  1. Mayer definitely would have made this Sale trade part 2: electric boogaloo
  2. Boston loves trading for tall lefties that throw weird, don't they? Pretty good return. This is the kind of value we should have gotten for Cease.
  3. Not addressing the line with the amount of cap space they had was idiotic. Kevin Zeitler was out there for $6 million and Poles gave that money to Gerald Everett instead.
  4. Miami ranked 14th in the AP poll, behind Alabama and South Carolina. They're definitely not making the CFP.
  5. If Clemson wins the ACC, I really don't see how they can keep SMU out but put Bama in. SMU would have to get destroyed by 50 for it to happen. Miami vs. Bama is a legit argument, although you can argue 2 of Bama's losses should be disqualifying. Miami's losses were at least to 2 pretty solid teams, although you could also argue that they should have lost at least 2 more games to 2 really bad teams (VT and Cal). South Carolina is probably the hottest team that can still make the playoff, but their loss to Bama probably disqualifies them to the committee.
  6. Of course we trade Edman and Kopech to the Dodgers for straight trash and they end up being major pieces to a World Series team.
  7. Well they need to upgrade the line this off-season anyways. All of Poles' big signings should be on the defensive or offensive line.
  8. Not considering anyone last year was stupid in general. There were a really good set of free agent coaches out there. Hell Vrabel and Belichick are still available. Ben Johnson also apparently had interest in the Bears job and I wonder if he stayed in Detroit just in case the Bears job became available. Because it sure as hell seemed like he wanted no part in the Commanders job.
  9. I thought they'd make Washington interim because of this. To have Brown focus more on the offense. Now he's got another set of things to worry about. What's funny is that Brown's play calls kind of caused that disaster yesterday. I'm not sure if the QB draw call was from Brown or just something the team does when they get into late game situations (see Washington game), but I don't think Brown was blameless for the situation he put the team in. The call coming in late to Caleb also made it even worse.
  10. I don't know what they were thinking running QB draw on 2nd and long. The blocking on the play was atrocious up the middle and it honestly seemed like the line didn't know it was a draw play outside of the center. It was like when Illinois ran a QB power at the 40 and got tackled in bounds last week against Rutgers. It took a miracle for them to recover from that, but they should have lost that game because of a call like that. The missed throw to Moore on 3rd down wasn't an awful throw, but it's the kind of throw where if he made it correctly, Moore's running for a long time after. That's the type of throw Caleb should be making. Moore shouldn't have dropped it, but Caleb needs to do better.
  11. Yeah Poles is lucky he's not gone along with Eberflus since he was the one who decided to keep him. Way to throw a season away.
  12. These are the types of losses you want when the season is down the drain anyhow. I'd actually be mad about this game had they won the games against Washington and Green Bay, but the team is going nowhere this year. Caleb has proven that he's pretty good when the game comes down to the final drive. That's where this year is much different than 2022, where Fields lost a lot of games late. It's not Caleb's fault the head coach keeps fucking things up. Get him fired and get better draft position for next year.
  13. Holy hell, if he doesn't get fired after that, he never will be. Caleb looked good in the 2nd half, but there are still way too many missed layups. He had Moore for a possible TD on a shallow crosser on that last set of downs and threw it in the ground well short. I know he was gonna get hit hard after he let it go, but you have to make that throw.
  14. Caleb woke up after that near season ending hit. But please slide next time.
  15. That might have been the most interesting Saturday of college football all season.
  16. Good thing that's never going to happen (the going 4-4 part, that is).
  17. I'm not sure if this is Packers players trolling or actual insight, but this is now the 2nd time the opposition has been surprised by the Bears' mismanagement at the end of the game. The last one was Washington being surprised they got 13 yards for free to set up the hail mary.
  18. Nagy and Trestman. This has been a time honored tradition for bad Bears coaches. They all p**** out and decide it's not worth risking a fumble when the field goal at 40+ yards is by no means a gimme.
  19. Remember when we were beating bad teams by 4 scores just 4 weeks ago? Something is seriously broken. They have to at least shake up the play calling on offense. Otherwise, it's gonna be 50-6 next week against Green Bay.
  20. Waldron scheming absolutely nobody open. Line hasn't even been the problem today.
  21. Caleb's gonna be running for his life.
  22. And now Williams looks like he's gonna be out for a few weeks. Great job Eberflus. You let your franchise QB get hurt in a game you were down 20 with 2 minutes left.
  23. He's had one good game so far. He looks so old and slow. Almost never open cause he's just too slow. And when he has been open, he's been dropping catchable passes.
  24. That Chris Sale trade sure sucked. We got maybe 15 WAR out of it.
