Mike Tyson killed?
If only Twitter exsisted back in the 60's, the Paul McCartney is dead rumor would've been nipped in the bud...

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 02:11 PM) And don't be surprised when people treat you both like trolls, because that is exactly what has been going on. Most posters here are respectful, look at the comments during and after the Packers/Giants game, if we had meathead Bears fans here they would be posting stuff like "suck it Green Bay!!", but they're no posts like that... Of course us Bears fans were happy just like when the Lions got knocked off (it's called rivalry) but no point in rubbing it in to the Packer fans here who don't troll.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 01:25 PM) The 49ers are actually my second favorite team and have been since the early 90s and I was never in this thread badmouthing them or not giving them a shot to win, yet I have to come in here and read "98% of Bears fans this" or "Every Bears fan I know that" from the two 49ers fans. I realize this isnt a Bears forum but at the same time the White Sox play in Chicago, so of course the majority of the White Sox fan base will also be Bears fans. That said, the Bears fans on this board are actually some of the more knowledgeable and realistic fans you will come across on the internet. As the end of the season came and the playoffs began I found myself basically wanting the 49ers to get knocked out of the playoffs just because of how annoying this thread has been and because I was worried it would become unreadable if the niners won. To me its very similar to the Tim Tebow coverage on ESPN, if guys like Skip Bayless werent so far to one extreme that it basically forces other people to take on the other extreme and despise Tebow he probably would have been a lot of fun to root for. For example, Id be willing to bet if there were 0 niners fans on this board that well over half the people on here would vocally be rooting for the 49ers, me included. I hate the Saints personally. Also, it wasnt "hating" to think the niners were gonna lose. They were underdogs at home in Vegas and one of the biggest question marks about the niners is how would their offense handle getting into a shootout with one of the 3 big time offenses this season, and they certainly answered the question and Im sure in the process they impressed a lot of doubters. Also, a lot of the jabs you guys have taken at the Bears were just for the sake of trolling so a lot of the heat you took was reactionary. I know every fan base is littered with idiots and Im sure you do indeed have to listen to dumb Bears fans somewhere in your life but from what Ive seen it really isnt that bad in here. great post If these two Niner fans get crap from outside Bears meathead fans, they shouldn't take it out on us. I didn't know it was an insult to pick the Saints over the 49ers... For me personally, the "I wonder who the Bears fans will blame when they continue to suck under the new GM" statement riled me up...hey Niners fans, you guys are hosting the NFC Championship game, one win away from the SuperBowl, just like we were one year ago. BTW, a cousin of mine is a huge 49ers from way back so if you guys do pull it off, at least I'll be happy for him.

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 01:21 PM) I never said Alex was an elite QB. He has beaten many elite QB's this year though. Unless Smith also plays defense, that statement is more a testament of SF's solid D this year.

SOXOBAMA, you realize you're coming off as a homer? Alex Smith was a beast on Saturday, is he elite? No, one great playoff game doesn't make him great. I think that's all Steve is trying to say.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 12:05 PM) 06 yes, not a lot of people thought of the Bears as a legit sb winning team last year. This I thought if we would make it to the SB, we would've lost to the Steelers.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 11:00 AM) I was super young in the 80s when the 49ers were beating on the Bears, so I have limited memory of that, and don't really hate the 49ers. I did enjoy watching their defense play on Sunday. But the 49ers fans in this thread have definitely made me root against them in these playoffs. I'm old enough to remember the 49ers beating the Bears in 84/85, and the beatdown the Bears gave the Niners the next year at the Stick, the game where they used the Fridge on offense, as a response to the 49ers using a OLineman IIRC in the NFC championahip. I also remember when Montana and co. knocked us out at home in the late 80's in the NFC title game and Seifert running up the score on a MNF game when their team didn't make the playoffs while the Bears did (they even had a better record but didn't win their division, this was pre Wild Card era. My point is I used dislike SF (not hate, I reserve that word for the Pack, Vikings and Lions) but I also disliked the Redskins, Cowboys, Eagles etc... Years of 9er irrelevance softened the dislike, I really don't care for them one way or another, like most Bears fans I would guess.

QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 11:12 AM) that or those posts were drowned out by the "He can't win a title on his own" posts. Sports fans are cute, you're either a wuss for not being able to carry a team on your own, or you suck because you don't want to go to where the winning is at. When I think of winning basketball, the Heat didn't exactly register (talking about pre LBJ, they won one title thanks to the refs).

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 10:20 AM) I get that they're both from Chicago, but Thomas didn't openly flirt with the Bulls and then undermine them by calling them unloyal. Also, both stayed with teams that drafted them, so neither are traitors...just Wade is a douche who slammed our org. The reason I dislike Thomas was because he led the freeze out against MJ in his first All Star game and acted like a little b**** when the Bull finally eliminated him and his team's dirtball tactics by walking out before the end of game 4 of that sweep...I guess traitor isn't the right word, so yeah, let's call him a douche too.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 03:59 PM) Any team would suffer. But some teams would be just unwatchable. The Bulls are one of those teams. Yeah, the Bulls are awful to watch without Rose, they are SO dependent on Rose to score and create and Rose pulling double teams opens up the floor for others. On a positive note, CJ looked really good....less Lucas please!!!

Maybe having him coming off the bench will re-energize him. Jo has to work the chronic outta his system Taj should start.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 16, 2012 -> 11:29 AM) I know you love your boy. But no, he went above and beyond anything he had done previously this year. He won them that game. I so not expected that from Smith, I thought the Saints would be able to put at least 28 pts on SF, never expected Smith to beast the way he did, made some high quality throws. So far I'm 6 for 8 in predictions, only loses were to Tebow and 49ers unlikly outgunning the Saints they've cost me some nice cash
