Byung-ho Park bidding rights won by Twins, $12.85 m

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 07:02 PM) Wouldn't be surprised if its the Pirates due to their need at first base. They have Josh Bell knocking on the door though. I bet it's Colorado. -
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 06:37 PM) This David Freese talk has me throwing up. I don't see him as the answer at 3B at all. It's 3B. There is no answer. He doesn't cost a draft pick. That was my main concern.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 04:45 PM) I think Dierkes has been drinking Cameron's booze. Have a look. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/11/2015...redictions.html If Freese can be had for 10M per year then I say go for it. But Kendrick, Freese and Cabrera in one off season? I doubt that very much. I'd be fin with 3/30 for Freese. I want no part of Cabrera or Kendrick though. I'd rather sign Avila for cheaper and bring back Alexei.

White Sox make qualifying offer to Jeff Samardzija.

Levine has already reported that Samardzija will decline. -
No QO for David Freese. 2 WAR 3B. Not sure what the cost will be.

QUOTE (shysocks @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 12:04 PM) He had us getting OF Chris Young last year too, which would also have been a good move. Wonder if he has a source in the front office who likes Young. Young was originally a White Sox prospect. He was traded for Javier Vazquez. -

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Nov 6, 2015 -> 10:30 AM) http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/2016-top-50...nt-predictions/ Cameron has the White Sox bringing back Alexei Ramirez on a 1 year deal for $6 million. He also has them signing Howie Kendrick, Chris Young (OF), Alex Avila, and Mat Latos. Here's the same thing basically from Baseball Prospectus: http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article....articleid=27844 The writer does his predictions and has a random computer generator as well. The computer has the White Sox signing Justin Upton, Chris Davis, and Howie Kendrick. Okay then. -

QUOTE (BrianAnderson @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 01:47 PM) Do you think they'll give Beckham a Qualifying Offer? Absolutely not. Why would they do that?
-
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 12:20 PM) Oh that only applies to player options? Then this whole discussion is moot anyway. I really just got bored at work (first full time finance job stuck at a desk all day) and it crossed my mind. Back on topic: Alexei will re-sign with the Sox. Yeah. I think Royals can give QO to Gordon after he declines player option. Team cannot decline team option and then offer QO.
-
QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 12:15 PM) If he rejected a QO he would have trouble finding work in 2016 because no team would give up a draft pick to sign him. They can't decline his option and then offer him a QO anyway. Doesn't work that way.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 5, 2015 -> 09:23 AM) Nope. If Kershaw pitched in the AL, there's no way he'd have multiple seasons with an ERA under 2. He'd still be better than Quintana, though. Kershaw is the best pitcher in baseball. It's not really that close either.
-
Bill Simmons had an idea on twitter: Joakim Noah to the Celtics for Avery Bradley and Tyler Zeller. I'd make that deal.
-
QUOTE (Dunt @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 12:00 PM) How realistic do you think this trade would be? Quintana for Devon Travis, Dalton Pompey/Anthony Alford, and Max Pentecost I don't think that's enough for Quintana.
-
Does anyone have Kenny Williams' quotes from today? He basically said offseason plan isn't in place yet but it's up to Hahn. So now Kenny isn't running everything? I guess Rick finally graduated.
-
I think they would have traded him if he weren't coming back in 2016.
-
They aren't moving on though. He'll be back for less $$. He wants to be in Chicago.
-
I'm not really surprised. My dad is a Will County cop and most people there speculated it would end this way.

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 01:48 PM) Not sure HF will get by Loyola the previous week. That Bolinbgbrook loss raises a red flag. Although Loyola seems to like to choke big games. I've coached against HF for years. Scouted them multiple times this year. I'm taking them. I may be wrong but I can't pick against that team. Loyola is really, really good. They don't have that type of team speed though. HF is a monster. -
QUOTE (scs787 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 03:27 PM) I THINK its 13mill but I'm not positive. Fairly certain it's above 10 though. At this point I think it would be foolish to cut him and go after a QB in this meh class. This team is a lot closer to competing with Jay Cutler than with a rookie QB. Bonuses are already paid. If they cut him as designate as a June 1st Cut, he'd cost $5 million in 2016, and $5 million in 2017. No reason to release him though.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 10:25 AM) Hey greg, in their first playoff game, Brother Rice went up 49-0 in the second quarter! They called off the dogs then but that's really impressive vs decent competition I hope it's Brother Rice and Homewood Flossmoor in the semis. Would be such an awesome game of contrasting styles. -
QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 1, 2015 -> 08:50 PM) Hard to believe TheoHoyer would part with a first rounder for Alex Gordon Do the Royals get a 1st rounder if Gordon declines an option?
-
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 31, 2015 -> 09:47 PM) Money wins out 99% of the time. Yep. He'll sign with the team that offers the most. Especially since he'll already have a World Series ring.

According to Jon Heyman, the White Sox are one of the teams with interest in Alex Gordon. This is from his column: http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/writer/jon-he...don-market-more Gordon going? Royals outfielder Alex Gordon, who according to sources will not exercise his $14-million player option, is expected to have a huge free-agent market. The Cubs, White Sox, Orioles and Astros are among teams rumored to have interest, but there will be many more. However, the Royals are hoping to keep him, quite likely with an offer of about four years. Since he accepted a team-friendly four-year deal last time, there is reason to hope. And while he got only four while in his 20s, he can probably find five if he's open to leaving. Is Kansas City able to offer him a QO after he doesn't exercise his deal?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 30, 2015 -> 09:13 AM) He put up a .304 OBP in AAA last year. He was really good during his call up. Maybe he clicked with Steverson, but more than likely, if Trayce played everyday, his numbers would be worse than they were in AAA. I'd be willing to bet Adam LaRoche puts up a better OPS than Trayce next season, if Trayce was playing every day. In his defense, he didn't take as many walks as Charlotte because they wanted him to cut down on his strikeouts. If they want him making more contact than his .OBP is definitely going to be lower.
