  1. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 4, 2017 -> 11:24 PM) Only 2 more seasons of team control for Profar. This is why you pass on Profar. And we're overflowing with fringe OF prospects who age-wise could be part of the future core, no reason waste playing time on the 29 year old Brown.
  2. 2020 Lineup 1. Robert, CF 2. Moncada#, 2B 3. Jimenez, RF 4. Arenado, 3B (FA) 5. Abreu, DH 6. Collins*, C 7. Burger, 1B 8. Rutherford*, LF 9. Anderson, SS IF: Escobar# (FA) OF: Gonzalez* UT: Delmonico* BC: Flowers (FA) SP: Kopech SP: Rodon* SP: Lopez SP: Giolito SP: Hansen CL: Burdi SU: Wilson* (FA) SU: Cease MR: Fulmer MR: Bummer* MR: Stephens LR: Dunning
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 4, 2017 -> 05:11 PM) James Fegan posted a lot of good vids for WSalem yesterday. Also made mention Collins said he was trying to fix the hitch but ditched it during season and will make adjustments in offseason. Honestly, I thought he'd address the hitch this offseason, so glad to hear that's actually the case. I still have high hopes for Collins now that it seems like he just might sick at catcher.

  5. I'm watching, hopefully Nicky D jacks one here.
  6. QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Aug 1, 2017 -> 03:58 PM) Kopech, Hansen and Dunning are all in the top 12 of all minor league pitchers in strikeouts this season. IMO, by year-end Kopech should be the #1 pitching prospect in the game with Hansen around 50th overall & Dunning in the 75 to 100 range. Nothing wrong with dominating high A ball in your first full professional season.
  7. I enjoy these walk-off wins, but we aren't going to get that #1 pick if Matt Davidson has any say.
  8. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 09:49 PM) Works for me. Who do you think goes to WS if/when Jimenez goes to Birmingham? I'm leaning towards Adolfo. I would hope Call. He started the season at Winston-Salem and that's where he should finish. Plus Adolfo's K rate is still above 30% and I don't think promoting him will help in that area. What's really going to be interesting is how they address the OF logjam next year. Call, Fisher, Basabe, Rutherford, Adolfo, & arguably Robert & Gonzalez should all start next year in high A. They'll probably ease Robert into full-season ball by sending him to Kannapolis, but that still leaves six potential OFs for W-S and that doesn't even include interesting but fringier guys in Booker & Schnurbusch. They'll probably have to push Fisher and either Call (more likely) or Basabe (less likely) to AA to create enough playing time for everyone. Good problem to have I guess.
  9. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 05:09 PM) I mean, I guess we haven't seen much of Tilson (2 PAs!), but his game has never excited me much. He doesn't excite me either, but if somehow he & Engel are your best two options for LF & CF, then it should hands down be Engel in CF & Tilson in LF.
  10. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 03:43 PM) Sox trade Sanchez, Leury, Saladino and Avi over the offseason. C Navarez 1B Abreu 2B Moncada SS Anderson 3B Davidson RF Wily Garcia CF Tilson LF Engel DH Delmonico/FA UT - Cordrell UT - Hanson C - Smith BE - Ashe SP Rodon SP FA - one year deal SP Shields SP Lopez SP Holmberg/Giolito CP - Fulmer SU - Jones RP - Bummer RP - Petricka RP - Beck RP - FA LHRP SW - Danish/Holmberg Why would you ever start Tilson in CF over Engel? I don't get the Tilson love to begin with, but Engel is an awesome defensive CF and Tilson isn't.
  11. I thought you could only send one player below AA. Is that still true? Also, are there any restrictions preventing a player participating multiple times? I know Jimenez, Collins, & Kopech all attended last year, so not sure if they're eligible again or not.
  12. What was the point of Jorah getting gray-scale if he simply runs right back to Dany? There's got to be some reason to send him to Oldtown and/or meet Sam. Also pretty crazy that Dorne & the Tyrells are completely out of the picture now. Seemed kind of rushed to me TBH. If the end game is really Starks + Targs vs. Lannisters before the ultimate war against the White Walkers, then I hope GRRM finds a more interesting way to get there. There's way more going on in the books right now and getting to this ultimate showdown between the main families can't be as simple as the show made it.
