17 Ks through 7. Please let him go for the record...
-
That's who I was referring to haha.
-
When he connects and crushes one from the left side, that swing is beautiful. Reminds me a little bit of one of the greatest of all time...
-
No one should. He's fucking awful at his job. Complete clown.
-
But but but, we needed James Shields!!! RIck Hahn is a clown and shouldn't still be employed. Again, it's not who they traded. It's the piece of literal garbage they traded for. It just so happens that the guy they traded might end up being pretty good, which just makes matters even worse.
-
Rick Hahn is a shitty GM and is terrible at his job. He really needs to shut up and stop making excuses for everything that he has a hand in messing up. It's that simple at this point. "Losers always whine about their best, winners go home and fuck the prom queen." Go away Hahn.
-
Because Rick Hahn is terrible at his job, that's why. People always point to the fact that he locked up Sale, Q and Eaton on great team friendly contracts, but then totally over look the fact he couldn't put a good team around them to save his life. Then had to trade those very same players. The clown should not be the one in charge of a rebuild that he helped create due to his shitty roster creation.
-
Rick Hahn is terrible at his job. That's really just the bottom line. Well, that an the entire front office being a dumpster fire, owner included.

KW: "It's a shame" the Sox are being portrayed as cheap
soulfly replied to Jose Abreu's topic in Pale Hose Talk
These clowns make it real hard to be a Sox fan. They all need to go. From the top down. Just go away. -
Fuck Rick Hahn along with the entire front office. Bunch of clowns who are terrible at their jobs. What a joke of a franchise.
-
Because if you have a serious high offer on the table and you ask politely not to mention your teams involvement and to do so would run the risk of the offer being pulled. That's why there would be silence about the Sox right now.
-
Been saying the same thing for a while now. Harper was the main target and that Machado was if the price was right. They most certainly aren't out on Harper. They just don't want to get the fan base thinking they have it in the bag again to look even worse than they currently do for not signing Machado. Again, it's not just the fact they didn't sign him. It's that they traded for his brother in law and signed his friend, that makes them look like total fools since they didn't land him.
-
F for fucking awful. I'm sorry, but you don't get a good grade because you had to trade the players you did to acquire the parts that make the rebuild seem worthwhile. He was the reason we had to rebuild in the first place. Total clown.
-
You mean, just like the Padres did to the Sox literally yesterday? What a bunch of fucking morons. If you don't get him, you don't get him, but at least make the other teams pay for him. Are they seriously trying to be friendly to other another front office right now? Holy hell are these guys an embarrassment.
-
Why'd you have to go and remind us all about that? Haha. But you know what's awesome about his shitty jokes? No one is going to be watching the games really this year to hear them anyways. Clown show of an organization.

Couldn't go 300 on Machado. He never said that about Harper. Again, I'll keep saying this. Harper was their bigger target. They knew full well that it would cost MINIMUM 10/300 for him at the start before they ever met with him. Now, if it comes out that they had framework in place to sign both, then that means they were well prepared to go over 300 million for Harper. Unless he signs for 350, or something crazy, the Sox have to be right there, especially now after losing out on Machado. Unless they have lied right to our faces. If Harper signs for 320 or so and it comes out that the Sox only wanted to offer 280, sell the fucking team JR and fire every goof in the front office that doesn't have a clue to do their fucking jobs. That said, I'm pretty sure something is cooking right now and it should be ready to take out of the oven soon.
-
Again, either they were flat out LYING to the fan base about trying to sign these guys, or they were always trying to get both. It was public knowledge at the start of free agency that Harper turned down 10/300. That tells any team going to sign him, that is serious about doing so, that's the minimum he would take. So again, they would have had to know that going in and there's no way they would even have met with him if that wasn't the case. Unless they were all like, weeeellll he turned down 300, but he'll take our 250, plus options!!!111!1!!

Ok, serious talk time. We all know that Machado was in town to meet with the Sox, but does anyone know if the pitch that was given to him was about the same as they did for Harper? The pictures that leaked from the United Center, sending out Thome, etc for Harper. Was the same type of treatment done for Machado? Sure, he came to meet with the top brass here, but it sure seems like they went harder on Harper before ever commenting on Machado. Remember, all the Harper stuff leaked first. I still think that was their main target all along. You can't possibly tell me that they didn't know the price tag to sign him before meeting him. Boras would have said, it's 300 million minimum, don't waste our time otherwise. I honestly feel like they did truly want both and tried to get Machado on a discount and were willing to pay for Harper. If it comes out that they never put a serious offer in for Harper, then fuck the entire front office for lying to remaining loyal fans they have left. Hahn should be out of a job if there wasn't even an offer close to the 300 million talked about at the start of FA for Harper. All that said, they knew full well going in to this FOR MONTHS what it would likely cost to get either of these guys money wise. How they could possibly be blindsided by their low ball offers is beyond me. Also, if the Phillies were that close to signing Harper, it would have happened after Machado signed. I'd like to believe that means our FO isn't totally fucking clueless and has some sort of an idea how to sign free agents that aren't over pays like they have this entire off season. Maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part.
-
What an utter joke. Unless, as I said before the main target was always Harper and they were trying to get Machado on the cheap. Bringing in his friends and not landing him is inexcusable. That's something you do AFTER YOU SIGN HIM. Hahn needs to be fired, immediately. Unless this means Harper to the Sox and that's where the money was going, they straight up lied to the entire fanbase by saying they were at the table and serious about landing either of these guys. Coming out and saying they couldn't go to 300, which was on the low end of the estimated contracts it would take to get these guys, is a fucking joke.
-
Because they knew at the start of FA what the offer that was turned down was. They knew what it would cost to get him the moment they decided to go for him. Trust me, they didn't meet with him and stay in this to not be prepared to go more than 10 million over the original starting point. You don't do the presentation they did and send out Thome, etc, to not be in this to win it. 310 isn't what he's signing for, to play in Philly of all places.
-
Bingo.
-
The Nats original offer of 10/300 was leaked and rejected before FA even started. It goes without reason that all teams interested knew about this and that would be the starting point. I have a hard time believing that the current offer is 10/310 and that only one team was willing to go only 10 million a year over the original turned down offer. Any teams front office that said they were seriously interested in bringing him in and didn't assume the price was 300 million plus was what it would take, weren't serious about him in the first place. So either more than a few teams front offices were lying, or this isn't the deal that gets signed. Let's put it like this. This is obviously just a leak to get a different team to up their offer. There's still more going on, but it should end soon. This is most certainly holding up the announcing Machado deal...
-
Or perhaps another signing.
-
Maybe the Machado deal was wrapped up already and they were waiting on finishing something else?
-
Or you know, he was just posturing. You keep your leverage to both agents if you say your plan is to only get one, if you have offers out to them both and make them think whichever signs first is the one they get. There would be zero reason to ever come out and say anything along the lines of getting both players, or that signing both is a realistic possibility. There have been too many leaks already and they aren't happy about it.
