  1. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Feb 4, 2015 -> 12:19 PM) ND 12th or 13th depending on whether you follow Rivals or ESPN. Not BK's best effort. Miles Boykin is an F'ing stud though.

Does anyone watch Masters of Sex? I am almost finished with season 2. Michael Sheen is excellent.
  3. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Feb 2, 2015 -> 04:00 PM) Their catching situation is an absolute joke without Montero. Right now, their opening day catcher is Tuffy Gosewisch. A 9-year minor leaguer with a .239 minor league average. They are a good candidate to end up with Welington Castillo. He will be playing somewhere next year.
  4. I know it already but I loved seeing Jim Callis downright giddy about Rodon. Thanks again to the Astros and Marlins for letting him fall.
  5. QUOTE (thegringokid @ Feb 1, 2015 -> 11:04 AM) I really hope by mid-year Montas and Danish really put it together and have made excellent progress. Montas has been scouted to have high end reliever upside but I hope he becomes a solid mid-rotation starter (3/4 type). Danish I am not too sure about but he may also have mid-rotation potential. I think Montas will be a front of the rotation type if he pans out as a starter. Keith Law basically said he could be a #1 starter, a back end bullpen piece, or never make it in general. Such a wide range of factors for Montas with secondary pitch issues, body type, and injury history.
  6. Today, Law released his 10 that just missed the cut. Here is what he said about Francelis Montas: http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/...pectsJustMissed Francelis Montas, RHP, Chicago White Sox When I saw him in the Arizona Fall League, I thought for sure he'd make the list, but the list of factors working against him was too long. He has an 80 fastball, hitting 102 mph in instructs, but his command and secondary stuff aren't average yet, and he's already had two knee surgeries, possibly related to his girth. He might be a No. 1 starter, but there's a greater chance that he ends up a reliever, with all kinds of possibilities in between.
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 30, 2015 -> 10:32 AM) Davidson 6th? Seems very high to me, for him at this point. I thought so too. He's always liked Davidson and still thinks that he can be a starting 3B or bench bat because of the power.
  8. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jan 30, 2015 -> 10:04 AM) And he likely thinks CJ Edwards is a TOR starter (haven't checked), while being held to 50 pitch counts as a 22 year old, meanwhile Tyler's throwing 90 pitches at 19y.o. with no issues. And still with the armslot thing - hope not too many of us are actually paying for Mr. Law's wisdom. And not super-informed on Hawkins, either. Keith Laws also is far from the only scout that thinks Danish is a reliever.
  9. Actually, Law think CJ Edwards is a bullpen guy because he's to small and frail to start.
  10. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jan 30, 2015 -> 10:05 AM) Rodon Anderson Adams Montas Johnson Davidson Michalczewski Danish Adolfo Hawkins Rondon Sanchez Beck Sanburn Thompson He said he can do it because he witnessed it with RISP. But he said when he isn't bearing down like that "he'll cut through fastballs up and chase breaking balls down until the sun swallows the earth." Law also mentioned that he sees Sanburn and Beck as setup guys and is interested in seeing Adam Lopez in a full season healthy. I can DM the full article if anyone wants it.
  11. In Law's chat today he had some Sox thoughts: He said that Micah, had he been healthy all year, probably would have cracked the top 100. He also likes Montas but mentioned enough concerns to leave him out of top 100. Also thinks that Danish is still a reliever. Organization top 10's are released tomorrow.
  12. http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/...0-prospects-mlb White Sox with only 3 top 100 guys according to Keith Law. 12. Carlos Rodon 67. Tim Anderson 94. Spencer Adams
  13. Where is 1-15....I'm waiting......haha
  14. Law's Top 100 should be released today. I'll predict 4 White Sox: Rodon in the teens, Anderson in the 30's, Montas in the 70's and Micah Johnson in the 90's.
  15. I want to know how many people that were in favor of Konerko coming back are angry that Beckham is back. Too lazy to go back and look.
