Most people just want to see him play and that likely includes the other guys on the team. Mike Glennon is a sunk cost at this point and really is irrelevant to the entire conversation.

.390 BABIP is not sustainable. .320 or so could be for him and that should still lead to some decent years. Does he have enough in game power for a corner OF spot? I'm very curious to see what the Sox do here. They need to decide whether to extend him or trade him. If I were betting, I'd guess that they deal him this offseason and try to sell high.

My gosh that is OLDDDDDDD. He has good advanced stats this year, horrible traditional stats of 49 RBI. Now according to the new wave baseball age police he's way too old to get a good deal now. Fans happy with 8 mill a year the next 3 years? But will the Mets or Yankees or somebody give him a 6-year deal at 18-20 mill a year?? What say you? I want to be educated on how age factors in what fans think nowadays. Don't forget, Cespedes got a 4 year deal at about 26 mill a year last offseason. He's been hurt. Had a horrible year by traditional stats, good WAR. I actually agree with Greg here. If you can extend him for like 4/$70 million I think you do it.

I have an article coming for FutureSox on this tomorrow. I would be stunned if the White Sox were even in the running for this. THey can pay him $300K. They can offer him a rotation spot and let him DH on off days. Other teams can do the same though. Teams like the Pirates and Rockies can offer him $10 million. Yanks, Boston, Texas can offer somewhere in the $3-$4 million range and still allow him to pitch and hit. The Cubs, Dodgers, Astros and Padres can offer $300K. That's it though. One team that makes a lot of sense for me: Los Angeles Angels. They can pay him close to $9 million and he'd still be on the West Coast. This process will be fascinating.

I think the White Sox finish 7-12 over their last 19 games. That puts them at 64-98. That should lock up the 3rd pick in the draft.

Jose Abreu has been awesome this year. He's hitting .302/.353/.556. His .255 ISO is highest it's been since his first season. OPS+ of 140, wOBA of .378, wRC+ of 138. He's accumulated 3.5 fWAR and 3.9 bWAR. He's a bad defender. He's having a really good season though. He's been the 6th best 1B in baseball this season. The only guy that's been better in the AL is Eric Hosmer. Hosmer is putting up a .328/.393/.517 with a .387 wOBA and 141 wRC+. He's sporting an abnormally high .365 BABIP still though and his ISO is 60 points lower than Jose's.

Be nervous if you want. He's going to take a bit because he's so raw still. He does have a 116 wRC+ vs RHP. I would consider just having him hit left-handed permanently however.
