Machado: Update - Manny, do you officially like us?
soulfly replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I find it hard to believe that Hahn would trade for Alonso if he didn't have a pretty good feeling that Machado would sign here. Maybe I'm just being naive, but I would like to think that someone with his position and credentials wouldn't just blindly trade for him in the off chance it might help the front offices chance to sign another player. They have put so much thought and effort into this rebuild that it seems asinine to make a trade for a player such as Alonso and waste any talent and money on him when there are other guys who can fill the same role for a fraction of the cost. I mean, honestly, why make that trade unless you were damn sure Machado was going to sign here and that was one of his swing conditions? Otherwise it just reeks of desperation and is showing that the front office can't properly manage a rebuild. That said, I'll wait until the deal is signed and it's picked up by more than one person on twitter. All things being equal, I think Alonso was brought in after a conversation with Machado or his agent, as one thing that he would love to do as a player is to play with Alonso. I think this a leak to get the other teams to up their offers. Just have to wait and see, but I don't see it playing out like this. -
Rosenthal: Could Harper be headed to the southside

If that's the case, then they already have a deal in place and it's getting finalized as we speak. -
Home Opener Game Thread! White Sox vs Tigers

I really hope in a few years AJ is in the booth full time. Whatever they have to do, please make that happen. -
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Mar 31, 2018 -> 08:38 PM) Is it me or is it odd to pinch run for the second runner and not the slow guy on 2B? I'm glad he answered our question with a double, haha.

There was never a reason to trade for him in the first place. What the front office was thinking, I have no idea. Hot garbage doesn't even deserve to have his name attached to it.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Feb 25, 2018 -> 11:34 AM) Its really weird. He isnt wrong in much of what he said. He actually explained the concepts of how the kinematic chain of the lower extermity can cause the foot issues that he had. Whoever he is seeing now has a good handle on lower extremity kinematics. Where he is wrong is saying that the orthotics caused the kinematic chain issues. The kinematic chain issues were there, he just got caught up in two different treatment philosophies to treat them. The orthotics change the position of the foot to correct the mechanical issues from the bottom going up. The hip and gluteus treatment he was discussing treats the issue from the top to the bottom. Both can work depending on what is mechanically deficient. Im surprised the white sox didnt try the second approach after the orthotics didnt work but the orthtics didnt cause the issue, this is where the new practitioner is wrong. Orthotics do not cause permanent chages otherwise people wouldnt need to wear them for more than a short period of time. Its actually a really good insight into different methods of treating the same issue. He may be a wackadoodle but he is very intelligent. I honestly just lurk here, but I stop and read every one of your posts. The insight and knowledge you post is amazing. Thank you!

QUOTE (wrathofhahn @ Feb 12, 2018 -> 12:33 PM) Jenni Rivera died in 2012. Brandy Halladay was his wife. It wasn't very clear, but he was referring to Loaiza's ex wife, not Halladay's. There was no fake news there.

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Dec 15, 2017 -> 01:24 AM) For me. Ep 5 Ep 7 Ep 6 Ep 4 Ep 8 Rogue One Ep 2 Ep 3 Ep 1 How on earth is 5 your favorite one, yet Rogue One is 6th on the list? Rogue One was so much better than 7 it isn't even funny.

QUOTE (FloydBannister1983 @ Nov 1, 2017 -> 04:35 PM) Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, I suppose. It was a yawner to me. Guys hitting home runs off bad relievers never interested me. Agreed. It was a sloppy trash game. Sad it was being talked about as one of the best. Take away the nonsense with the balls the way they are and this is a pretty lackluster WS. Which is a shame, because they are two good teams going at it. But so far, the hype seems to be for the casual baseball fan thinking that high scoring slop fests are amazing.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 11:24 AM) Some people will only focus on the negative and not acknowledge the positive. The organization must be 100% on all decisions otherwise they are useless. i'm surprised people aren't still complaining about Gio being in the post-season and the screw up there. I don't think it's so much that they traded him. It's who they traded him for. I don't think there was anyone on here that was excited, or thought the Sox should have traded for Shields. I'll still never understand that move, even more so when the medicals come in to play from SD.

