Kind of curious what the plan is for Bonemer. Kid has a 149 wRC+ in just shy of 200 PAs at AA. Obviously we should not call him up to the majors this year, but how much more time does he need in AA? Do they consider giving him a taste of AAA before year end? And do they consider part of the early season major league mix next year? He’s starting to force the issue on that last point, which could require us to make some trades to open up a starting for him.

To be clear, Private Equity sucks but is also a fall out from capitalism. If Justin Ishbia wasn’t in Private Equity, someone else would take his place. That is a macro issue much bigger than one man and we as White Sox fans should not feel bad about him being our owner as long as we reap the rewards from it.

Because you care more about the next White Sox owner being a hero for you than simply wanting the richest, smartest, and least risk adverse person possible. If the dude is willing to spend at the highest of levels and not be a dinosaur who forces his old school ways into impact our core processes, then yes I will anoint said owner the savior of my favorite sports team. Going from Jerry to that would be an absolute miracle. But please enjoy waiting out for that billionaire with a heart of gold to buy the team!

They really bungled the McDougal situation. Also, not getting a second SP at the deadline could prove costly. I know people here like Fedde, but he’s not a serious rotation option. Really need one of Urqudiy, Shane Smith, or Thorpe to step here in the coming weeks.

What’s wild is we were like 4th in wRC+ against LHP earlier this season and then got rid of Hill, Pereira, & Hays (who admittedly hadn’t contributed much to that early season performance). One of those guys instead of Acuna would help quite a bit, but would obviously take away a late game pinch running weapon.

God Martin fucking sucks. Thought it might be a fatigue thing, but now he just seems legit bad. Hard to believe after his first two months that he would suddenly become the worst SP in baseball.

Castillo apparently said he was coming off a shoulder injury when he was first traded to the Mariners and the changeup wasn’t quite right at the time. The Mariners then had him focus on the slider being he his key secondary as the org prioritizes that pitch and he never really went back to his previous changeup usage. Given this info, there is a reason to believe the nasty changeup is still there and can be ramped up as we saw last night. If so, this could be a far more impactful trade than many of us were thinking (including myself). I still like on paper we lost from a value standpoint, but if the dude produces like a #2 or #3 SP down the stretch and into next year then none of that matters and this will be a win for us.