  13. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 08:25 AM) Definitely Gonzo. I'll say Holland as a PTBNL or cash considerations type (maybe even after the deadline on the waiver wire). I think Clippard stays the rest of the year. I think someone takes Holland and tries him as a LOOGY. Clippard you might as well pitch through August and hope some team has an injury and maybe Clippard has shown something by then. Long-shot I know, but otherwise he can just be another body in the pen and obviously we need some of those.
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 08:12 AM) Should Pelfrey be included? He has been solid this season but probably worthless since he hasn't been in the pen all season and that is probably where he would provide any sort of worth I don't think he'd have much value if any to a contending club for the reasons you mentioned, but he could be an important piece for us down the stretch to soak up innings. If we somehow trade both Gonzalez & Holland, we're going to need some bodies who can multiple innings even if we call Lopez & possibly Giolito and Pelfrey makes sense as one of those guys.
  15. Davidson's numbers outside of HRs are ugly, but those HRs will be enough to give him another opportunity in 2018 to improve. I'm not optimistic he'll correct his swing & miss issues or learn to draw more walks, but there is nothing to lose by giving him the 3B job next year. But lol at him deserving to be ROY because of 30 dingers. Greg ignoring every other metric and basically saying Davidson (21 HRs, .770 OPS, 98 wRC+, 0.0 WAR) deserves similar praise to the projected ROY winners in Judge (33 HRs, 1.065 OPS, 176 wRC+, 5.8 WAR) & Bellinger (28 HRs, .948 OPS, 141 wRC+, 2.8 WAR) is some of the most pathetic trolling I have ever seen on this board.
  16. This is a great trade. I was expecting practically nothing even if we ate the majority of his contract, so to get a high floor starting pitching prospect plus a wild card lefty is a huge get. Hard to be dissapointed with this return. Honestly, right now the Robertson/Kahnle/Frazier trade is my least favorite deadline deal for us. I think Hahn did better with his lesser trade chips, which is a bit surprising.
  17. Positional guys I'd like to see are Cordell, Gillaspie, Polo, Mendick, & Delmonico (if he doesn't get called up). Pitchers would be Stephens, Fry, Leyer, & maybe Fulmer & Danish to see them in relief roles.
  18. QUOTE (The Mighty Mite @ Jul 30, 2017 -> 10:56 AM) If I'm not mistaken it's still 15 teams in Florida and 15 in Az. I'm talking the move from Tucson to Phoenix. IIRC, there were only three teams in Tucson which meant frequent long road trips to Phoenix, which veterans didn't like going. Once we made the move to AZ, it only made sense to move to Phoenix and I'm not sure how anyone could complain about that other than AU students from the southside.
  19. Another big day for arms. Winston-Salem with a double-header. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20170730
  20. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Jul 30, 2017 -> 08:40 AM) JR would have never wanted to move to Addison and Tuscon if he didn't own the land. He should get a kick in his rear end for passing up the South Loop offer that the City of Chicago made. I've never met anybody who thinks the franchise is better off at its present location as opposed to the South loop location. Also when the tax benefits ran out in Tuscon he moved the team to Glendale. Or maybe he moved to Phoenix since there significantly more teams there and it required much less travel for his players...
  21. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 30, 2017 -> 09:28 AM) Lopez's last 6 starts: 36.2 IP, 1.96 ERA, 2.49 FIP, 49K, and only 8BB. Thanks for posting!
  22. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 30, 2017 -> 08:21 AM) I haven't had a chance to see him yet (Charlotte doesn't come here until August), but I always see his name pop up on our league leaderboards for lowest ERA and most K's among qualified starters, so there's that. Still hasn't matched the numbers he put up in AA that vaulted him up the Nationals prospect list, though. His future seems to rest almost purely on whether or not he can avoid walks. He has in his last seven starts or so. He's been down-right dominant the last few weeks.
  23. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Jul 29, 2017 -> 08:12 PM) If you aren't at least a little worried about him you're lying to yourself. Jesus f***ing Christ dude, you won't give Moncada two weeks before panicking but want to rush Jimenez from A+ ball in a foolish attempt to win some meaningless games next year. Maybe you should take a couple years off White Sox baseball, because rebuilding is clearly not for you.
  24. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 29, 2017 -> 08:05 PM) Devers 4/14 Moncada 4/33 ?
