  1. The Sox loved Roman Anthony in the draft and Craig Breslow didn’t draft him
  2. AA has balls. He’s very similar to Theo Epstein, Mike Rizzo and Dave Dombrowski. These other GMs aren’t power players like that. It might be Braves ultimately because AA is actually willing to make the deal
  3. Astros might have the worst system in baseball
  4. Dude...I don't think he knows. Nobody knows right now who the leader is for Cease or what Baltimore is willing to do. I think everyone needs to relax and find something to do haha. The White Sox offices aren't even until next week. I'm sure Chris Getz is texting, chatting with GM's etc but he's letting the pitching market settle. I don't think anything is imminent in regards to Cease.
  5. The Orioles did something that Sox fans would've hated in the draft. They always significantly underslot early (Kjerstad, Cowser) to add talent throughout. It is tougher to do as a "large market" club because the Sox wouldn't have the extra money to play with from the free compensatory pick that Baltimore has been receiving for some reason. It's a pretty significant advantage if you also take the right players.
  6. Asking for Holliday was a complete and total waste of time. I’d like to think they weren’t even wasting everyone’s time with that ask.
  7. I saw that reported as well. Absolutely absurd ask if it was ever indeed mentioned. I doubt that was ever realistic. It could be. I don’t think it’s worth the risk though.
  8. Getz likely knows what he needs minimum to make a trade and hasn’t circled back yet. This is worrisome but I still think he gets moved. Value will never be higher. Agreed but I’m not sure Baltimore has offered this. Sox wanted Cowser/Ortiz/Beavers at the deadline and Baltimore balked. I hope they enjoyed Jack Flaherty
  9. I think it’ll be a 4 player package with anyone
  10. The Orioles won’t include Mayo or Basallo in a Cease trade. They have to headline with one of Cowser/Kjerstad though with Norby/Ortiz as a 2nd piece. Then the rest could be a pitcher (Povich) and maybe like Max Wagner. If Orioles aren’t willing to do that, they likely aren’t getting Cease. If Sox realistically want more than that, I doubt anyone acquires him.
  11. I’d love for someone who covers the White Sox for a living to figure out who it is
  12. I think he moves because taking him into the season isn’t worth the risk. That’s my assumption. I think Sox want both.
  13. They’re trying to develop young pitching with veteran leaders and game callers. No idea. I’d be pretty surprised unless Hurston Waldrep is involved and he hasn’t been on the table to this point.
  14. It’s basically $5 million total for two veteran catchers. It’s fine
  15. I don’t mind going all defense, game calling at catcher. It’s going to be a very young starting staff
  16. I don’t think that’s true. They know what they’ll ultimately take in return. Lowder +Arroyo would be a fun and realistic return.
  17. If the Orioles were offering Kjerstad and Westburg, I think the deal would be done
  18. If nobody does, they’ll hold him until the deadline it seems
  19. They wanted Jorge too but he’s an obvious 4th piece to me Not sure what to believe. I’m sure Baltimore is their ideal trade candidate but they haven’t heard the names they want to pull the trigger. Same with Atlanta.
  20. The White Sox asked for Rhett Lowder, Chase Petty and Sammy Stafura. If the Reds think that’s ridiculous, I’d tell them to enjoy finding a Cease level guy in free agency.
  21. White Sox offices are closed until the new year. It’s not impossible but I wouldn’t expect much activity over next week
  22. This isn’t true at all. I’d bet the majority of the return reaches the majors in 2024
  23. It’s never going to happen in a sport without a salary cap where small market owners are content just making money
