QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 09:06 PM) Bigger question -- what the f*** are ESPN and LeBron James doing associating with the "University" of Phoenix? Didn't you hear? LeBron's going to college!

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 09:03 PM) How many FTs a game will Miami average next year? I imagine there games will be a good 30 minutes longer than everybody elses. I'm not sure Stern will give all these guys calls.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 08:57 PM) Riley promised Lebron some guys I feel Shaq will be the first piece. Shaq C Bosh PF Then theyll get a PG and have 5 stars. Maybe theyll win, but theyll never been considered the best team ever and none of them will ever be the best player. Always fun to shoot for almost the best. As Jay-Z would say: "Rank me among the greats, either 1, 2 or 3 If I ain't number one then I failed you victory." Lebron will never be 1, 2 or 3 after today Looks like LeBron didn't take his buddy's advice.

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 08:51 PM) That just doesn't make sense. The Lakers STILL have more talent than the Heat right now. Unless Pat Riley can work some magic, the Lakers are going to go into the season with more talent. Kobe, Gasol, Odom, Bynum, Artest is without a doubt still greater than LeBron, Wade, and Bosh. Unless the Heat find someone to defend 7 footers, it's going to be a struggle against Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol etc. Some older guys will flock to that team. They'll get their pieces.

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 08:47 PM) This board has lost it's mind. You have one team in the Lakers that were given the flopping Pau Gasol for nothing, have a possible rapist and certified douchebag as it's leading scorer. Has the piece of crap Artest and the fakest fanbase in the land. Then you have Miami with fans that have never won much, 3 guys that have never been in trouble, and now it's the Lakers as the good guys? Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce are bigger piece of craps than anyone on the Heat roster. I can understand some frustration, but my goodness take a step back and breathe. The Bulls have a fantastic roster and will be contenders. But you can't talk s*** on LeBron after what Boozer did to Cleveland. LeBron actually took less money and left his hometown all because he wanted to win. He didn't care about being the main man, or Michael Jordan. He just wants to win. Nevermind that Kobe couldn't win s*** without at least one other top 10 player in the world in Shaq or Pau Gasol down low. This is not going to give Miami championships, it just makes them a strong contender. The Lakers still have two top 10 guys and arguably 4 top 25 guys in the NBA. The Bulls have a loaded roster, as do the Thunder etc. Nothing is given. Believing so is silly and foolish. This makes them a 65 win team and it makes them the HEAVY favorites to win the title. The people you talked about might be douchebags, but they have not killed the NBA.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 08:45 PM) I actually really like Zoom's idea of trading for Rip Hamilton actually. No he's not the ideal 3 point sniper, but basically a 2 point version of Ray Allen who comes off screens and back screens and shoots at an efficient rate. Add defense to the equation and you got a good player to pair with Rose and sign a sniper for the bench that a team can't match his RFA rights (in other words.. overpay a bit) like Morrow or Redick. I think the Bulls should really look into this. Hamilton makes $37 million for the next 3 years, the last year isn't guaranteed though.

LeBron is trying to tell us how to build a team. Funny. Everything he says makes him out to be contradictory.
