To my knowledge, he was throwing upper 90s post TJS while first in the minors and has been losing velocity each and every year. I don’t think that is that normal.

How does one effectively lose 6 to 8 MPH on their fastball in a handful of years with no known injury?

He’s a guy who should really benefit from the pros both from the juiced balls and better umps. I’ve seen him be the victim of multiple bad calls in the few games I’ve watched him.

Almost seems like there some prospect fatigue with Mize. A month ago the reports were all glowing and he was the clear cut #1 draft pick. And while most publications still think he’ll go #1, there has been far more skepticism of him lately. He’s the no-brainer #1 prospect IMO and we’d be insane to pass on him if he somehow made it to #4.

Lol...so very true. It’s like if we let Greg write articles for FutureSox about how dumb prospects are and how the key to the draft is to always draft that year’s Mike Trout.

I’ll keep saying it, but they really need to send him down. Whatever he’s doing right now is not working. His stuff has evaporated and the control is beyond garbage. See if working with McCatty in a low pressure environment does the trick. Feeding him to the wolves at the major league level isn’t doing him any good IMO.

We’re still rebuilding, why in the world would you block a young player from an opportunity? Are you ready to give up Giolito completely? Do you not want to give Stephens a shot? What does adding a veteran starter accomplish in a year we’re not trying to compete.

I think we see a set of moves when Robert comes back that includes Eloy moving up to AAA. Then we should see some more moves once the draft picks start signing. -
Yeah, Narvaez is really bad. I'm actually hoping they give Smith more of the playing time going forward.
