  1. QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 02:13 PM) I think his reporting is shady at best and his followers are bullies. Kind of reminds me of incarceratedbob. He didn't "report" it. He saw it from NY Times. Aaron Leming is a friend of mine and isn't shady at all. He has had to deal with s***heads quite frequently because he has a very good Bears source and people can't understand that.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 01:24 PM) Probably the same thing as all the tweets. He pretty much sticks to the script. Yep. I made a thread for it.
  3. Summary: Hahn is excited about Winter Meetings but has until Spring Training to shape the club. No artificial timelines even though he'd love to fill some of his needs immediately. Likes keeping everything close to the vest because of past experiences. i.e. Leaks of deals, talk affecting trade negotiations. Rogers asked about how often teams use the media: Hahn says it's less than you think (bulls***) because all 30 teams regularly speak with each other. He wants to find a way to improve the offense. Hahn said they "won't rest on betting on internal improvement" but guys could absolutely bounce back. They asked about bringing in 2 new catchers: Said He, KW, Robin, Coop etc discussed all of this. He says he'd be more worried if it were 2 rookie catchers rather than 2 vets. Said both guys are good game-callers that have caught Cy Young winners in the past and know the AL. He said the quote about how there are no untouchables on the roster. "JR has only had one untouchable ever and he wore #23." Hahn then joked that it wasn't Robin. With that being said, they always receive tons of interest in their pitching. Knows how valuable guys like Sale, Q, and Rodon are. Wouldn't be doing their jobs if they didn't listen but they'd need to be overwhelmed. Erik Johnson and Jacob Turner will both be battling for rotation spots in spring training
  4. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 12:14 PM) If anyone can provide of summary what Hahn says, it would be greatly appreciated. I will not be able to listen to it at that time. I'll do it. I have a plan period at school 7th hour. Nice.
  5. That article doesn't even say that the White Sox are interested. Just that they have been in the past. It's all speculative.
  6. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 12:43 PM) Were Dunn's 75 HRs from 2012-2013 not enough? I was probably Dunn's biggest fan on this board. He underachieved though as a whole.
  7. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 12:39 PM) Nova is not an improvement in this rotation.... Decent bounce back candidate if he's healthy though. Could have a nice year and earn a QO at the end of the season. Especially with next year's free agent pitching class.
  8. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 12:33 PM) When I think of Quintana and the Cubs I envision a trade involving Baez and Castro, with their side eating some of his remaining contract. Schwarber and Gleyber Torres minimum or I hang up the phone.

    2015 TV Thread

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 07:40 AM) Whoever just gave that s*** its own thread, thank you very much. It's usually f***ing zombie nonsense in here. Good lord.
  10. Rick Hahn said today that Jacob Turner will come to Spring Training to compete for a spot in the White Sox rotation.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 11:12 AM) He will opt out because he can double his annual contract by doing so. For sure. I don't think he'd stay here though and I don't want the Bulls to try either. That's why they should move him.
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 10:49 AM) Gasol has a no trade clause. Would he go to Dallas? Pachulia, Justin Anderson, and a 1st rounder. There I just traded Pau.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 10:49 AM) Gasol has a no trade clause. He'd probably waive it for a title contender though, no?
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 2, 2015 -> 04:11 PM) I'm not blaming Obama, but it sure seems to me we've had sooooooo many of these mass shootings during his 8 years. Gunmen kill many today in California in a building that helps the disabled??? Pretty soon we're going to be in a militaristic state everywhere we go. Nobody's gonna be allowed in any building, any sports arena, cause frankly at any time somebody might come in and blast away. It's just plain sickening. It's Obama's watch. Not saying it's his fault but wow, all the murders, all the destruction. Just think how many people are plotting mass murders as I write this. It has to be thousands of plots being planned right now, which is very very scary. Peace on earth good will toward men. What would you like him to do about it though? You're implying that it's his fault. This is one of the problems. Republicans want to blame Democrats. Democrats want to blame Republicans. And we are sheep that keep doing this while the people that are really running this country continue to do whatever benefits them.
  15. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 10:34 AM) When did Gasol say this? Last I heard he said he hasn't even though about his contract and he doesn't intend to think about it until the offseason. That was per KC Johnson like a day ago. He told Vincent Goodwill yesterday that he will opt-out.
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 09:10 AM) havent we seen enough of the Dunn/Laroche mold? Not if the guy actually hits for power like they are supposed to. I like High K/High BB players that hit a s***load of homers. The problem is LaRoche doesn't do that and Dunn didn't hit enough homers to justify it. I'd absolutely rather have Alvarez or Carter than LaRoche because I'm fairly confident that the latter 2 will actually hit the ball out of the ballpark.
  17. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 10:28 AM) @Joelsherman1 Hear Pelfrey is 2 yrs at $16M with #Tigers pending physical Verlander, Zimmermann, Sanchez, Pelfrey, Norris. Bring it. Yep. Not quite as frightening as Price/Scherzer/Verlander/Sanchez.
  18. Derrick Rose sucks now. The Bulls aren't winning a title. They'll never do this but they should take a step back this year. Gasol has stated that he is opting out after the the season (as he should). In my opinion, the Bulls should deal him. They should trade Noah as well. I know that leaves them pretty thin but it doesn't really matter and I'd rather obtain assets now than get nothing in the offseason. This would be the best course of action for now and the future of the franchise which is why they'll never ever do it.
  19. QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 09:55 AM) imo, the dodger will start with rodon then move on to Q is they are expecting to eat laroche contract and get ethier. No chance. Q would cost Joc Pederson +. I think Rodon would actually cost more than Q. No chance the Dodgers would ask for that in return.
  20. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 09:25 AM) Now this is a very intriguing bat. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/12/hyun...offers-kbo.html Stats http://www.baseball-reference.com/register...id=kim---004hye Has some pop and with high OBP potential. Hope the Sox are looking into this player. Mods: could you please correct my spell checker? The first name should read Hyeon-soo. Grrr. Where would the White Sox play him?
  21. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 09:03 AM) If* he passes it... recently more players have been failing them. Still rare, but a possibility. He'll pass.
  22. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 08:14 AM) I don't understand what the economics of this deal haven't been announced. The Sox haven't announced the deal yet and probably won't until he passes a physical.
  23. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 08:39 AM) I think the Dodgers can find a better deal for Ethier than trading for LaRoche only to release him. Ethier's value has rebounded and could go up more depending on how much the big FA outfielders contracts look after they've signed. Danks could be a somewhat realistic option but very doubtful since the Dodgers need a legit front line starter and have McCarthy coming back. Danks would certainly fit into that ball park very well though. Yeah you are probably right. Ethier doesn't really make sense on the Sox though with LaRoche also on the team. That's why I put it the way I did.
  24. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 07:54 AM) I agree about going after McMahon but with first base open for the Rockies they can put McMahon there when he's ready. That said, myself and a few others have been talking since mid summer about trying to trade Montas for McMahon since they are rated so closely together in the top 100 with Montas as #54 and McMahon at #50. In theory its a fit but if the Rockies are high on McMahon then the Sox might be SOL. Arenado will be on another team by the time McMahon is ready. McMahon was in A+ last year.
  25. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 07:57 AM) I wouldn't mind Ethier but I can't see why the Dodgers would take LaRoche just to sit him on the bench. Well Rosenthal tweeted this morning that they'd like to move one of Ethier or Crawford. The only way it works for White Sox is without LaRoche. They could take LaRoche back and release him. They've done it before. Multiple times.
