Why did the Royals pick such a crappy time to have this DH? Why after a night game? Was it that hot yesterday in KC?

Joe West's zone sucks. He's called three balls on strikes in this inning alone. And these are pretty obvious too, both to the eye and on pitch f/x.

Ball 3 was a strike.

That was the first inning they had any kind of a threat on Buehrle. Must get more runs to put game out of contention. Three here would be very nice. I think 7 runs is about the threshold where I would feel comfortable against the Twins team.

Looks like the Twins are starting to change their approach up there a bit now. Last two balls in play have been liners.

I like this Mark Buehrle. He's at his best when he gets guys to chase well located pitches early in the count.

Pierre's recent run has made him a decent contributor to this team. Add on his pretty good defense and he's been serviceable.