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Jan 28, 2015 -> 01:36 PM) Not a good day for JB Shuck. Not necessarily. I still think they go with bench of: catcher, Bonifacio, Beckham, and an OF. One of Sanchez/Micah makes the roster and the other is in Charlotte.
  17. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 28, 2015 -> 01:31 PM) I was hoping that Bonifacio would handle all backup infielder duties. Well he's also the backup CF.
  18. As long as Beckham is the backup INF, I am fine with this move. He can start at 3B vs LHP in place of Gillaspie. Could also spell Micah at 2B if that is the direction in which the team goes. I just hope he doesn't end up starting at 2B instead of Micah/Sanchez.
  19. I think that Law will have Rodon, Montas, Anderson, and Micah in his top 100. He will also have 1 more guy either Danish/Adams that falls into that 100-120 range. He said earlier in offseason that he'd have 4 top 100 guys. I think he just meant that they added 4 top 120ish guys. Didn't say those were the only ones.
  20. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jan 28, 2015 -> 12:26 PM) Where was everyone else in the Central ranked? Tigers 30th or so? Tigers are 30th. Twins were 2nd. White Sox are #12. Kansas City and Cleveland are 15th and 16th respectively.
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 28, 2015 -> 09:02 AM) Lynch is willing to be likeable if there is money involved. Whatever. I know the press is a drag, but pro athletes need to realize they wouldn't be getting paid what they are getting paid if it weren't for media, etc. People want to know things. You want to act like a jerk, fine, but eventually that catches up to you. Dealing with the media, answering questions, is part of the job description. If you don't want to do that, go make $10 an hour somewhere and tell your new boss you don't want to talk to the clients. See how that goes over. If every player acted like him, I doubt many would be fine with it, and I am sure there would be several less zeros on the balance of their bank accounts. I disagree with part of this. I generally think that people don't want to know things. If you want to hear thoughts from Marshawn Lynch, well I have some s*** to sell you. Not only do I not want to hear from Marshawn Lynch, I don't want to hear anything from any of these guys. Play the damn game. I hate SB week.
  22. There are still some interesting names out there for the White Sox: Brandon Beachy, Burke Badenhop, Mike Adams, Alexi Ogando, Joe Beimel, and Everth Cabrera.
  23. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 27, 2015 -> 04:06 PM) Jones probably will go to strong side line backer and rush the passer. I actually think they will run a lot of "50" front stuff in year 1. It's basically just an under front with a stand-up SLB as another pass rusher. I think that guy is acquired with the #7 pick in the draft.
  24. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 27, 2015 -> 09:37 AM) Interested in who you guys think should be lower or higher. The best part of the FS list is seeing how this site falls in love with certain guys (Cleluis Rondon comes to mind) and becomes really bearish on others (i.e.Chris Beck) and then comparing the outliers to the big time publications. I think Andrew Mitchell is too low but I value ceiling more than most people. The list also indicates that 3 of Jace Fry, Jake Peter, Adam Lopez, and Onelki Garcia won't be on the list. I'd rather see any of them than a guy like Andy Wilkens who is a non-priospect in my eyes. Obviously just my opinion though. I think guys like Luis Martinez, Nolan Sanburn, Michael Ynoa, and Adam Engel could take giant steps forward this year and I'm really glad to see Trayce Thompson so far down the list. It means good things for the system. Great job, guys.
  25. I'll go ahead and predict the 1-15. 1. Carlos Rodon LHP 2. Tim Anderson SS 3. Francellis Montas RHP 4. Micah Johnson 2B 5. Spencer Adams RHP 6. Tyler Danish RHP 7. Courtney Hawkins OF 8. Trey Michalczewski 3B 9. Carlos Sanchez INF 10. Matt Davidson 3B 11. MIcker Adolfo OF 12. Chris Beck RHP 13. Jacob May OF 14. Clueulis Rondon SS 15. Jace Fry LHP