Anderson is awful. Just painful to watch.

Good read. One thing I'd point out though, it says Maddon is the owner, not the manager. Just figured I'd let you know.

QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Sep 4, 2016 -> 11:33 AM) As I remember it (and someone please feel free to check) the reason the Sox weren't able to finish the deal for Miggy was because they refused to take on the contract of the pitcher the Marlins were trying to get rid of. Sorry I don't remember his name, he had a few good seasons mostly with them, had a funky delivery, then completely lost it. Mark Dontrelle Willis -
QUOTE (ptatc @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 01:17 PM) Starting pitchers are usually in the clubhouse earlier than most of the other players. Besides if he started freaking out and attacking the jersey's with a knife, would you get in the way? I get that they would be in earlier, but I'd have to imagine someone was there when it happened. Unless I knew the guy personally hated me, yea, I'd say something if I was in the clubhouse when something like that happened. I'm sure everyone has seen people freak out at inanimate objects before. They usually don't turn and attack the person next to them too. He isn't going to stab his friend over a jersey, I'd hope. If he's that much of a headcase and the other guys in the locker room also think so, then they should ship him out before the deadline.
-
This whole thing is comical. If he didn't want to wear it, why not just cut up his own jersey and his alone? If he did cut up other jerseys, other than his own, it begs the question, where was everyone else when this happened? You're telling me there wasn't a single other player in the clubhouse when this happened? Seems silly that other guys were in there and just let that happen. If there were other guys on the team there, it should have ended with cutting his own jersey. End of story. This team sorely needs a real leader to stop things like this from happening in the first place.

QUOTE (Real @ May 3, 2011 -> 10:41 PM) gotta love it twins fans forever will be able to say to us "hey b****es, remember when we no-hit you in your own park? LOL" f*** this team, not paying a dime to see a game this year Sort of like how Packers fans can say the same thing to Bears fans after that turd of an NFC championship game. Yay Chicago sports! This team is just awful to watch.

It was a head shot. I hope the guy who got it yelled BOOM HEADSHOT Make Doug proud.

I used to always call him LOLlibridge. If he keeps playing the way he's playing, I'll have to retire that one.

I think it's pretty hilarious after reading some SD forum that people over there were wishing that they were getting Poreda, Danks, Flowers and Beckham. HAHAHAHAHA. Ahem. Yea keep dreaming SD. Why don't we just throw in the rest of B'ham to you guys to sweeten the deal?

Richar had it before he was traded to the Reds. Don't think anyone else used it since. -

QUOTE (joeynach @ Nov 15, 2008 -> 03:26 PM) That looks good but doesnt add up to what we have seen in the past. I heard from my friend who works for the sox that the restaurant/bar stuff we have seen has not yet been approved for construction nor finalized in any way. In fact when I showed him what I found he was like where did you find that. Seems like what we see above is step 1 of the improvement process. The restaurants/bars area is most likely then for the 2010 season since we know its still in prelimnary design phase. That being said the new ramp structure outside Gate 5 looks like an important step in creating this new area, it clears the space for the construction and allows ppl to enter and exit through 1 point, the way u would want it if you were going to get them into new shops and bars etc. I have a feeling they are a little farther along in the restaurant / bar phase then they are leading on. It was almost two years ago that a teacher of mine was doing some renderings of a design for the new restaurant they were planning on adding. He didn't say a whole lot about it, other than he was excited to be working on the project, and that it was just getting underway. I'd imagine if they were planning this out two years ago with early interior renderings, then plans would almost certainly have to be done by now. I doubt it will be done by opening day, but I think that's the Sox dropping the ball here on the bids, not because it's not planned out yet.
