  1. This used to be a site where intelligent fans hungout and discussed White Sox baseball. This thread is a dumpster fire.
  2. I have Collins at #6 in the system. He has a 140 wRC+ in AA and I love his offensive profile. Even if he's a part-time catcher, 1B, DH his offensive skill-set still makes him a prospect. I really like Dunning as well but his injury has left me with some uncertainty obviously.
  3. There will be lots of Bryce Bush info coming this week. I interviewed him this week along with NIck Hostetler, the signing scout and two of his high school coaches
  4. He could be a high leverage type. I personally just don't think he's top 30 in a top 3 system in the sport. I ranked back end starters over him because they are more valuable. I generally don't rank relievers very high. Burdi/Hamilton/Johnson are a different animal IMO
  5. I have tons of info. I'm pairing it down and waiting on a few more details. Should be early next week.
  6. My rule is that relievers either need an outside chance at starting or they need to be high-leverage types. I included Burdi, Hamilton and Johnson in my top 30.
  7. I think it's a stretch that Sox even go like 20-32 but lets say that happens. They'd be 60-102. That gets you the 3rd pick IMO.
  8. Lets say they win today's game. They'd be 40-70. 52 games remaining. 26-26 would put them at 66-96. I think 66-96 gets them the #3 pick pretty easily. I also don't think this team with Kopech and Eloy on it can finish .500. They are really bad. I'm pretty confident that they'll pick 3rd.
  9. The Braves are loaded but I actually wouldn't the trade the Sox system for theirs currently. I might if I got to keep Albies and Acuna but they are so pitching heavy right now. I'd much rather have the Sox position player core.
  10. I don't see any way that they move the meter this much. I think the Sox are pretty locked in at #3 overall
  11. The Sox can't be a mid-level organization anymore. They don't receive the same perks in the draft, internationally and in free agency that mid-level organizations are afforded. The White Sox need to become the big market behemoth that major league baseball classifies them as.
  12. It tells me that they are anticipating him playing in Kannapolis next year. Good move if so.
  13. I wrote this about the White Sox signing class: http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2018/07/international-signing-day-2018-white-sox-sign-5-players/ They did fine. I'd much rather have close to major league ready potential impact LH reliever than 5 LAtAM kids for $300K. This trade was fine. They still have another $2 million to deal as well. I'll start complaining next year when they have $$ to spend and they aren't landing impact talent. They've done a decent job of late with multiple prospects stateside and making an impact.
  14. Brad Bach is bad and a free agent after the season. You should feel fine about the White Sox trade
  15. I'm not buying this yet, guys. Seems like a leak to me. Victor Victor hasn't been cleared yet and hasn't even held a showcase. It could end up being Baltimore but it doesn't make a ton of sense right now.
  16. I posted some things on twitter about this. Whenever Bob does this, it's usually an indication that the White Sox are using him to negotiate through the media. They really don't have a ton of leverage right now though due to Abreu being bad.
  17. Oakland took on the remaining $3 million on Familia's deal. The Mets seemingly made a Reinsdorfian deal in the sense that they prioritized financial savings.
  18. Richard Justice said Astros were interested in Abreu on mlbnetwork this morning. Maybe he was lying though.
  19. He was a $300K signing from recent international period out of Cuba. Never played DSL. Went straight to AZL this year but he was an older signing. He's 21 I believe
  20. More BREAKING NEWS: Son of former MLB player Miguel Tejada, tested positive for steroid Stanozolol. Player was about to sign a with Chicago White Sox, but the team decided not to sign Tejada JR due to positive test. 21. Well according to the Baseball America BA500 it looks like this: #3 Nick Madrigal SS #32 Steele Walker OF #60 Konnor Pilkington LHP #116 Isaiah Carranza RHP #119 Davis Martin RHP (Currently Unsigned) #125 Jonathan Stiever RHP #175 Jason Bilous RHP #233 Andrew Perez LHP #243 Tyrus Greene C #298 Codi Heuer RHP #367 Lency Delgado SS #393 Cabera Weaver OF #402 Bryce Bush 3B
  22. Something to keep in mind is that Mississippi State has switched coaching staffs. Could have something to do with the decision to sign.
  23. 5% of the pool. The White Sox are $199,000 over right now. They can spend like $330K more to stay right at 5%. Could theoretically give Bush $450K (includes the $125K pick value). This doesn't account for Davis Martin though.
