Frank Menechino just shed a tear looking at this tweet

8/11- Chicago White Sox @ Kansas City Royals - 1:10 PM CDT NBCSCH
This is a microcosm of the entire season on offense. Hit a bunch of singles to load the bases and then don't score after loading the bases.

6 hits and 0 runs. They're pulling the good ol Menechino again.

These guys struck out against a guy who doesn't strike anyone out anymore. They're so mentally broken at the plate.

Moncada
I've had highlights for Sox players from 2019 to 2021 pop up on my YouTube feed. Current Yoan is basically not the same guy as 2019 Yoan and current Grandal is nowhere near the guy he was just last year. It's crazy how these guys just lost their talent to hit the ball.

8/10 at KC - Cueto vs. Bubic (7:10 start)
Said Johnny while looking over at Yoan Moncada's locker.

8/10 at KC - Cueto vs. Bubic (7:10 start)
It'd still be 3-1 if Yoan actually tried this inning

Moncada fucking sucks

8/10 at KC - Cueto vs. Bubic (7:10 start)
He's actually an above average offensive player this year despite hitting .240.

Cueto probably has the worst run support on the team.

Tim Anderson out 4-6 weeks with torn ligament in his hand
Didn't he hit a homer the day after that? Then he hurt his groin against the Cubs a week later.

8/9 Game 1 GT: Sox at Royals - Lynn vs. TBD (Tue 310CT)
They're gonna let Singer throw the whole game aren't they? Not real good when you're playing a 2nd game today.

WTP and not seeing many pitches. Great approach!

Tim Anderson out 4-6 weeks with torn ligament in his hand
This was also broken by the Cubs beat writer. What the fuck are our beat writers doing?

Tim Anderson out 4-6 weeks with torn ligament in his hand
I think there's 8 cause the season goes into October. But yeah, TA won't be able to do a minor league rehab on his way back. We'll probably still be in the race by then just because we have 6 games left with the Twins in the last 9.

Get ready for lots of Leury Garcia. Sosa is probably here to stay cause of the injury, but I doubt he gets a lot of PT. On the bright side, Pollock will get to hit leadoff a lot and we'll get to see if he's actually good there over a sustained period of time.

I think some guys in the game thread called this on Saturday.

8/7 GT: Sox @ Rangers - Giolito vs. Howard (135pmCT)
Mostly cause they play the Tigers and Royals 7 times this next week. After next week, the Sox only have 10 games left against those 2 teams.
-
8/7 GT: Sox @ Rangers - Giolito vs. Howard (135pmCT)
That's the thing with this team. Last year's team did just ok against good teams but they cleaned up against the bad ones. The Sox went 6-1 against the Rangers last year. They went 7-0 against the Orioles. Those 2 teams are both better this year, but I'm not sure they're good enough to go 7-4 against us this year so far.

8/7 GT: Sox @ Rangers - Giolito vs. Howard (135pmCT)
We're running out of easy opponents. We really need to go at least 5-2 in the next week if we want a shot at the division.

Nice recovery from the offense today. If only they could have hit like that in the first 2 games.

8/7 GT: Sox @ Rangers - Giolito vs. Howard (135pmCT)
I remember when Ruiz used to throw 98-99. He's now throwing 95.

I'm surprised he even has 2 hits.
