  1. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 07:03 AM) I think the way things are run at Halas Hall, the way they like to beat things into the ground, Emery and Trest and Cutty will all be present in 2015 and feeding fans the same crap. I don't think Trestman survives. He really can't at this point.
  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 09:19 AM) Mario Williams is damn near unstoppable right now. It's amazing to think that the Texans, for 5 games, had both Mario Williams and JJ Watt. Frankly, I'm not sure there's a better 4-3 end in the game right now. The Bills really confused Rodgers in the secondary but it definitely wasn't all his fault. The Bills will be a scary team if they can get into the postseason, but that involves them beating both Oakland and New England, both on the road, and then getting some help too. Wite, what are they going to do at QB for next year? Take a run at a young veteran? RG3, Bradford?
  3. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 02:35 PM) Manziel might be worse than Tebow Kinda shows you the huge gap (no surprise) between the NFL and college football Makes my wonder why are a lot of people fans of crappy level football And this decision has been made after 1 NFL start. Okay then.
  4. I love U.S. Cellular Field and the easy ride in from the SW Burbs. Leave it alone.

    2014 TV thread

The Newsroom finale was great. Season wasn't but the end was really good in my opinion.
  6. Man the last few pages of this thread have been terrible. Go cry somewhere else. The White Sox upgraded in a big way. I'm going to choose to be excited about that.
  7. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 10:14 AM) I wouldn't be too concerned, Viciedo will be traded and its likely Shuck or Jordan Danks will be the fourth OF. Shuck doesn't play CF and Danks is LH. I think they go with a RH hitting backup OF
  8. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 01:22 PM) Yeah, we don't actually know that Kromer has confronted Jay this directly in private previously. If he hadn't, doing it anonymously through the media is pretty crappy. Cutler said during his press conference that this concerns weren't previously told to him privately.
  9. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 11:49 AM) Bulls couldn't fit him in the salary unless we trade both Taj and Mirotic. Who the f*** would do that Well one other way, Rose for Melo. It'd be shocking, but I wouldn't say I didn't see it coming. I'd trade Noah for him. Noah isn't very good right now, is always injured, and will want $15 million per year starting in 2016. I'd absolutely sacrifice Noah/Dunleavy/picks for Carmelo.
  10. Wouldn't it be awesome if Matt Davidson could be that 1B/3B to spell Gillaspie/LaRoche against LHP?
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 09:16 AM) So, #deathmarchformariota ? I'd love Mariota but it will cost a ton of picks. Even if the Bears finish 5-11, they will most likely be picking 7th overall. Love the idea though.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 12, 2014 -> 08:20 AM) So Kromer called out Cutler for refusing to check out of bad run plays? So he thinks they should have been running the ball even less? He didn't call out Cutler though. He said it to Ian Rapaport anonymously and then admitted that he did it while crying in front of the team. If he called out Cutler it would have been fine. He went to the media about an in-house issue. He should have had his keys taken.
  13. This is an interesting piece from Dave Cameron: http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/just-a-bit-ou...diocrity-121014
  14. How was Kromer not fired on Monday when this happened? He can't be in the building still. God this is such a horrible franchise right now. I really don't think this coaching staff survives.
  15. Anyone have any interest in Marlon Byrd? Can Michael Morse play LF? Really reaching here guys.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 11:41 AM) Definitely one more, maybe two. I'm guessing that this means dump Viciedo for last RHP bullpen piece, acquire or sign LF for sure, continue to try to upgrade at C.
  17. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 02:15 PM) I actually liked Robinson Leyer- thought he had potential. I think it was Euclides Leyer that got taken.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 01:33 PM) And you know that how? Dee Gordon made major strides forward last year and while he struggled the year previously when coming up through the Dodgers system he was widely regarded as a top 100 prospect. He was a much different player a year ago and when you combine his speed and value on the paths, he brings a very unique skill-set. Like I said, I would trade Dee Gordon for Howie Kendrick when you consider contracts, etc. Kendrick is a better player but Gordon is on a superior contract. Dee Gordon doesn't get on base though. .324 .OBP last year.
  19. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 11:11 AM) So, the bullpen looks a lot better. RHP Guerra Petricka Webb Putnam Cleto? LHP Duke Surkamp Jennings Closer - Robertson Missing anyone? Yeah I think LHP Onelki Garcia has a real chance as well.
  20. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 10:49 AM) Greene and Simon. Porcello to Red Sox. That's what I meant. My bad.
  21. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 10:30 AM) Given the Tigers defense, Cespedes move is nice for them. Porcello is a nice get for the Red Sox though and I presume they will try to sign him to an extension. I wanted Cespedes on the southside but would not have been able to justify this type of price. Are the Tigers really going with Greene and Porcello as their 4th/5th starters and an OF of Gose, Martinez, and Cespedes? Suddenly the Tigers don't seem as formidable.
  22. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 09:30 AM) Chris Cotillo ‏@ChrisCotillo 47s47 seconds ago So #Marlins getting SP in trade, #Tigers getting a #Reds starter in trade per reports from @jonmorosi and @JoeFrisaro. I really hope it's Danks to the Marlins. They had "reported" interest last year. It's supposedly a RH starter.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 08:01 AM) One other remarkable thing about our lineup is that we actually do have use for a platoon righty right now. As it stands now, our lineup pencils in 4 lefties if you count Micah: Johnson, Eaton, Gillaspie, LaRoche. If Sanchez takes the 2b spot to start the year, that still holds since he switch hits. I don't know how Micah's platoon splits will look in the big leagues, but I do know that two of those bats are garbage against lefties - LaRoche and Gillaspie. They're bad enough that Viciedo, as terrible as he is, would be an offensive upgrade from LaRoche at the DH spot. Before trading Semien this didn't look like that big of an issue to me because Marcus's bat could have slotted in nicely against any LHP as both a starter and a pinch hitter, but instead now we're looking at a bench maybe holding Sanchez, Saladino/Leury, Danks2, and a LH hitting catcher. Maybe Sanchez hits well enough to take some ABs from Gillaspie but its hard to see him taking ABs away from LaRoche, and plus Micah might benefit from some time on the bench against lefties as well. Suddenly we've gone from a place where our lineup needed lefties to a place where our bench is fairly lefty-strong but what we're missing is a solid RH hitting bat somewhere. I brought this up in another thread. Is Rickie Weeks horrible defensively and could he play 3B? He had a. .865 OPS vs LHP last season (Only 155 PA) and still has a ton of power.
  24. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 08:56 AM) Looks like Cespedes to Detroit for Porcello. That's a great trade for Boston if so. How many years of control does Porcello have left?
  25. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 05:36 PM) Guys on top of my wish list right now in order. Jay Bruce Emilio Bonifacio Colby Rasmus (if miss on Bruce) Brandon Morrow Obviously the next major move will be a LF. I think the Sox still need more bullpen help, possibly another starter, a platoon bat for Gillaspie that could play the corners, and some bench help. Is Rickie Weeks really bad defensively? Has he ever played 3B before? He hit LHP to a tune of an .865 OPS last year in 155 PA. If he could spell Gillaspie against LHP, that would be a great addition. Donnie Murphy is a guy that is available but doesn't really hit at all. Does anyone have any ideas for this potential role? Some other guys that would be interesting bench options are Chris Denorfia or Emilio Bonifacio. Sergio Santos and Craig Breslow have been mentioned for the bullpen. What about guys like Jeanmar Gomez, Tom Gorzelanny, and Wesley Wright as possible cheap additions?
