineup is the #2 spot at .760, higher than his career OPS by 15 points. He's also played 214 games in this spot, so it's not like there's a small sample size issue. I don't see how it's really made him do anything but hit better.
  15. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Mar 4, 2012 -> 02:32 PM) That is some confidence Robin putting Rios in the 3 hole. If Rios got his head out of his ass, he'd be a really good 3-hole hitter. Not sure I like A.J. in the second spot, it's putting two lefties together at the top of the order and A.J.'s slow and can't get on base. If you put Alexei there, you at least have L/R combo with pretty good speed.
  16. QUOTE (Felix @ Mar 4, 2012 -> 05:18 PM) It's almost like his backup is the corpse of Baron Davis Well, it was Mike Bibby, which is pretty close to the corpse of Baron Davis.
  17. Nice win for the Lakers. Looks like Miami needs Bosh pretty badly when they go up against other teams with some front court depth. The Heat have no depth up front after Haslem and Anthony.
  18. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 4, 2012 -> 02:53 PM) I think we're overrating Rondo's defense here. Rondo always has one of the highest STL% and DRtg among all players, not just point guards. He has more defensive win shares than he does offensive ones in his career.
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 4, 2012 -> 02:50 PM) The first game he went off was against deron. Of course Deron went off on him the 2nd time. Williams and Rondo aren't in the same tier defensively. I think Rondo is the first great defensive point guard Lin has played against.
  20. Kobe is pissed off. 5-5 with 12 points. Lakers up 16-9.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 4, 2012 -> 02:45 PM) Lin against good teams is funny. I also like how Amare tries to one hand that putback dunk and blows it. Lin against good teams with actual point guards is funny. I don't think it's coincidental he went off against the Mavs and Lakers. Derek Fisher and Jason Kidd are far too old to keep up with him. But when you stick Rondo on him, different story.
  22. Rondo with 20 assists. Hot damn.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 4, 2012 -> 02:41 PM) "Melo isolates on this side, everyone else clears out". Yeah, the Knicks aren't winning anything anytime soon.
  24. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 4, 2012 -> 11:05 AM) RT @JonHeymanCBS #Braves hitting coach greg walker on his team being 1-hit in spring opener: "the honeymoon is already over." Hahaha, it's not like this hasn't happened before.
